i rarely recommend playing remakes of games, but the switch remake is honestly amazing. i highly recommend it. This was one of my favorite gameboy games growing up.
I think its pretty clear but is not so much about her being a seagull but more like her wanting to be free cause she knew she will disappear, she knew about the island and she knew it was the only way for link to escape. All she wanted was freedom which was impossible because she was nothing more than a part of the wind fish's dream but then her dream came true and was able to exist outside of the fish's dream. seagulls (birds in general) are known as a symbol of freedom
I feel you. Zelda is what made me a gamer. Specifically a link to the past. I played games for years before that but that's when I got hooked. I remember borrowing links awakening from my cousin after finding out it existed from her and keeping it for many months until I beat it and gave it back to her. Games like this took time without access to the Internet back then. Ahhhh... the good ol' days lol. Oh God!!! I am old now. I'm repeating phrases from my dad at the tender age of 36!!!! Anyways.. I got to grow up in the golden age of gaming imo
I am a fan of this one, a link to the past and the oracle set. This story is my favorite in the series due to the inner journey and the gravity of the consequences- the struggle for doing what is right, not what is easy. It's a mature lesson, and a tough choice. But it's also an allegory for the defining moments that come up in life.
@@RetroWarsuk you know what? I don't care what you call it you did an excellent job on the video. I enjoy your content very much and I did subscribe. :-)
@RetroWarsuk man, I've made 10-20 min videos for MTG on my @BreakingBoosters channel, and that's was extremely time consuming. I see these dudes putting up 12 hour retrospectives on vid games and, I know with absolute certainty, they are doing nothing else in life but making that video.
Oh man, this game was my childhood. I lived on my Gameboy for most of the 90s 😂 Quick sidetrack, have you done anything (podcast, vid) on Metal Gear Solid? I think my mind is playing tricks and I'm certain I've heard it discussed but can't find anything on it. Please enlighten!
The GB version of this game is probably my 3rd favorite Zelda game. I remember when I first played links awakening I was very sad about how the game ended. Also Marin is the best girl 😭
Not to be a stickler, but Zelda was the player character for Zelda’s Adventure and Zelda:The Wand of Gamelon for the CDI, tbh the games suck but I want them to be canon for the lols. Also the wand of gamelon is a powerful magical artifact,as well as the book of Koridai. The book can one shot seal ganon, and the wand has the power to control the book,as well as just being magic.
I don't care what anyone else says, THIS is the best 2d Zelda.
I agree, I may go and play it again now
Which do you prefer, the original or remake?
@@BostonBugsy Haven't played the remake yet, but I do think it looks fantastic.
@@coltonowens2742 Oh cool, you're in for a treat! They did a fantastic job with it!
This is my very first Zelda and this taught me about backtracking and solving puzzles
I loved playing this game on the original Gameboy! Thanks for bringing back the wonderful memories.
Im glad you enjoyed it. There is also a podcast episode as well. Think it was episode 25 back in the day

The remake was great, they really did a good job with it

IT STILL HURTS DAMMIT
Damn I’m getting old, have very fond memories playing this as a kid. One of my favourite games ever. The remake as switch is excellent as well
switch remake was a banger

Same here! One of the first games I remember really getting lost in playing, once I was old enough to play coherently. Formative af to baby me

@@KBXband thank you. Next video is being done now. If you want more stupidity listen to the podcast
I saw 30 min and thought, "Ah, this must be a intro to the retrospective" ha know, because it isn't 8 hours 34 minutes long.
I think my mind would melt making it that long
