They changed the design for the fog lights. I think you may have missed that. My 21 touring fog lights aren’t the same style as that one.

Forester 2021 owner:
-- I wished all of that chrome was optional on all trim levels. I hate it. I'm considering Plasti Dip over it. :)
-- Subaru has too much Japanese style influence. Please make it more American, with simple and modern styling. The front is too busy. Just copy some design from the new Defender :)
-- too much piano black plastic
BTW: I'm still happy with my choice. There is no perfect vehicle on the market. I try to be a reasonable client :)
I enjoy your "manual type" videos. Thank you for these. I know they don't bring much views, but they bring much value for Subaru owners so please keep then coming. I don't care how you edit them as the content is so important.

I received my new 2022 Forester Touring in July, which was a month earlier than expected. I was quite surprised but not disappointed. It's a beautiful horizon blue pearl with the black leather interior. I am thrilled to have it and have learned a lot just by watching your videos. Keep up the good work and drive safely everyone!

I like how they sealed up the eye sight cameras to the windshield. I wasn't aware of the sensitivity of the camera until a week or so before I took delivery of my new Outback. I don't expect it to be a big deal but it is something to be aware of. I don't think it's a bad looking Forrester. Certainly an update from the 2021 models.

Got my Cascade Green Touring with brown interior a few weeks ago. My first Subaru after having mostly Mazdas and Hondas. Much nicer to drive than I anticipated. I test drove all the competitors and the Forester was the most comfortable by far for me. I am still learning how to manage steep and winding roads with the transmission. Thank you for your excellent Subaru videos. Next I will use your video to attempt to program the 4 digit PIN. The dealership offers a tutorial for new buyers but the instructor did not know how to program the PIN!

@@jraymond1988 I was very disappointed in the green color. It is definitely not a pretty green and does not look like the on line images I saw. It was a new color and there was nothing to compare it to. Otherwise very nice car and so enjoyable to drive. Do you take yours on rough roads? We drive ours on unpaved roads a bit.

Something I never see folks make videos about for the Forester: A demo of the 360 backup camera option. How to turn it on, how to setup multiple angles on the backup camera, etc. Would love to learn more about those features in the Forester. Thanks.

Unfortunately, the Forester doesn't have the 360 camera yet. It does however have the backup camera standard that turns on automatically when you put it in reverse

The new eyesight uses different lenses as well. I think from Swiss company.
It supposed to work better in unfavorable light conditions as well - like low light and when driving against the sun.
There's been some recalls with the new Eyesight in JP from Levorge, connected with steering wheel or something. So I'm not sure what causes it. Might bow be the cameras themselves.
I think it's a decent update actually.
I'm happy with ESite. It's great. It was one of the reasons of choosing Forester over CX-5.
It's nothing special, but I'm much less tired during long trips and it works great in high winds, which are a problem where I live.
The only anojying issue is on straight lines I often need to shake the steering wheel to let the software know I'm still holding the steering wheel :)

Just took delivery of a 2022 model Forester Limited- I noticed that the ride quality is much smoother / better then my 2020 Forester Touring and the interior noise level is quieter too . My Subaru dealer's service manager told me that there were changes made to the chassis and suspension on the 2022 model vs 2020. Can you Confirm/explain what they are? What did they do to reduce the overall noise level inside?

Thanks, Alex for the update on this 2022 model Forester, I love Subaru, but I cannot understand why Subaru takes so long to come out with Auto Folding Side Mirrors (for tight driveways and New YORK City), Shocks for the Hood instead of an old prop rod and Wireless Phone Charger, these technologies have been around for a quite a while now and Subaru take so long come out with them even when you are buying a top of the line the touring trim. Subaru's are not a cheap vehicle anymore I have been waiting for a quite a while to buy a new Subaru Forester, but these features are not available from Subaru. It's like it will never happen. Disappointed.

The hand gesture temp control is a gimmick and 5 degrees is a lot. It seems much better to just turn the temp control knob to control the temp a few degrees at a time. I also don't like the luggage hook so high up on the roof. The last thing I want is to have a backpack hung loose swing around in the back which can also block the rear view mirror.

Great video. Would have like to see what the daytime running lights looked like when turned on and also how they look with the turn signal activated. Every video that I've watched they either don't show them on or have the headlights on and it's hard to tell what just the daytime running lights look like.

I have a 2020 Forester and really like it but comparing it to my wife's 2020 Nissan Leaf I will say that the lack of a "all around" camera view is disappointing. Will they be offering an approach view camera in the future or an "all around" or "Bird's eye" camera? Also the cost to replace the windshield will only go up as they seal more stuff against it. Presently you will pay about $1400 when all said and done or whatever your deductible is. Great car for all weather situations though and I've hauled up to 1000 lbs of stones in the back with very little change to how it handles. I wish the towing capability would allow for something more than 1500lbs but I can hook a small garden trailer to it when needed. Last would be a dedicated slot for a large phone on say the passenger side of the center console

What country are you in? US trims share similar names but different trim features than, say in Canada. My Limited trim in Canada is second highest trim level, above the Sport and Wilderness, but under the Premier trim. Touring trim is below Sport. But in the States it’s different. It’s frustrating and confusing. Not sure why Subaru does that.

I wish the Forester had a stronger resemblance to the Ascent in both the front and rear. I personally like chrome trim around the vehicle.
Bright Aluminum polished wheels are a must. The Forester needs to have the dashboard of the Outback including the touch screen.

I just deposited on a 2023 touring in cascade green with the saddle brown interior. I think it's the best available color scheme for the touring trim. I have a VIP program discount and a loyalty coupon from SoA, so my price is well below MSRP which is rare these days. I hope the new my starts production soon.

Like the cascade green. Not quite the classic acadia green of 1st gen but a nice forest green nonetheless. Whats your top 3 must have accessories added to premium model? Went all weather floor mats cargo tray and splash guards.

I usually suggest the all-weather liners, splash guards, rear seat back protectors, approach lighting, and splash guards. The cargo tray is now standard on most trim levels but that's another good one to have.

Love the lower profile Eyesight module, and that it SHOULD free up a good portion of the windshield for EZPass, and dash cam mounting. Gripe as a Dashcam user, this eliminates an easy place to run my cable between the headliner and roof and run it down where the mirror power is. Love the Cascade green. The hand gestures are a little gimmicky to me, with how easy it is to get to the knob. I usually keep my hands around 4/8, so I can just slightly stretch my right arm down. The hooks seem like a good idea in theory... I'm interested in how they perform with something there while driving. I wouldn't want to accelerate and have something break the window. some hooks on the under side of the cargo shade support bar would be appreciated though! I have a few gripes with driver focus... first is the failure to read when I get in with my airpods in or without my glasses after the gym. Next is it yelling at me when I'm looking out the side window in a sweeping turn (or roundabout). IMO Subaru missed an opportunity here, they could have put the 11.6 inch system in here and REALLY cleaned up the center stack.
