I have a question for a long time now, why leave the glue to dry and then warm it again? Does it glue better that way (if yes does that count for every glue?), or this is how you are supposed to use shoe glue?
Only certain glues work better with heat, like rubber cement, shoe glue, certain types of "super" glue (depending on what it's being used on). It largely comes down to the material you are trying to glue together, and what type of glue you are using. More coarsely porous material like wood wouldn't get much benefit from heating up wood glue, but rubber has much smaller pores, so time, and then heat, helps the glue penetrate as much as possible, and then the heat also helps the glue of both parts be actively able to bond to each other. There's other glues, usually aerosol type glues, that use multiple coats in timed stages, the first to engage with the material, the second to get the parts stick to each other, much like how the heat makes the shoe glue tacky again.
@@ceodd2298 thank you for the answer! I have seen some shoemaker or shoetaker use water with it, so I was wondering. Does that mean they are not doing it right?

I've been shining shoes and cleaning leather gear for over 30 years, and while it is advisable to not let soap lather sit very long if you are trying to correct leather that already have water damage, like these shoes had, there's not a single good reason to not use water. Yeah, he really should have used water with the soap. You may not be able to get water stains out, especially from a light colored leather, but you can stain the rest of the leather to match, which in my opinion looks better.
I never would have mistaken this shoe for a Vans sneaker. The leather is beautiful, though. You made it beautiful.
Henderscheme did design it based of a Vans sneaker

Hello, I really love your videos and your work! I was wondering, why no use of water with the saddle soap on them?
It is made of leather, so discoloration and shape can change if it touches water. That's why we use soap that doesn't use water. 😀

Hi why did you not use wet towel with the saddle soap for cleaning the outer? Thanks!
If I had to guess, I’d say it’s because the shoe is partially suede. Water and suede don’t mix very well
Amazing 🤩

It hurts to see these Hender Scheme’s in such bad condition, but so satisfying to see them get some care
I mean it's not even bad except for the salt/water marks. You need to be really careful with the leather until you establish a patina.

Could I wash it using saddle soap and water, like usual? Why did you do it without water?
My thoughts exactly, why do all that resto work and leave the water stains, water with the saddle soap would have sorted that.
When I think of quality, vans never comes to mind.
