I got my radio in today, and I couldn't have done it without your help!!! I have never touched a wire a day in my life, and I am proud to announce that my radio works, lol. Thanks Eddie!
Wow Maelea, that's great!!! Most people wouldn't attempt the job because of the amount of work that goes into it so congrats to you 👏. Thanks for sharing your story, hopefully it will inspire more people to attempt the radio install lol.
This does not look like a 2006 CR-V. I believe this is a 3rd Gen CR-V. So it got to be 2007 to 2011. Unless you are talking about the year it was built, in that case it would be a 2006. The video was great! Thank you. Now I can try to change the radio on my Mother's 2007 CR-V. Again, Thank you for the how to video.
@@EddieCarrara1 I installed the new radio. Had to take back out because it was a cheap radio and didn’t have all the features I thought it had. For the amount of work it took I definitely should have invested a little more money into the actual radio. Lol👍🏽
Eddie, Thnx for a great video. I'm aout to install a Kenwood head unit in my 06 CRV . Your vid is going to make the job a lot easier. I'm also installing a back up camera as well. I'm now a subscriber as well. Thnx again!
@@EddieCarrara1 Thanks for the replay. So it only applies to the radio itself not the actual overall car alarm system correct? Just want to make sure I don't mess things up before replacing it with a head unit.
Hi L.B. I put links to all the stuff I used in the video in the description below. The link will bring you to Amazon and to the wiring harness you need. I recommend you put your vehicle year make and model in your search on Amazon and they will notify you if the wire harness is compatible with your vehicle. Let me know if you need more help and I’ll research it myself with your vehicle specs. 😁
@@EddieCarrara1 Hi Eddie, I am checking into it, I am not entirely clear on the connections including the navi...there is always not enough port/connections. Any insight that you find would be great, thank you.
@@LarryGreen @L.B. Green Are you replacing the complete unit with a Navi unit? Or is your Navi unit separate from the radio? If you are installing an audio unit with Apple car play and Android that has a built-in Navi unit you'll only need a wire harness to connect the vehicle harness to the audio unit, Navi is part of the unit and no additional wire should be needed. Let me know what you're trying to install.
@@EddieCarrara1 I am just trying to install a new head unit that has navi included, there are a total of 10 receiving ports on the back of the OEM unit, I've deciphered 3 of them (2 being the wiring harness that you spoke of and one seems to be link for steering wheel controls)...the rest are the problem...do I need to worry bout them? This is my sticking point, I do not understand why so many pins on the back of this unit (P/N: 39541-SWA-A010-M1).Thank you for all of the insight/time you are providing, I really do appreciate it.
@@LarryGreen You're welcome and it's no problem. I hope we can get this up and running for you. You're connecting the new unit to the vehicle so all you need to do is wire the power, ground, aux power, speakers, and steering controls if applicable. Plugin the new unit just to test it without installing it ( let it just sit in the dash). I don't think you need to do anything else unless the new unit states otherwise. I wouldn't worry about any other connectors at this time unless something isn't working in the new unit. How many receiving ports were being used on the OEM receiver?
hi, i have little question, i have honda cr-v installed Pioneer AVIC 980 stereo.. but why its not function the volume and answering call in the steering wheel bottons, its not working? is it really not function when you installed this kind of redio. thank you hope..i have reply👍😊
Hi Robby, I believe you need to buy an adaptor to add to the system in order for that function to work, check the installation guide that comes with the radio. Let me know if this helps, thanks.
Hi. I have a 2011 hondda crv LX. And I can’t get the vent cover off. Mine is made different from the one you have. I’ve tried to pull it from the top after popping that top panel off on the dash. Any idea how to take it off without breaking it?
Hi Bill, Try using a plastic trim tool under the vents and above the radio, pry outwards, there is usually a clip in each corner and one in the center.
Hi GtBomb, I ordered it from Amazon for my vehicle. The radio should come with its own harness but you need to order the harness to plug into the cars wire harness and then wire the connection to the radio. Let me know if this helps.
Yes! Make sure you have the power wires hooked up as described in the wiring diagram that came with the radio. One wire is power (Red) Memory (Yellow) Power antenna (Orange) The colors may vary, just be sure the radio turns off when the key is in the off position.
The dashboard on your car appears identical to my (UK) 2012 crv EX. So I wonder if the AVH2300NEX would fit my car. And would I also need the Scorpion bezel kit and the additional connecting harness. Any comment would be appreciated.
Hi Jaksclips, I believe you have the same body style because I know the video says 2006 but it's an 07, so the body style will be 2007-2012. Just put your vehicle information into Amazon and it will verify if the parts will fit your vehicle. Let me know how you make out, thanks.
Hi Osmin, The radio comes with its wire harness, you need to purchase the wire harness to connect to your vehicle. Go to Amazon or the auto parts store and find the adaptor for your vehicle, it will be listed by year, make, and model, then connect the two with the loose wire ends. Let me know if this helps.
Hi Edward, yes it will be the same for a 2010 and you'll need to buy the kit for the steering controls as well. Let me know how you make out, and nice slip of your link into the comment. It makes me wonder if you're really asking for my advice or if you're looking to promote Patty Peck Honda? Either way, I won't delete the comment just in case someone has the same question lol.

Question, my existing radio has an anti-theft red light on the upper left side. If I replace it with a carplay stereo would it work?

No Sir, there is no reason to cut any wires with this method therefore there are no exposed bare wires to worry about.
