Spillway near me has had some tiny ones 5-7 inches feeding on the muddy edge. Think I found the answer, size 6-8 hook, Chicone Tuscan foam head, fin racoon tail, both in black and some purple flash. Tied one up with brown foam , craft fur tail Insta eaten also.
nice! these fish were sitting down deep and coming up to look at the fly. I think a small fly with a big hook and medium size bead chain will do the trick. short strikes = bigger hook.
The grind is real 💪🏻 I see you cranking out quality videos. I found a little mangrove creek the other day that was loaded with 18-24 inch snook and endless jacks and ladyfish (video coming soon) I brought the fly rod but didn’t get to throw it. I had to drive the skiff and it was blowing 30+, Luke caught a ton of them on the NLBN’s. You should join us some time, looks like a blast on fly
My man, try stripping the line to move the fly, not the rod tip. Every time you twitch the rod your putting too much slack in your line and it's causing you to miss the hookset.
Aint no line to strip. If I strip ill pick up the fly immediately. They were just short striking it or swiping and missing. The right fly would be instant hook up, as you see in most of my videos. I've caught thousands of fish twitching the rod tip in this type of scenario. a deep pocket where the fly is being fished like a jig.
if you had your rod tip down without doing a weird pop jig you would have had more eats and a better hook up ratio... never seen anyone use a fly rod like that
It's hard to see the perspective through the GoPro footage. I know how to fish, I've caught thousands of tarpon on fly. I was doing that on purpose to move the fly as I wanted to. The same way I have caught plenty of fish in a similar scenario. I don't always jig the rod like that, only in scenarios like this. These fish were short striking, I need to tie different flies to fish this spot.
haha, I knew it was too click baity, but trying to get some impressions over here. After a great run in the summer YT pretty much killed my impressions in September. I changed the title cause it was a bit of a stretch.

I never understand how you carry multiple fly rods on the truck at all times but never have flies 😂😂
hahahaha, I normally keep a mobile fly tying kit in the truck. I often tie roadside.

New video every day?! I could get used to this. Good way to wind down a long day lol
Hahaha. My homie @albladez is trying to get me to do daily vlogs, so ima try to pump out as many as I can until I can’t. Haha
@@Eric.Estrada yea buddy every day I’m hustlin’ lol
🌴 that spot looked fishy , the pipe would be a perfect ambush area , was waiting for the big splash 😄
I am sure this spot is epic in the rainy season. Added it to my list of spots to come back to in the spring. haha
It’s loaded for sure
Bro, drop your rod tip, keep that line straight to the fly. Your line is shaped like an "L" too much, and the fish punished you for it. 😉
