Wayne and I are so happy we did this workshop with you last fall before the pandemic hit. Those memories and beautiful images have carried us through some boring months during the quarantine. Thanks for showing us your beautiful island.
I think that landscape photographers sometimes get too serious on occasion and forget that we are creating art. Editing is art in my opinion. Brilliant tips Adam! I am very much enjoying your channel! Thank you!
Great video, thank you. as I can see the join shows up on my phone , tablet and laptop. Just so that you know. Thank you again. Looking forward to the next video.
youll love it !! i purchased it about a year now i lovet everything about it ..i use it for landscape photography w the 32-64 mm lens ,,image quality ,,color,,DR n sharpness ..no complaints !
Great tutorial! By the way, I have to say I like the longer hair! Fits you really well! Great video as always! :) Oh yeah, beautiful images as always too!
Thanks for the video. In the beginning of the video you talked about the gfx 100s vs gfx 50r image quality and I was wondering how the two cameras compared.
Adam, I really enjoyed this and it is perfect timing for me with my Lightroom processing. I really like how you edited this image and it sure hits home for me. Thank you!
I really liked how you edited this picture. I might've just deleted the raw file thinking nothing was there. Cool trick with the dehaze slider giving it that glow effect.
All those images were beautiful! I really liked the one with all the back-lit branches too. Love the process you use to achieve that look. Funny you bring up the positive comments for parts of the photo that were added in post. My normal question is "did you photoshop that?" Or "wow, you have a great camera!" 🙄 Yeah Great video. Thanks for the all the tips! 👍 Hope you're getting some great conditions in the Rockies!! 🤗
Thanks Adam, always enjoy this sort of content; your clarity is appreciated. BTW, why not take Gavin along to the Rockies, he could carry the 250mm for you - just tell him it's the chocolate supply. ;-)
Clean shaven. Hair combed. Losing the Uncle Grumpy look? Looking forward tho the Canadian Rockies to come. Cheers. Smoke has been bad here in Montana as well.
Keeping it natural & not overworking your images is why you stand out. I can hold the camera for you while you carry the printer when you come over to the mainland if you want👍😂
I haven't really noticed much of a difference in image quality between older/newer cameras unless you are jumping up to 4x the pixel count with BSI chips.
🥰 Hey, cool you may try the GFX 100. Can’t wait for the results and your real world review by a landscape photographer’s perspective instead of all the specs reading only ones. What’s your favourite lens one from a landscape photographer’s perspective? If I once purchase one, I am not sure about which one to start with for landscape: the 32-64 (25-50, no OIS, but do I need it for landscape, 99% on tripod?) or the 45-100 (35-78), bracket values are full frame equivalent x 0.78, unfortunately no 32-100 is available, kinda the 24-70 equivalent. And for landscape, that difference (in terms of full frame) between 24 and 35 is huge.
Great tutorial! I love that you dissect each part of your processing so that we can follow along. One question. I notice the histogram on this image. Very much to the left. I get a lot of critcism for my images that have a histogram very left oriented. Is this acceptable given the nature of the images you are capturing?
Joys of the law of diminishing returns, as you spend more the improvement is less and less. It's a shame but at least it means if your a hobbyist you can get a good enough camera for very little 😁
I have a question, and it was something I was thinking about, and since you mentioned American politics, I thought I'd ask. " As landscape photographers, do you think that a stance should be taken on who to support? Considering that the medium is tied to making sure that the natural beauty of the land is preserved and so much is riding on this current election from an environmental standpoint. Obviously, no need to reveal who you would support (pretty personal), and really, no need to answer if you don't feel comfortable. It was just something I've been thinking about.
Hi Adam, I like your videos very much. May I totally off topic ask, what brand of strap for your glasses you use? I have to put off and on my glasses a lot of times, and I can't find a solution for storing my glasses, when I'm outdoors. Assuming you have a quite similar situation, maybe you can give me a hint ;) Many thanks in advance!
I grabbed mine from wish.com, they are just magnetic readers. Cost about $6.00 each so I grabbed half a dozen. They come apart magnetically at the nose piece.
Hi Adam: This was a very interesting and thought provoking video. I was wondering if you have considering using a Loupedeck within your workflow. I have used this device for several years now and I really like the ability to make fine adjustments with the various dials and rollers that are on the device. Keep safe. . . Cheers, Keith (Barrie, Ontario) P.S. The colours in Algonquin Park this year have been the best I have seen in many many years.
Adam, if you think $13,000 for a camera is a lot go look at what the first pro digital cameras cost in the 90's. I had pro photographer friends spending $40,000 to $60,000 US on bodies. (in today's dollars that would be $65,000 to $97,000) Then there's computers then and now. My first computer was the Apple ][ Plus with 48k memory, no lower case, no printer capability, no hard drive or floppy drive. I paid $1,400 for a computer that couldn't keep up with my watch today. In today's money that could buy you the new Apple Pro iMac.
So if we compare formats: lets say medium format standard cameras (some at least) are 6x7, 6x6, 6x9. So we can call the "medium format APSC" to 6x4,5, and this fuji medium format cameras are the micro 4:3 of the real medium format because their sensor size is 43.8mm x 32.9mm, is just a step up from Full frame, i dislike 100mpx, i love 50mpx for that kind of sensor but for a real 6x7, 6x6 or 6x9, nope? Anyone had a similar thought?
The artist that made it had it hanging in her studio for quite some time before she would sell it. My partner asked if she could purchase it back in 2000 but the artist wouldn't sell. It wasn't until 2006 or so that she decided to sell. It is hand died wool and hand made by an artist on Vancouver Island who's name escapes me at the moment.
you could get a 100 and all those expensive lenses and then when someone comments "Wow, you must have a really good camera !" you can stop and smiled back with a "Why, Yes - YES I do..." :) another good presentation btw. that late summer lul - you just came back from being on a tiny island in the middle of the ocean for quite a bit of time. Relax a bit... Now you need some time to get used to being back on a tiny little island west / north of Van. :)
Thanks very much for sharing. Beautiful result.
Wayne and I are so happy we did this workshop with you last fall before the pandemic hit. Those memories and beautiful images have carried us through some boring months during the quarantine. Thanks for showing us your beautiful island.

Great tutorial! By the way, I have to say I like the longer hair! Fits you really well! Great video as always! :) Oh yeah, beautiful images as always too!
Great video Adam. Your way of processing amazes me! 👌👌👌

Great video. Thanks for the all the tips! 👍 Hope you're getting some great conditions in the Rockies!! 🤗
Hello Adam, and thank you for sharing your skills. Certainly something I would wish to try....
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you . Have many attempts at shooting similar scenes in the Pacific Northwest , need to give them another attempt after seeing this !
Great work Adam, thanks for the insight! The join button is on my phone 👍
Really nice to see you edit that image Adam, it was simpler than I thought but I kept on wanting to hit F on my keyboard for some reason.
Thanks Adam, always enjoy this sort of content; your clarity is appreciated. BTW, why not take Gavin along to the Rockies, he could carry the 250mm for you - just tell him it's the chocolate supply. ;-)
Big Beard 😂😂😂
Clean shaven. Hair combed. Losing the Uncle Grumpy look? Looking forward tho the Canadian Rockies to come. Cheers. Smoke has been bad here in Montana as well.
Thanks for posting. Strange seeing you without some sort of cap/hat. Waiting for the Rocky Mountain photos
Jeff Wilson yeah, I actually went back to check if it was him, confused. Lol.
Great video Adam... Good luck with the new equipment... 👍
Difference between 'taking and image' and 'creating an image'. Artists create.
thanks for the vid mate, very formal
Keeping it natural & not overworking your images is why you stand out. I can hold the camera for you while you carry the printer when you come over to the mainland if you want👍😂
I always learn a great tip or two in these, Great video and image Adam!
I learned something - again - I subscribed. Thanks for a great channel
But don't forget the Hasselblad has a 1TB of internal storage!
Love the Sasquatch Hoodie!
I haven't really noticed much of a difference in image quality between older/newer cameras unless you are jumping up to 4x the pixel count with BSI chips.
Between you and me there isnt a great deal of difference
Can’t wait to see how your trip to the Rockies turns out.
The join button does show up on a smart phone. Great video
Great video and tips.. thanks
Hmmm, so you actually do go indoors! lol. Thanks for posting.

Great video and lovely edit.
PS Do you have a portrait in the attic like Dorian Gray, as you seem to be going backwards in age!! 👍
The Dorian effect is caused by all the fresh air and hiking exercises landscape/outdoor photographers are breathing 😇
Someone's about to get another award this year for that hair. Hopefully Gavin won't steal that one too.
Stephen Topia , 😂😂😂
Makes him look younger!
You'll buy one...
Joys of the law of diminishing returns, as you spend more the improvement is less and less. It's a shame but at least it means if your a hobbyist you can get a good enough camera for very little 😁
Great tutorial, Adam! The "Join button" comes up on phones, at least on my Samsung. Might be different on iPhones. Take care.
whoa that is a whopper!
Good processing content!
I like the long hair. Starting to look like one of the blonde henchmen in Diehard 1

Oye, ¿ No te parece ver al Chavo del 8 subiendo por el árbol ? Creo haberlo visto !!
Excellent 🙂
Going backpacking. Decisions, decisions. Do I carry 3 liters of water or a single lens? Well they each have a mass of 3 kg.
Love the hair.....I thought I was looking at Joe Walsh at 144p......
Great little tip. I do miss your processing content. Thinkin I might try out your subscription.
Thanks for the video Adam but where is uncle grumpy? No hat and with the new look this is uncle happy looking forward to the rockies videos

@@QuietLightPhoto Thank you so much for your quick reply! I wasn't aware, that these are complete glasses ;)
I'll give it a try.
Stylish Uncle Grumpy? I don't know, we need another name. A temporary one.
Looking forward to both the photos for image quality and love the Rockies...is that Nick Page on your sweatshirt? ;-)

AG, have you seen a significant improvement in the images you made with the 50 mega pixel Fuji over the Nikon?
Is this the new David Sylvian look?
Not as much "dehaze" as "rehaze".....Love the tip!~

very true. My first CF card 856mb was $1000.

Law of diminishing returns on cameras.....
Extreme noise generation camera
A little off topic but I would love to know the story of that hooked rug over your right shoulder.

How come you are looking 15 years younger?
