I used to sew and buy corsets when I was in high school. When it comes to the busk, it’s usually sewn with very thin techniques to reduce bulk. Because even the thinnest silk can bulk the busk a TINY bit and it can be a struggle to put on. So I would possibly recommend using a less bulky stitch when surrounding the busk, or even using a thinner yarn for the side with the stubs. It looks wonderful btw!!!
Thank you! It hadn't occurred to me that the fabric might get in the way until trying to put it on. I assumed it would work fine since it was in the pattern. I'm hoping that with looser tension, the busk on my next one will be a bit easier to fasten
It's absolutely beautiful but i was a little confused ''fully boned'' would mean there are strips of plastic or metal sewn into the body of the corset so it gives structure all around. I was especially excited about that part because i want to do a fully boned corset myself and was hoping to see some helpful advice for that, so i am a little disappointed. i recommend changing the title to ''with hardware'' or something
Lolol I just do things sometimes too 😅 also it came out so cute!! And I think you styled it so well 🫶 also also I couldn’t stop staring at all your art pieces in the back at the end 🥰
Thank you! I'm excited about the black version I'm making right now. Although, I ordered 2 busks so that i could make 2 corsets, and now I can't find one of them 😅😫 The art is a mix of stuff I bought from artists directly and stuff I found while searching for frames at the thrift atore. You can find some really cool stuff there! 🥰
Love the video! Well done on that corset. I went to get the pattern ^^ thank you for always linking the stuff you make. The thing on your nose. Did your cat scratch you by any chance? If so, it may be an infected wound. Just breaking the skin without blood can be enough. Cats usually have a lot of dirt on their nails (litter box). I'm sure the meds are antibiotics. Whatever it may be from and what it is, I hope the medication works fast and your nose heals up ^^
Thanks! I'm already halfway thru my 2nd corset 😁 Luckily, my nose is healing up just fine! Still don't know what it was, but at least the meds worked 🤷♀️😊

It's very pretty. I've been looking into making a corset myself, but it seems daunting. Well done on getting it done!
Thank you! Once I got the gauge down, it wasn't too bad. I just finished a 2nd one and made a video about it, too 🥰
It turned out so cute!
You did it! It feels so finicky but you did an amazing job! And one of these days I’ll muster the patience to make it.
It is definitely finicky! The second one really is going so much smoother 😅🤣

There are bones added to the corset: 6 in total

@@gracefacecreates yesss thrift store finds ftw!! I’m excited to see the black one and how you style it!! ☺️
I had never considered adding bones and hardware to my crochet projects! I really want to try something like this now.
I somehow didn't think of trying to add hardware until I saw this pattern. It's pretty cool!
