Nice video Tony. Thanks for posting. Always interesting to see how you guys close up the gaps when panel beating and fitting. Waiting to see the next video. Subscribed. And thanks for working on these old British classics - glad you're working to keep our motoring heritage alive. Cheers and all the best.

That's great to hear thank you very much. New videos will be up soon. I will endeavour to try to go into more detail as I get into doing these videos.

Hi Tony. I can see you take pride in your work. I've been a panelbeater/ painter for 50+ years. Everyday is a School day. You started well , the bonnet dictates the wings. Get the back of the wing painted before you fit it. IF it fits well (unlikely) then it can stay on. However, you should get the doors lined up first, the rear wings obviously can't adjust so no point fitting the front wing and then finding out you can't align the door to the quarter panel. It may be you've done this already in which case l will disappear up my own orifice! Take care and stay safe. Look at 178 TJH to see my work. I NEVER make comments to embarrass , only to help.

Hiya, that's a fair comment. Its not the complete job. I've broken the video up into sections. In the next video I sort the door as well as the wing, I always work the wing and door together and work to what I have with the rear quarter again this generally needs work. In the final video I sort the door gaps. In regards to painting the back of the wings, I get the wings to 99% sorted then remove them to paint I only do this incase any additional cutting and welding needs to be done and I don't want the paint to get burnt. Back of the wings get epoxy primer, stone chip protection and body colour. I've done it this way for 10 plus years and it's never failed me 😁 hopefully you'll like what I do in the next videos. Thank you for taking the time to comment. All the best.

Looking forward to more....my B has wings, doors, tailgate and bonnet to fit. I bought good used panels to replace saddened ones but am now wondering from fitting perspective if I may have been better repairing...as they did fit well! I can see with bonnet that a couple of alignment holes can be drilled in hinges to replace once aligned and removed for paint...but how do you generally mark wings and doors?
My second question - are you just moving the bonnet with your hammer and wooden dolly, or shaping it?
PS I do find your vids are a bit quiet - even at max and with windows volume booster.

Ahhh I'm using a phone at the moment and relying on its mic, if the channel works out I'll invest in some better gear. Thanks for the head up though.
So basically, bonnet isn't really an issue, It can't really go in many places. The wings I get 99% perfect, then I remove, paint the backs and the inner wings then refit and never remove again. It's a little bit of a faff. I basically get all the gapping and welding etc done, then paint as I said then refit. They pretty much go to the same place after if had them fitting well.
