The twinjet has a six-abreast economy cross-section and came with either CFM56 or IAE V2500 turbofan engines, except the CFM56/PW6000 powered A318. They used both. Just depended on each individual aircraft
That's would be the power transfer unit or PTU activating. It's trying to equalize the hydraulic pressure within the lines. If u listen close a few more minutes into the video u hear the pilot start the 2nd engine. Some airlines utilize a 1 engine taxi policy to help get out the gate faster and simply start the other on the way to the runway. If the taxi is short both engines will be started beforehand.

The PTU basically tries to equalize hydraulic pressure of the (I think) 3 hydraulic systems. 2 of the systems are powered separately by each engine and the 3rd system is powered by APU and emergency systems. When one engine is running, only 1 of the hydraulic systems is powered so the hydraulic pressure is different between the 3 systems. The PTU kicks in to try and equalize the pressure and it does that barking sound when in action. According to another person's comment, the PTU went on for super long in this video because the pilots did a single engine taxi to runway and they didn't activate the electric pump to pressurize the other hydraulic system which causes the PTU to be active the entire taxi. The PTU stopped when the other engine finally got started.
Nothing to be scared of. All the noises you hear are perfectly natural and especially for this type of plane. Theres alotta mechanics that go on in a plane and that humming is just noise from the engine
I'm a huge aviation nut amd that noise you here at 3:02 is parts of the planes hydraulic system activating. When everything gets turned on after it's on the ground it just needs a minute to restart all systems. If you are ever worried flight attendants will be there to comfort you. I recommend a distraction while u fly and dont worry flying is very safe.
Your in safe hands no matter the airline. Just finds ways to take your mind off like books or a game on a phone. Ive flown plenty of times to many different destinations and have enjoyed them
I'm thinking it's apart of either the hydraulic system kicking in or the PTU. I'd have to look into it more as well. I've been on quite a few A320s and this was the only one where it was this talkative and everything
@@OhioAviationi’ve also flown on many A320s, and i could say that if u sit exactly next to the wing, you could here it like 80% of the time, this sound even kicks in when the pilots switch off one of the engines while taxing after landing
The V2500 has such a peaceful idle sound. That engine could put me to sleep anytime lol.
Sounds more like a CFM56 here.
@@TeyLindsspirit doesnt use cfm56s im pretty sure

I loooove airports at night. And flying when it's (getting) dark is another special feeling 😍 Thank you. I hope you had a nice trip 💛
What is this "chew-chew-chew"-sound in the beginning on the taxiway?

Nothing beats the amazing views of Vegas at nighttime from an airplane
I love the sound of Airbus and PTU❤
probably the best sounding start up I've heard.
If I ever fly on an A320 and hear this sound, I'll be making a joke with everyone, going, "HEY! The dog from Duck Hunt is on this plane!"
I told an old lady sitting next to me it was a dog when she asked what it was. She said, "I would never leave my dog down there." LOL!
man the people in front know how to vibe

7:48 did u all heard someone did noise like ptu its very funny 🤣😅
LOLLZZZ
its a single engine 2 taxi... if they choose a eng1 to single engine, they could be use elec hyd pump to charge yellow hyd system and avoid ptu.

1:03 I saw the Spirit A320Neo tail logo light came on and the red light.
Is there a dog is barking? 😃

That fuel pump noise almost sound like a 737
That was actually the pump for the blue hydraulic system
Yep that unique sound of the A320 family and its hydraulic systems. Especially the PTU. One of my favorite things about flying those planes

It is the electric pump.
I don't know about you but Spirit Airlines sucks in my opinion
Surprisingly I've never had any issues any time I've flown them.
I think you mean frontier. Spirit gets the job DONE.
Ye frontier is worse. I once flew on frontier to go to Philly and the seats felt like if I was sitting on bricks. Nothing else was bad
I really hope that whoever it was at Airbutt that approved that godawful PTU for production got FIRED!
