- If you’re staying at the Barcelo, Lopesan or Melia resorts, this local grocery store is located very close to the beach. It’s part of the Los Corales shopping area in Punta Cana, which also features several gift shops and restaurants. Well worth the 15 minute walk from Bavaro Beach.

I stayed at Ducassi Suits right across the street from the gift shop and that little super market and i loved it … i love that area of Punta Cana

excellent video, my daughter and I just did this walk. They have put a barrier in which can make it difficult to get off the beach. If it's shut, just walk a bit further and take the next left at the boats.

Thank you for your feedback. Much appreciated. Unfortunately, I’m not knowledgeable of the local coffee outlets. Back in the day, the Palma Real Mall had a specialty coffee store - but it has since been demolished to accommodate a new theme park. I will keep my eyes and ears open and let you know if I come across anything.
How long was the walk? 20? 30? minutes? 60? An hour and a half? Where can you buy local seasonal fruits?

Hi Andre, a fellow Canadian here! Might I suggest that you introduce your wife/partner when she is walking with you? At first, she seems to simply be a person walking behind you, rather than your partner!
Trish is somewhat camera shy and walking side by side on the streets of Punta Cana is practically impossible given the extremely narrow sidewalks. Ironically, off camera she is the extrovert and I’m a total introvert. Let’s see if she’ll make an appearance on camera this year!

We go to TD Bank and order Dominican Pesos a month before departure. They take a week or so to arrive. So in short, we use US dollars at the resort for tipping and incidentals and pesos off resort for beach bars and restaurants. Do note that most bars and restaurants automatically add a service or gratuity fee to your bill in addition to any taxes, but every establishment seems to have their own rules, so best to ask before you order!
