Mercedes-Benz used to be only introduce ground breaking new technology in every new S-Class generation. Since a few year they have introduced new technology almost in every new generation model.
I drive a GLC with AMG package and a GLE. The latter is a special design one-of-one MercBenzKing Edition. The videos are online on the channel.

Yeah, I will stick to my 2018 e350e for a while. This looks futuristic for sure but overall almost no driving-related update was introduced. 3 screens?, I use only HUD and middle screen for navigation, cool ambient lightning animations? I use mine at %50 brightness because it steals my attention. Super 360 camera?, mine also has it and gives me all the info I need (I do want to check how my car looks on the street, I want to see if is there a obstacle or not).
I like airbody control, smart adaptive cruise control, and 9g-tronic transmission. And I do not see improvement in those areas.

Can the ambient lighting be turned off or down? Also can you shut off sections of it? It’s so bright and like a disco.
A beautiful car.
Yes, you can change the brightness of the ambient lightening or turn it completely off. In my car, I use the gray or white color at 75% brightness. Looks awesome. However, my son will turn on the blue or red and it's way too bright for me.
As a Manager I had to chose between A6, BMW Series 5 and E-Class. I decided to chose an E300de PHEV station wagon with AMG line int/ext, Airmatic and and and... Pretty expensive but Galaxies beyond Audi and BMW.... Looking forward to it :)

I think there is such a thing as too much ambient lighting, this is it! I think it is configurable enough so you can turn off parts of it at least.

I need this new model with a v6 in it. Hate have no idea when they will be releasing the e450. Can’t see myself driving this beauty with a v4 engine.

It's a beautiful car, that's for sure. Nevertheless, the screens are too much. They don't look seamless because they are still backlit LED screens, OLEDs would be more beneficial.
The fake exhaust pipes are still unbearable, for that alone I would go for the e450 petrol but it shouldn't be solved like that. Even the early W221 models with diesel engines simply had bent pipes and did without the fake method.
Still, a great car for everyday driving.
3 computer monitors on the dash, yet its still illegal to use a mobile phone 😂
The only thing I would like to see changed is the tail lights.😢
Why does the new E class grill look like the C class.
The rear lights are not that great.
No matter how hard these car reviewers try to sell the new merc design, it wont change a thing about new mercs ->They are boring as fuck. The times when each merc had its specific design language, face, lines, "soul". Just remember CLS and you know it. These new cars are just mere shadows of what merc used to be about. Elegance and status. Now it's just about saving costs, flashy ligts and that's it. They do 1 design template and copy paste it to all classes except of G and GTs. Sad times for automotive industry.

I didn't like the interior, w205 facelift has stiff steering issues...
as cool as a digital key is, this will no doubt increase the theft of these cars because of how much easier it makes them to steal. this is kind of the sad side of tech integration into cars

I work for Mercedes and I have to say the interior is terrible. My goodness those big ass glass screens will look outdated and old in just 5 years time. The W213 interior was pure perfection. Exactly the right balance between screen and useful and necessary buttons wich by the way makes the car SO MUCH more appealing and timeless. What the heck are they doing? There is nothing that makes the interior look or feel worthy,homey,comfortable. It’s literally just a plain glass panel.
Yes, agreed. E.g. the small analogue clock in the C class middle console until '21 makes it feel like a small S class interior - and timeless 😉

I'm tired of the elimination of buttons and beautiful wood trim for cheap 20FPS touch screens and ambient lighting. The Germans know what they're doing, they put lots of ambient lighting and screens resembling IPhones and the general public goes OOOO and AHHH, it's all a gimmick. These interiors are cheaper for Mercedes to make, buttons and wood are more expensive than touch screen monitors. Good luck to people buying these cars for long term, its like driving a computer.
