    I had forgotten about the CV input to the aux sends... I guess that area is normally buried under cables. Thanks!

    Just an idea but maybe color coding cables would also help remembering, where goes what :> (please dont hit if the color coding is white for sequenced drums or something ;)

    • @WMDevices
      @WMDevices  2 роки тому +1

      That could be helpful for sure but would take a bit of organization up front and you would need multiple lengths in same colors. Color coding by length is really nice for quick workflow as it makes it easy to grab the length you want. We just like the white as it's clean and has a nice contrast with the black modules.

    I´ve bought the Metron as a pure trigger/gate sequencer and now I have second thoughts. The idea is to split drum patterns from drum sounds, but also be able to link both. Guess it will be either a second metron with voltage extenders or some pure CV sequencer with storage. Any recommendations? Oh, and can you recall patterns remotely on the metron? Would be awesome to have a master sequencer that metron slaves to.

    • @WMDevices
      @WMDevices  4 роки тому +4

      Split drum patterns from drum sounds? I'm not really sure what you mean by that or why you would need two Metrons to do so. Voltera is awesome for sequencing parameters on drums and because they are their own independent tracks, you can have the parameters change with different pattern lengths and such, really opening up the sequencing abilities. As far as recalling patterns remotely, you can do this in a couple of ways. You can sequence through the variations via external triggers into the assignable ins and you can use the S BUS (select bus) feature to either send or receive program changes. If you send it a program change from a select bus master, you can recall different sessions from memory remotely.

      @@WMDevices Thanks for the quick reply! The main reason for two Metrons would be simply the number of tracks available. I´m currently using my Metron to mainly trigger MIDI sound modules (Airbase, Drumstation) and that eats the majority of tracks. Now I think about getting into chimera/fracture/crater territory and animate their parameters. This can be done with a single Metron + Voltera of course, but I´d likely run out of tracks sooner or later (example: 3 tracks for 3 BDs, 2 for HH, 2 for OH, 1 for snare) . So the idea is to keep using the existing Metron as pure trigger sequencer and use the second one with Voltera just for CV sequencing. That way, I can switch trigger patterns indepently from CV patterns and avoid copy orgies. Let´s say you control the DB decay with a pattern, 1-12 long decay, 13-16 short. Now I want to use that with a different trigger pattern. I could copy the relevant Voltera tracks, but then I just have those two combos. With two metrons, I can select trigger patterns and CV patterns indepently and recall the pairings I like from a master sequencer or DAW. At least that´s my theory... I´ll dig deeper on muffwiggler, as youtube comments probably isn´t the best place for long discussions ;) Last question: Chimera with black plate, are those in the queue?

      @@WMDevices or use an external clock with divider like Pamela's New Workout and feed that into Metron perhaps?

    @joshk2181 5 років тому +1

    Alex such a qt. Metron does seem awesome, can each track have an independent length/clock divider?

    • @WMDevices
      @WMDevices  5 років тому +2

      Independent track length yes. Metron and Voltera tracks are independent too so everything is customizable. Clock Division/Multiplication is very messy on the interface so we opted for the Expand/Contract feature which takes your pattern and Either Halves or Doubles the pattern on the grid, so you can still acheive the same effect without the playheads all being out of sync.
