Normally it makes a loud howling sound which is uncomfortable for me to listen to. But this one’s howl is almost silent and it lacks that whirring whoosh unlike other engine howls. Though the best part is that the audio has a deep thunderous roar instead of buzzsaw heard from older turbofan engines! Among the best A320NEO sound I’ve heard.
It's certainly quieter then a 737-MAX that's for sure. But if you haven't flown on an Airbus A220 they are probably THE QUIETEST jet i've ever flown on. They are certainly making HUGE WAVES as the next "go to" regional jet. And the A220-300 variant is the same size as a older generation 737-700.
It's quieter than a standard a320, but it's still fairly loud. I flew with this airline not too long ago on an a320 Neo. Great plane, but you can definitely tell when it's taking off, the engines still give off a good roar lol. The camera mic just didn't pick up the engine sound very well.
Sounds like a FLEX takeoff. They probably had a strong headwind along with optimum conditions and a long runway so that maximum thrust wasn’t needed to takeoff. Airlines will use flex takeoffs to save money on fuel. Usually this means bringing the engines only to about 80% power, or whatever is calculated by the computer.
I wanna say thanks for sharing. I'm planning on flying from Detroit to Phoenix in November and I'm not ashamed to say I've been scared. I haven't flown since 9/11
You know they got Air Marshals in all Commercial flights in the USA pretty sure it’s required they are highly trained agents that are trained to stop hijacks.. besides the extremely well trained crew aboard you’ll be completely safe.. I’ve flown countless times between 2004-2016 and I was completely fine flew United, delta, southwest, American, Hawaiian 🌺, Alaskan airlines (THE WORST), and I flew spirit to San Diego once.. never had a problem.. I usually fly out of DIA too.. you’ll be fine
Hey, I PoA'd (was the lead) this flight! I pushed it out of the gate.. That's awesome! Haha
Definitely, thanks for sharing!
Do they start #1 or #2 first? Sounds like #1 first.
@@JMG717 we start 1 first
Awesome job, and please be careful as always. Those new jet engines are massive and you feel it in the seat too.
@@JMG717 yeah, captains start first, maintenance normally start 2 first when going to the hangar
Thanks for posting flying with them soon had some flight anxiety. This video is relaxing.
I love Spirit Airlines. Everybody goofs on them but I’ve only had good experiences.
same
Most people have too high of an expectation and hates no frills
Great video, amazing engines (and quiet)!
Awesome A320 Neo...simply the best !!!

Such a quiet engine! I wonder if this is the quietest engine of its size ever

@@tomtalker2000 I once saw an Embraer E190 E2 take off, I really couldn’t believe how quiet they actually were!

@@03chrisv leap 1a is loud btw. This is 271 (pratt and whitney). You might flew with 251
Wonderful airline. Brandnew planes.

That Senior Momma Flight Attendant is tired and polished…
It has a Silencer
I like Spirit airlines the livery is cool and its very safe but idk why they are hated
The flight attendant just rushed through the safety instructions
She wasn’t really pleasant

Sounds like mini GE90
CFM is basically a mini-engine version of GE
@@Miku-uw2sl you mean PW
@@CJInfiniteAviation well if it's the pw it ain't the one with the mini ge90
@@ethansaviation2672 thats the PW one. The LEAPS are more like RR Trents PWs are more powerful
@@CJInfiniteAviation The PW's are boring😂, not even a growl while the Leap 1A does while climbing
