To be a root , you have to use that username , I guess. '~' means that you are in the same directory as your recent account which can be either a 'root' or 'xyz_account' . As soon as you leave your recent account directory , '~' changes to '/' and you are in the User's directory or Computer directory if you are in your 'root 'account else you'll end up into the ' home' directory where you can find other accounts , if you are were previously in the 'xyz_account' . Conclusion : '~' means : You are in the same directory as your Logged User account and he is not wrong .
14:43 there is a correction at this point sir because ls is used to list the files or directories present in the system but you said ls is used to know in which directory we are because if we want to know in which directory we are we will use pwd command i hope i have said right if there is any correction from my side please let me know

How you specify that which line for admin group and public from this code [-rwxr-xr-x]

First three for Admin, next three for Group ,last three for Public.
So,
rwx (admin)
r-x (Group)
r-x (Public)
There's no such thing as admin.. it is for the user who created the file

In your case, your username is root, that's why ~ is called root(/root).
But the real root folder is /

you're trying to copy a directory u have to put the -r flag e.g. cp -r Test Directory

use exit() to exit and then open os
