@@michelledoyle1969For the first time. Single mother can catch a break. Everytime a child misbehave, society blames the mother. In this case is a 2 family home yet still the kids acting up. I am really surprised Jo didn't really comment when Cameron said he loved his dad at 18:04 and his dad couldn't receive it. That must feel horrible. He heard his younger kids before hearing his first born. I hope he continues to hear him when he speaks because he is first in line when something happens to either of them.

This is the comment I was looking for. The dad took no accountability and tried to manipulate the situation by saying he didn't hear the oldest son and accused the son of assuming and getting upset.
The family made a lot of progress...but I wish they would have worked on telling each other "I love you."

    • @sroberts605

I think she must not have heard it either - it certainly looked like that and it was such a pivotal moment I don't think she would have let it go - the camera/mics pick up things differently.

It doesn’t make you less of man or weak to love or show affection to your family. Love makes you stronger! No, I agree. He walks away because he’s afraid of blowing up. He has never been taught to confront things healthily. He can’t name what he’s feeling, I don’t think he had yet learned the impact of healthy communication. When mom blew up and came back out, he did good at letting all the words out and they had the first moment on the show of truly communicating with each other. I’m hoping it wasn’t a narcissistic type of “okay now I’ll pretend to try since you’re this upset,” I hope he really saw how the communication resolved the moment and learned from that.
It’s not our fault when we’re raised by narcissists and aren’t given the right tools for life. But it becomes our fault when we’re faced with the opportunity to change that and ignore it.
