Benidorm is located on the Costa Blanca, Spain. Famous for it's beaches, bars, restaurants, nightlife, entertainment, hotels, sightseeing, party atmosphere, excursions, tours and sun. Excellent information again Lucy, unfortunately I can’t visit Spain at this time due to being more than 270 days since last vax and cannot have anymore on medical advice due to anaphylactic shock immediately after no2. Haven’t had Covid so no R Certificate. So my daughter & I are going to Croatia next week as I can go with a negative test. Will just have to wait and see re Spain.☹️
Very sensible, crazy how some people will gamble their health for a holiday.

Thank you for the continued time and effort you put into the channel.
The last two months have been extremely challenging. Thanks to the support of some qualified health practitioners and others that were unexpectedly supportive I can see a glimmer of light at the end of a very long, very dark tunnel.
I wish everyone a stress free life and if that includes visiting Benidorm to chill out even better.
Chances are I won’t be coming back anytime soon but right now it really is a case of one-day-at-a-time.

Hello Lucy - About a tourist tax - when my sister Pauline was 60 about 22 of us went to Las Vegas and before we could get into our hotel rooms we had to pay a $25 a day TOURIST TAX.

That was the hotel then, I have stayed there and no such tax was levied. This was in 2018.
it's all planned it's all about money. the rich can travel. we'll stay in prison. on the east coast

The tourist tax has been applied in Italy and even the UAE.
Guess what? I have never been back to either location, I don’t think I am alone so be be careful what they think they can get away with.
Majorca not only have the tourist tax (averaging 3 euros a night pp) but the all inclusive is now government controlled as in something like maximum 3 drinks up to app. tea time, and 3 more drinks for rest of the evening, apparently to give the Balearic Islands a "classier image"
Tourist tax ? Allmost every country apply this , and this is correct , as you see what amount of dammage some tourist do to public property , during their holidays , but have to say Not all . That was the major reason why the started it in my country .

Was over a Month ago rained non stop for 7 days came home got Covid so will be back over next Friday till Tuesday

I am so glad Benidorm or not implementing this tax. I think us Brits are wanting to support Benidorm as soon as we can with regards to holidays, nights out etc, this tax would put such a negative on the resort such as what happened in Majorca.
I'm due a lads holiday in September over there and maybe another holiday mid year with the family. Believe me Benidorm will benefit alot more from selling beers to us than the introduction of a tourist tax that could make us look elsewhere to spend our hard earned cash.

I see that the EU are pushing for Spain to increase the tax on Alcohol, that will not go down well in Benidorm either.
That’s a bigger story than the EU pushing Spain to increase “Tax”; on alcohol. It’s called price by unit of alcohol. We had it in Ireland recently for health reasons. Alcohol prices in supermarkets and other outlets increased by about 35%. No big deal really, just drink less.
Like all EU directives they set a minimum standard and leave it to each member state to implement their own rate of tax. These stories grow legs especially in the red top tabloids when there is nothing else going on worth reporting. Here is closer to the truth as reported in the Irish Times, It’s an EU request to talk about harmonising Tax on alcohol, nothing more !
The European Commission asked EU states today to consider narrowing the differences in national alcohol tax rates to help fight smuggling.
Wide disparities in national tax rates on wine, beer and alcohol encourages fraud and distorts competition in the EU internal market, the Commission argued in a report.
"It is clear to all that the widely divergent levels of alcohol taxation in member states distort the market and facilitate fraud and smuggling," European Internal Market Commissioner Mr Frits Bolkestein said in a statement.
"A full debate is needed to establish whether there is now any consensus for improving the present situation."
Sweden, which has the highest alcohol tax in the EU and earned €1.2 billion euros in alcohol tax revenue in 2001, has pushed for the debate as its citizens flock to neighbouring EU countries to buy cheap beer and wine.
Why should alcohol be cheaper in Spain than in other parts of Europe , compare Sweden / Norway and you will see its still cheap .
The EU does not have competency in setting taxes on alcohol, as can be seen by the wide variety of taxes applied by different member states.
@@greattobeadub The EU is reaching out to its members asking them to discuss harmonising tax on alcohol to make the smuggling of alcohol less attractive for organised criminals. It’s only the anti EU news outlets make this out to be more than what it is. It’s not even news !

be honest when i was in portugal i paid a euro a night tax which although it is another tax i can understand that tourist do cost a country as well as put money into places and we still need hospitals excetra
They introduced the sunshine tourist tax in the Balearic Islands years ago and I’ve never been back….plenty of other destinations to go…
There's been a tourist tax in the Balearics since 2016 - hoteliers etc. were strongly against it, however it is now well established. It is not imposed by central government, it is a decision for the autonomous regional authorities.
It has had little or no effect on tourist numbers in Mallorca , Ibiza or Menorca.

Hi Lucy. Great news about the removal of masks. And i read about the tourist tax they want to administer. But alicante have said they won't be adding the tax. Which is good news as it will put a lot of people off coming to Spain. " AND YOUR NEVER GOING TO BELIEVE THIS " BUT I HAVEN'T GOT THAT T-SHIRT " 😭😭😭😭. is it a vans one?. Yes, we just booked Port Aventura to take our grandson.(we usually go to Beni).Just found out we have to pay 3euros each per day to the hotel in cash, adding over a hundred euros to the price of our holiday.Had we known we would have gone to a theme park in Turkey.

Hi Lucy - Can you clarify what’s classed as fully vaccinated for Spain - we have had 2 Pfizer - but no booster - been watching your vlogs from Australia for the past year - looking to visit Spain once your wild weather disappears!
A full course of vaccinations for adults would be two plus a booster but booster must be less than 270 days old for the UK I suggest Australia would be very similar on rules
