The only person more positive than Simon is the editor who erased the down at the beginning while Simon was going through the Copeland/Penta match 😆
It’s ok. It returns at minute 11
CM PUNK IS THE ONLY WRESTLER TO EVER APPEAR AT WM, RAW AND DYNAMITE IN THE SAME WEEK 🐐
CM Punk is an even bigger star.
@@matthewhostetter8974only if youre a wrestling nerd who said I wasn’t tf lol
Underrated comment 😅😅😅
Do you think tony will pay him lol
The first to ever appear on 3 shows on the same week 🤣
Brock throwing that universal belt on vince desk was more lit than that "backstage brawl" 😂💯
"Hey asshole"
That's what Tony should have said to Punk, but he was too busy fearing for his life
Vince truly feared for his life back then 😢
To be fair even the Young Bucks went out of their way to say it was essentially a schoolyard fight or whatever it was they said.
The story they're going with is that the fight was nothing, but the effect of it was significant.
I don't think they needed to show the footage at all. But it'll give them a ratings spike, people are talking about AEW in the week after mania and FTR got to cut a promo saying exactly the same as the fans are. Stop the drama. Move on. Have a great match.
@@peterhague5626 they buried the fight buried perry and made CM Punk chants happen even during the airing of the footage..........
@@CynicallyObnoxious The fight needed burying. It was nothing. But people won't shut up about it.
Personally don't think Perry came out looking any better or worse. (He will suffer in Chicago this week, but he'll keep improving in njpw)
They didn't need to do it. I can certainly see and agree with a lot of the arguments that they shouldnt have. The Punk chants were obviously going to happen.
But it's really not as bad as everyone seems to want it to be.
Renee's facial expressions during Will's promo...
🤨😐😑🤣🤣
I wonder if she wrote to Stephany afterwards. That must be an awkward call for friends.
😂 imagine if VINCE aired the Montreal screw job backstage incident where Bret punched him 😂... but vince has Pat Patterson and Gerald Brisco show the footage lmmfao

They have I'm pretty sure. Simon loves everything they do even when its clearly crap
Simon is the most positive guy on Wrestling youtube lol im sorry but that Bucks segment def should not be getting an UP
It's toxic positivity
Nicest guy in prison
This show felt like they were more focused on taking jabs at WWE than, I dunno, focusing on their actual show.
So.....Wrestlemania week?
i enjoyed those parts, but that was like 5-6 minutes of a 2 hour show. not sure how you got those feelings.
That's aew in general
100% fair criticism. It’s actually this feeling that tends to be the case when Kenny Omega & Mox aren’t around. Focus on your own product, not desperately wanting attention from the bigger show.
They are mad about losing this war so badly
No one would have believed Dustin could win. The reason there was any suspense is because we could actually believe he could win a non-title match.
I actually think people would think that maybe after this past weekend that Tony would stick it on Dustin
This is one of the worst Dynamites I've seen in a long time.
Simon gets a rare brown down for giving that segment an up
I thought the same thing so I gave this video a thumbs down lol
It does affect the bucks and perry. They'll likely have to deal with CM Punk chants for a while....lol
I think they've managed to chase away most the Punk fans.

He's too busy using it to give downs to Hulk Hogan vs Andre at WrestleMania 3. Seriously f*** this Simon Miller guy and this channel. Hope this dude gets to AEW, that's obviously the shameless goal here.
Not sure calling people crazy for yelling at Jericho because of sexual harassment accusations is the greatest look here Simon….
Those made up accusations? Or what are we talking about?
Of course he didn’t give it a down
man simon miller got garbage take and garbage taste same like all of these "wrestling news" assbags

@@HelixJoeyeah but taking 3 lefts instead of 1 right is stupid. It deserves a down. AEW had Batman level prep time and dis this?
"Are you fucxing kidding me?" 😅😅😅
Well, Simon himself always calls himself a positive Pete.
And the YB at least tried (failed, but tried) to incorporate the video into their current feud.
And Simon doesn't rate the backstage decision, which gets a brown down, just the actual footage.
@@exilhamburger4802yet he rates get an up signs for dumb reasons
Showing the footage was not a "haha! Got you" moment at Punk, it was putting out their side of the story. Punk went on an interview saying that it was a small fight and brushed it off. AEW is putting their side of the story at how one dude put in jeopardy the biggest show theyve done by getting into a physical altercation with a coworker, all while waving it into a storyline.
I dont get it, it was petty, but it was waved into the storyline and gave us a good promo by FTR afterwards
I thought the same! The video was just meh but the Bucks trying to use it in the storyline was pretty good and put a story behind the match at dynasty

This edition of AEW Dynamite was sad. If I wasn't a Swerve Strickland fan, I would've tuned out.
Strong case for a hard reset on their overall focus. Shows like tonight remind me of the worst of 2010s WWE & WCW 1998-2000. Booking & overall pacing has gotten pretty wack since that mass signing of WWE road agents.
You are so right. Great PPV planned and matches people care about and all you here today is how sad the Young Bucks and Tony Khan is for showing an eight month old video
Noone will remember anything about this show but the footage and Opsreay only making things worse.

The Young Buck segment relying on footage of Punk is more embarassing than The Revival having to shave each other's backs.
I agree cause the shaving back stuff was meant to be comedy it just wasn't funny this is just embarrassing
Amen
Well ftr can clearly see who's the joke now.
“This Individual” :D
Sure, Punk didn't do the right thing, but he still said exactly what happened in the interview. No one is defending what he did, but AEW embarrassed themself here, big time. Why bother showing the video, Punk has already told the accurate story.
It was worse than I thought personally. Scripted violence is great, the real stuff is awful
Fans aren't being realistic. If I did the same on my job, I'd be fired and criminally charged.
No, he didn't. Punk made it seem like he was defending himself. "Can't let you get close." He was the one who approached and moved towards Perry. Punk also said he "just choked someone a little," when he clearly shoved if not punched Perry.
@@consumermp a shove and a headlock barely constitute violence, especially in a sports setting. That didn't reach the level of school yard scuffle.
This isn't anything new in the world wrestling. The fact that people are shocked men get into fight just show how soft our society has gotten.
I bloody love you Simon but how could you give that ridiculous video footage an up? When the crowd were chanting CM Punk 🙈 x
Love Simon and the positivity but an up to one is the biggest missteps in the company's short history is a bit delulu
He wants one of those sweet AEW contracts before Tony's daddy pulls the purse strings on his son's broken toy, and he knows Tony is a detached billionaire who so desperately wants wrestlers to think he is cool.
@@idlehands1864I noticed a down just disappeared. Probably why I don't like the aee ups and downs. He won't get off tks lap.
@@kevinmeeks5169 Later it went from 4-0 to 4-2 So it got added back.

To be clear ups and downs is meant to be silly fun and so I really don't care lmfao
@@idlehands1864 Such a stupid comment. I said I wasn't phased by it either way and that really it was pointless. I'm pretty sure if AEW wanted to give me a contract they would've done so after 5 YEARS! You're a silly Billy.
The Punk segment gets a golden up for putting Punk over in WWE
I was disappointed in the episode, and I'm a big AEW supporter. I thought the whole Punk/Perry video was unnecessary, I guess I'm just over this whole issue. Let's just put it to rest now, please. Copeland/Penta was a pretty good match, as was May/Jay. Everything else to me seemed a bit lackluster. And I hate.. absolutely hate 'Eliminator' matches. The challenger never wins so there's never any follow up. We all knew Dustin was going to lose, that's his only job these days, unfortunately. The Storm/Rosa thing has no heat. The best part of the show, I thought, was the backstage interview with Cope, Briscoe, Kingston, Willow, and Stoke. That was good. I'm really not enjoying the EVP's heel turn this time. I know they are trolling the haters, but I feel like it's a bit lost. Okada didn't need a squash match, but I guess it was just for build-up, I wish they'd just have the flagship show primarily for higher ranked wrestlers. Why not use some of the AEW guys who aren't on TV get some TV time on the main show? Nothing against the local talent, but use them on Rampage or House Shows.
Just like aew, this was the worst episode of ups and downs ever
There is a thing called toxic positivity Simon. Granted, it's not that serious to each their own, but its ok to call bad things out. That doesn't make it negativity. Criticism is essential for positive growth, and pretending everything ok will cause negative outcomes. Never change Simon, but be authentic and genuine with your positivity, not the "positivity gimmick." That completely undermines the goal of being positive.
Dustin match is a great example of blood not feeling special in anyway in AEW. Regular bump lead to fountains of blood.
EXACTLY
The bucks section was clearly a brown down. It did nothing for business.
I like how they didn't put the polls for this one knowing the amount of brown downs it'll get
They biased
Brown Down
Simon is the epitome of the dog in the kitchen and its on fire meme... "This is fine."
Which Whatculture used to meme Tony Khan recently... 🤣🤣
I'm a huge AEW fan. Even since before it was a fully fledged company. But I think this moment might have been a little up but along with the first ever golden down.
At least we had a great Ospreay promo (shame on timing), Penta cooked, Stardom+AEW keep cooking, Ogogo return and Swerve keeps Swerving🎉
Not to be a jerk or anything but I think he calls them brown downs?
Brown Downs is what Simon calls them
We used to roast Raw from about 2010 to 2022. This Dynamite was far far worse. It would have fit right in with the dying years of Nitro, which is disgraceful given how good AEW was just 2-3 years ago.
It's actually been a slow decline that we haven't seen because of shiny things. Things were waning a little before Punk arrived and it gave them another 18 months of hiding their problems.
I don't know why they have let the Punk issue push them off track so much. Just let it go completely and stop focusing on WWE. When I watch Dynamite I don't want to be constantly reminded of WWE. It's really bad to keep reminding the viewing of the hotter product. Just insanity.
For once I agree with Bully Ray. AEW really needs help. They need to totally change how they book shows. It's grown far beyond being able to be run as a fantasy league. As WWE showed, sometimes the best thing that can happen is for the owner to have their hands firmly off creative.
TK deciding to air the footage is the biggest brown down of the year
Brown and runny
100%
I agreed a disgusting tactic of 2k24
So Hulk Hogan vs. Andre the Giant in the most important wrestling match of all time gets a down, but this gets an up? Jesus. I thought Bryan Alvarez was a hack. Simon Miller makes Alvarez look like Jim Ross.
This episode gets a brown down. Also Mercedes looks like the sloth off ice age 😂
This episode of Dynamite did nothing for me. The most interesting parts of the show were more confusing than interesting. Like where did that champagne come from after the Jay/May match? What kind of reaction did the decision makers expect from the audience showing CM Punk get into a scuffle? He has a very chantable name.
2019: Both Seth Rollins and WWE were clowns (for Seth Rollins comparing bank money with will ospreay and Vince terrible booking) and Aew and will ospreay were mature
2024: Both will ospreay and Aew are jokes for addressing off-screen issue on-screen. Seth Rollins sacrificed everything for cody to finish his story and wwe puts on killer shows.
How the tables have turned
To be fair Will and the Bucks were forced to do everything by Tony. Ospreay almost signed with WWE so you really think that's HIS opinion?
@@scotthallinan4609nope not buying that at all
I honestly don’t watch aew but I did only watch just for the footage so I don’t think they did their job. I tried to stay but then the will osprey promo followed and I was like bruh.
The Ups and Downs counter is broken again 🙃. All in all, this was not a good Dynamite. I found myself shaking my head more than just once. There was ZERO reason to show this footage as all it did was prove that what Punk said about the incident was right. He said he initiated contact first. He said he told TK off. He said he confronted Perry because of what he had said during his match regarding the glass spot. Nobody is out here saying Punk was right to assault a coworker but when he himself said that he did it and why he did it, and the fact that fact that he got fired over it, AND the fact that this happened MONTHS ago then what was the point?? It reeked of desperation. It reeked of TK trying to paint Punk in a bad light after he already said what he did and it’s just a shit look for AEW in general.
And even the Will Ospreay comments were unnecessary and childish. This isn’t the attitude era. We’ve heard that same exact attempted insult towards Triple H for YEARS. Another weak attempt at a clapback. TK needs to stop trying to attack WWE and just focus on his company and the talent otherwise, they’ll be out of business in less than 5 yrs.
It just feels like aew is getting even worse. But this pettiness is taking it to the next level
@@Tuturial464i get second hand embarrassment from this. It’s disgusting
I know I'm very critical of AEW, but I honestly don't see how any fan can defend this show tonight and admit it was good. This helped AEW in no way. They need to focus on their own company, and stop taking shots at WWE.
Apparently Will Ospreay was against saying it but had to.
@@matthewhostetter8974They had to and always have to take shots of the sloppy shot company.
That Footage segment was a major Brown Down.. there's no way possible that was an Up.
The show in general was a Down.
2 people didn't even want to look in the direction of a camera and looked ashamed when they were shooting at WWE.
Don't get it twisted though, love your content and positivity.
Just saying I disagree on this one.
Pitting Willow vs Copeland would firmly declare that he made the wrong choice in leaving WWE. Simple.
Imagine being a bona fide Hall of Famer, jumping ship to the WCW 2.0 opposition, only to be treated like a Santino Marella-esque joke in the end.
I'm an aew fan. It got me back into wrestling BUT they need to focus on their own product. This was a mess of a show with one decent match. Cope V penta
I'm reeeeeeeeeeeeally hoping that with FTR's promo, that's exactly the case. This is probably AEW's biggest "Okay this is a lot of backlash, we need to reset" moment. They've already proven how fucking incredible the company as a whole can be during the first two years - I just hope they can unstick themselves and do it again.
Ima huge AEW fan, but i have no idea what happened this week. It was just weird.
you know its bad when even Simon Miller is having troubles keeping himself positive.
In my opinion, this footage doesn't lead anywhere, so much time has passed that everyone has their own opinion about this incident, and even if they showed a drunk punk beating up everyone, some fans would still say that it wasn't his fault. AEW has a roster full of talented wrestlers and that's what they should focus on. I personally don't give a shit where cm punk is currently, since last time when he left WWE and his stupid comments about WWE i have an opinion about him and for me he can even return to the UFC for another beatdown or backyard wrestling :)
Felt bad for Renee when she had to hold that mic for Osprey
She knows Triple H and Stephanie very well, and has openly maintained friendships with them; she even managed to leave WWE on good terms in 2020 when Vince was in charge, mainly because of them. It must have been the most awkward promo of her life...
Had it been part of an angle, you could at least say there was some merit to it. It was immature, petulant and self serving. And given that misogyny is making headlines in the wrestling business right now, it's not a smart move for a company that likes to portray itself as inclusive.
@@shamineamon4880even if it was part of an angle, crap like that makes AEW look bush league.
@@registereduserit's already the dump leagues of they have no direction and lots of injured talent
1. Dustin and Joe was a great match, absolutely loved it.
2. AC and penta was great and HOB afterwards was great.
3. Sadly it seems every promo on tonight took away from the talented matches that were on. Punk, ospreay, Deonna telling the butler to f off was stupid. Did nothing for her. It took attention away from swerve and joe. The bucks just made themselves look stupid, petty, and made the tag title match uninteresting to a lot of people. They'll probably win just to make themselves look good and that'll backfire on them.
I think the FU was aimed at Rosa who resented her help
I'm still wondering htf you have Paige and the person who injured her in the same company and not have the match

Worst thing about this, AEW needs to build to the PPV. I want them to succeed because competition makes everything better. But they made it seem like it's gonna be Punk v Perry and Ospreay v HHH. Fucking take some shots at Danielson for that build
So, let me get this straight. Over the course of a week, WWE has gone from sports entertainment to pro wrestling and AEW has gone from pro wrestling to sports entertainment? Kind of what it feels like.
ALL that matters is that Mina Shirakawa showed up on AEW Dynamite. The former Cosmic Angel, the current Co-Captain Empress Nexus Venus, MINA SHIRAKAWA IS ALL ELITE

I don't think that has happened since I started watching
WWE really set the bar high for you. They didn't get a single down across the 4 shows during the weekend

There is a fine line between being positive and not expressing opinions in order to not burn bridges. Love you, Simon, but these Ups&Downs sucked

I do have to point out that this episode of Dynamite was centered around video of an altercation between a guy who is in the other company and another guy who isn't even wrestling for AEW. The rest of the show was kind of meh. I was honestly hoping that AEW would have put on a strong wrestling-centered episode of Dyanmite considering WWE put on their most important weekend of the year.

I do love how positive Simon is all the time, but I don’t know. Giving an up to that segment? I mean, an up to FTR is fine, they were clearly trying their best to make it work, but that whole thing with the video footage is the biggest brown down I’ve seen in a while now. This didn’t help their feud, it was distracting, petty, and elicited CM Punk chants on AEW tv. There’s no universe where this was a good idea, whether you’re on either side of the debate regarding Punk in AEW. If they felt like the footage was going to reverse any opinions (which it very clearly didn’t) then they should have posted it online or something, it had no place on Dynamite.
Cant wait for the “i am a positive guy”, “nobody is ever wrong “,”i dont care about attendence”, “people are just human beings”.
I Love Simon, but please, Lets stop deluding ourselves
So, Simon may need a new counter for times AEW references WWE or people who work for WWE, they built three segments around WWE this show, Dustin going after Samoa Joe, The Bucks airing Punk footage, and Osprey taking a tired shot at HHH.
WWE took shots at AEW all Mania weekend. AEW responded.
@@kimchi2780 What shots? Heck they showed half a dozen AEW talents on TV, including The Bucks, Omega, John Henry, and Jericho. What WWE didn't do was build, or attempt to build matches around AEW talent or segments. More people saw the Bucks on Wrestlemania than watched this Dynamite.

DIDNT WWE TAKE NXT OFF PEACOCK & PUT IT ON U.S.A. TO GO AGAINST DYNAMITE’S DEBUT???
They referenced wwe by having dustin rhodes go after the world champion? Because Cody did? So are wrestlers who worked for wwe not allowed to wrestle the world champion now? If Ryan nemeth wrestled the world champion? Are they referencing TNA just because his brother has a title match
The Buck's beatdown segment made them look as bad as the footage reveal did; their own damn stage set took approx. *72* (!!) hours to go up, so they had to pelt it down the ramp to catch PAC, who was already at the ring. Then everyone (even Okada and PAC) were late on their saves, making the heels/faces wait to be attacked...
...and then Cash fell over before a clothesline. 🤣🤣
4:19 That would be called the Edgecator, which he used to win a few matches around 2002. It was in SYM and HCTP
Tk devoting tv time to Paul comments is crazy. The bosses daughter line is getting old.
I actually think Dustin being in an eliminator match was better because Swerve could of caused Joe to lose. This would have never been an option if it was a champion match (even if it didn't happen)
An up for the most embarrassing segment since WCW 2000 just makes these shows irrelevant, positivity is one thing, thinking all this is good is just plain delusional bias.

I think that's the point of their whole gimmick. They are the annoying egotistical EVPs 😂😂
It just means they’re doing their job
Simon, I love ups and downs, and I will never not love it. But this whole cm punk fiasco cant be anything but a massive stinky brown down
That was Adam's usual submission he used forever in WWE. Pretty sure it's called something with edge in it like most his moves. Lol
I personally give the CM punk brawl segment a Brown Down (opposite of a golden up)
I love you being a positive pete, but this show was the definition of a down. Worst Dynamite episode in a long time, probably ever.
This episode was the first time I've been concerned about the future of AEW. Brown down. This is definitely a low point in AEW's history. TK needs to stop being a high school mark with loads of money collecting free agent wrestlers like Pokemon and then doing nothing with them and start being someone who wants a serious wrestling promotion.
6 downs for a 2 hour show? I love AEW but even I would’ve given the show a down.
