even the cheapest, lowest end Delta fan will go forever. I have some that are 20-30 years old and still going strong.

I use similar 12 volt fans to circulate air in my off grid 12 volt solar powered home. Low current draw is my first consideration. I'd like to hook one up to pull smoke up my woodstove chimney.

Thank you for this video. Looking for a good fan for an RC motor dual fan setup that may incorporate 2 40m mx40 mm by 28 mm fans rated at 0.5 amps or higher and at least 20 CFM each
What is your take on the fans that have two impellers that push and pull in one fan housing, I'm intrigued by those

I know this post is old, but I am currently building a Threadripper Pro build, and I am looking for what approach I can take to use delta fans in my build. I am aware they may exceed the amps supported on the motherboard, so I was looking in how to go about it, like connecting them directly to the power supply, with a fan controller. This will be an air cooled build, with a Dynatron A38 cooler as well.... Since there isn't much of a Heatsink on the VRM, and I will be using ECC RAM that also doesn't have heatsinks....so air cooling is essential in this upcoming build.... Any input appreciated....

you can do a custom wiring job with the fan power wires running directly from the power supply and the control and speed wires still plugged into the motherboard. that way they will be speed controlled and monitored normally but the power won't be going through the board.

Thank you for this reliability post, it was my favorite. I would also appreciate if you also do one on solenoid water valves (like Asco). Keep up the good work.

I run these delta 120mm and 80mm fans in my PC (not server) but on the 5v rail.. do you know if there is any issue running these at a lower voltage?

Maybe your “normal” fan is a remanufactureed fan , maybe it just from a old Server cleaned up than ready to be sold about 20$ again.
these fans sell very cheap in China , about 20¥(3$)each because it is remanufactured.
