What does the future hold for El Cortecito in Punta Cana

- I've been visiting the village of El Cortecito in Punta Cana for over 25 years. I still remember how enchanting the seaside community was back in the day, with its colonial architecture and beautiful flowers adorning the window sills of its numerous businesses. Anchored by the Captain Cooks restaurant, it was a bustling community with a vibrant nightlife.
As I walk its streets today, El Cortecito is all but unrecognizable. Years of infrastructure neglect and beach erosion have taken a toll on the once thriving community, reducing it to a mere shell of its former self.
El Cortecito can bounce back, but it will require a sizeable investment from both the private and public sectors.
Great video. I will take my next vacation in Punta Cana.
Thank you for your Amazing, and intelligent review. I hope government pray attention to your videos. Great input
I also did enjoyed the video. Fortunally I have friends in the Dominican Goverment. I will make sure that they see the video.
Great video. Nobody does what you do. You are 1,000% right about the volume especially at the resorts.
Thank you 🙏🏻 for your kind words
Thank you for another great video! Amazing no booze on Election Day….
Yeah, that one caught us off guard 😂
What surprise me is to have such modern buildings but the electic wires look still of underdevelopped country. Webs of wires very often right in front of the windows.
It’s a wonder it all works - I’ve often had to dodge electrical wires while walking 🚶 the streets of Punta Cana
Thanks for this video, I had not heard of the erosion issues. It was great to see around El Cortisito from your perspective.
Thank you 🙏🏻 for the kind words. The community is important to Punta Cana’s future success, here’s hoping 🤞 it gets the love it deserves
Have to check out the Restaurant. Thanks for the tip!
Yeah, Onos is a gem 💎
Is the erosion affecting the resorts close by? Which resort are near El Cortisito?
The effect is most prominent at Vista Sol and the village of El Cortecito - fortunately, most other resorts in the area are coping well
