Thank you so much for all the continued love + new eyeballs on this vid! I've got a new video where I tried finding my Kibbe Body Type - check it out! :) ua-cam.com/video/8GwUBgLuTJU/v-deo.html
the thing erica said about wearing a necklace to be able to wear colors that don't suit you as much is really cool! I didn't realize until now but I think I kind of do that already lol, I wear a black choker with pretty much everything, and I think black looks good on me and having black accents makes a lot of colors look better on me. like I could never do a full white outfit, it'd have to be a mix of black and white. I absolutely LOVE lavender/lilac but it looks weird with my natural hair color (red) so I'm def taking notes here lmao. I wanna wear light purples so bad.
That’s so good you’ve discovered that for yourself! It’s a great way to bend the rules of colour. There will definitely be a light purple out there that will look gorgeous on you 💜
Your colour analyst did a great job: so many tidbits of information for you to take away along with the main result and colour swatches. I was part of one of those parties in the 80's and was told I was a Summer, based upon the colour of the veins in my wrist. I could never find anything to wear. So I paid to have my colours analyzed later, using a computer. Autumn but a version who needs vibrancy and contrast along with warmth. Every colour in my palette suits me and I have a closet full of clothes that I love to wear.
So good that you discovered your best colours via a colour analysis and you now have a closet full of clothes you love to wear……this is music to my ears!!! ❤
I had this done a good 15 years ago. It was a gift from my mum and sisters. It was a great tool to get done as a a young woman. It really helped me isolate better what worked for me. They even sold make up palettes and lipsticks etc that suited your season. Back then it was only divided into the four seasons but I find it interesting that they've delved further into isolating it more. My mum, myself and all of my sisters are winters in the old school definition but all have such different skin undertones. I have this dress in this particular colour that looks great on me to the point that I always get compliments when I wear it or a similar colour top. It is in the colours I'm recommended to wear as a 'winter'. My mum tried my dress on and she looked blah and sallow in the same colour and we literally had a puzzled conversation about how a 'winter' approved colour looked great on me but blah on her. Watching this explains it - so thanks. I might have myself and my mum to get our colours done again with the new subcategories.
Yay! So glad you got to do this Lucy :D and what Erica said about the 3 types of soft/muted/cool summers having elements of 1 of the other seasons makes sooooo much sense now! Makes me wanna reassess my whole wardrobe for items I don’t reach for much, maybe it was just the color not vibin’ 🤔😂
Colour theory asmr is one of my favourite flavours of asmr lately, so I was excited to see this video and it did not disappoint! Your dynamic with Erica was great and this was so enjoyable! 😊
This was so fun to watch! I have this slight problem where I’m always in between two foundation shades because I’m cool overtoned but lots of yellow undertones and then i just have a natural blush. I have medium brown eyes but when i wear prescription contacts for some reason they’re brown with lots of orange in it. It’s actually really pretty. I usually like pastel clothes but recently I’ve gotten into sage green, grayish blue, lots of muted colors and i hate overly bright or overly dark colors except black.
The foundation problem you are experiencing is a common one. I found the same as I have a warm undertone and a cool overtone too and it’s through trial and error that I have found one that works for me. It sounds like you are a beautiful mixture of warm and cool and his lovely you have those warm elements in your eyes. It sounds like you are doing a great job of discovering what looks best on you 🌸
That was so fun! It seemed like you had a really nice time, and it's so cool and validating to see that she confirmed a lot of things you had already noticed about your own coloring.
i've been thinking about getting a personal colour analysis for the last few weeks, and now seeing this video feels like a sign to make it happen sooner rather than later haha thank you for sharing, great video as always❤
I love how the two of you interacted with each other. And your analysis makes perfect sense to me. My first thought was "she kinda looks like a winter but not quite" and the cool summer is just exactly that. You're also very pretty, I would guess you have a lot of Ingenue essence to you, but I'm not a professional, so I could be wrong. I also loved the way Erica explained the three subtypes of summer. It was so simple yet enlightening. Thank you for sharing your experience. This video was very fun to watch. If you ever get "Kibbe-typed", please do a video (I didn't find one on your channel, but maybe I overlooked it).
I loved her saying how each of the three are a little leaning towards another season, makes so much sense! I always like that she wasn't negative, unlike carol bailey on UA-cam whos just not a nice person, Erica looks a much nicer person to have your colours done by.
I had my colors done in 1984, too! At that time in my life I had my hair highlighted and tanned a lot (too bad about that) and I was an Autumn. Boy, has my coloring changed since then...had my colors done last week and it turns out that I'm a medium, cool, Spring.
Love this! I had my colors done 2-3 months ago! I knew I was cool, but I had gotten the season wrong! Apparently clear bright colors work much better for me than pastels. Now I can girlboss even harder... I'd love to see an update video or a video in which you try wearing only "your colors" for a week... Something like that! Thanks Lucy!!
I’ve been cycling out my whole closet full of autumn and summer clothes and replacing them with bright/clear spring clothes. I’ve been absolutely in love with the change! I’m getting away with less complexion products in my makeup routine and I feel so much more comfortable in my bright saturated clothes, even though I thought soft muted tones were my safe place before
Tangential but: Jersey cows do indeed produce the most and the richest cream, but it’s Guernsey cows that produce the golden milk, due to the amount of vitamin A in it!
I like bright grass green and light yellow, but I'm probably some type of autumn and they look bad on me. So I have decorated my apartment with the bright colours to enjoy them😊 There are plenty of shades I also like that actually suit me💜 I'm in the process of trying to buy only flattering tops and getting rid of the most horrendous coloured tops in my wardrobe. For bottoms I'm trying not to buy the most unflattering colours, but if I have them already they can stay.
Thank you for this video, which is really interesting and helpful. It's great to see the process, and it just so happens that my colouring is similar, especially my skin tone, so this really validates my own conclusions. It's great that Erica works the sensible way, by focusing primarily on skin, rather than being swayed by hair colour.
I’m way more Yang features, pale cool overtones but kind of peachy/warm undertones, dark/red toned natural hair, hazel eyes and pretty much I think a Cool (Dark) Winter palette looks the best on me.
that sounds like a complete mess of confusion and contradiction. It's undertone that determines the colours that flatter your skin. You are likely to have cool undertones.
This was really fascinating! Thanks for sharing your experience. I’ve been on a color palette kick trying to figure myself out too (definitely a winter, but which type??) and am semi considering getting a coaching session like this. It’s very helpful to see what goes into one! You’re a beautiful summer!
Also this video was such a great help! It really solidified my suspicions for my type - I am definitely a soft summer. Not going to go into it but the whole explanation plus the final statement of the three summers really helped! (Soft summer is a summer+autumn almost).
awww you're so cutee I also went to the consultant and I look good with all the colours that are wearing you out because summer is a softer winter as your consultant was saying and I am in the brightest of the spectrum, bordering Spring (a Bright Winter / Sprinter). I loved the online analysis you did to see if you would be surprised too
I really enjoyed the video, but it doesnt make any sense to allow clients to have foundation on. She had to ask if you have freckles or "pink" in your cheeks. The main reason why this needs to be done bareface is because most of the time we dont use the right tone/undertone foundation/general makeup that suits us. The point is to find out the colours that make us shine naturally with no makeup on. So that is the part that really doesnt make any sense to me. Besides that, the video was very interesting.
Wonderful video. Like me, you're cool but you've ended up with orange hair [mine was through using dye that have a bit of 'lifting agent' in them - which makes darker hair, no matter how much of an ash brown - go orange] when the dye fades. You could use 'deposit only' colour while the orange grows out. That's working for me at the mo!
ash tones are the hardest to maintain in hair, especially if you use home dye. It's due to the innate chemistry of hair itself and how dyes work. Bleached hair always wants to revert to copper tones.
The best way to use that filter is to it outside on a clear day. Sunlight just shows your skin and colors together without the tint of various indoor lights.
Erica made a big mistake. No colour expert would even start an analysis, without asking the client to remove all make- up! You had foundation on and that would have blocked the pink. I noticed your pink arms, at once. She needed to see all your facial skin tones, moles, freckles and blemishes straight away, and not ask you what your complexion was really like. Why didn't you remove your make-up? I had my colours done in 1987 and despite the cost, have no regrets. Even though I had tinted my hair too light around that time, my complexion alone gave all the answers. My eyes were the second clue. The colours I secretly liked, but never wore, were brought forward and the colours that I thought I should like (some if them my Mother's) were discarded. The colours made me smile and my face light-up.That was Carole Jackson's Four Season Colour System from 'Colour Me Beautiful' and her four palettes are still online today. See which one you prefer. In analysis, you were given your main season, plus four colours in to your flow season. My season was Autumn, but straight away: gold, yellow, pumpkin, salmon and jade were removed from the palette, but I got to keep my milk coffee, mustard, olive, khaki, deep periwinkle, turquoise , terracotta, forest green and tomato etc. My Summer Flow Colours were: cocoa, mid-periwinkle, deep blue green and pastel lemon yellow. My colouring at that time was: titian hair, ivory/gold skin and petrol eyes. Now, I'm light golden blonde (dyed from grey), ivory-gold skin with petrol eyes. The hair and skin tone do get lighter, but the basic look doesn't change. I now tend to wear the lighter colours in my Autumn palette, for my tops, and the darker colours, I keep for my skirts and trousers. I actually do wear the whole palette, but the very brights, I save for handbags or a sweater on the dullest Winter day. My favourite lipstick is cinnamon. During a make-up session with CMB, I was given an olive green eye pencil. That, strangely, turned my petrol eyes in to green, straight away. I was told that my best yellow was Summer's pastel lemon yellow and the one colour I could live in, was Autumn's olive green. I was also told that "you're lucky - as your colours fade, they actually look better". A faded beauty. Long live colour! I can't urge people enough to spend some money and "go and get their colours done". Goid luck. Jane Hook.
Thank you Jane for pointing this out, you are absolutely right Jane! We typically ask our clients to be make up free. In some circumstances a light coverage of make up is appropriate for filming and if it had impeded my ability to see all the different aspects of Lucy’s skin tone then she would have been make up free. I’m so pleased to hear you love your colours and how wonderful they have served you well since 1987. I love Colour Me Beautiful and that is where I started my journey. I was trained in the flow seasons and it just makes so much sense 🌸
You are absolutely right Jane! I two was trained as a professional color and image consultant through color me beautiful back in the 80s. I had my own business with it and I also worked through JCPenney, the only store that carried color me beautiful products at the time. I insisted on bringing my own lighting, which was true daylight lighting to do my consulting. I told the store that I would not do it without them because I thought I was lying to my patrons by doing it any other way. I always had my patrons remove their make up, and I always wore white to neutralize any distracting colors. I do want to add that I had the patrons look up at their faces and not so much the color to see the changes in their faces as I swapped the colors out. It’s a bit harder for them to see the changes if they’re only looking at the colors that they do or don’t like. I still work at it from time to time with the 12 season color theory. I hope you enjoy your colors Lucy it’s fun to have them done.
Interesting! I was wrong about you. Someone did tell me in a comment section that I might be a summer, but my hair and eyes are darker and cooler in color than yours, which makes me think I’m on the right track calling myself a winter.
Ugh, I’ve just spent an hour on the phone trying to get through my GP so I’m late. Can’t wait to see what they told you. I don’t really care what my colours are, I’ll still wear black and purple. :P I’ll skip on TikTok, I’m too old for that platform, heh.
my mom had a TON of these personal color books in the 80s. I'm pretty sure I'm some sort of cool winter. but someone recently told me my eyes have too much green for that. so idk lol
no eye colour is not relevant for genetic reasons. You can inherit eye colour from one person and skin type from another. And there are plenty of summers and winters with green eyes
I spent like 2 weeks trying to work mine out, I already knew I was a winter but had been living in denial pretending I was autumn BC I love mustard 😅 but after dying my hair orange I was like nope😅 anyway I'm a bright winter..or a true winter but I like bright better so it'll do
The way she said “hello everyone” in the beginning was so fast and blended together with her accent that it sounded like she said “hello Iran” and I was like…I don’t think her accent sounds like she’s in Iran 😂
I thought you aren't supposed to see the color relfected on your face. And I thought a lot of the colors chosen here definitely reflect on your face. This was very interesting.
I agreed with most of this but I thought of the two greens at 0:30' you looked best in the first one, not the second. And with the two blues at 00:26'28 the first looked slightly better though I agree it does wear you a bit. But then, the colours probably look different on screen to what they are in real life. Interested to know what colour your eyes are?
This current trend is definitely interesting to me but I also decided not to do this for myself. I just look at colors and wear what pleases my eye. I'm too much of a rule breaker for this stuff.
Before watching this whole video, I will say there is a BIG difference between a "summer" and a "spring". The former leans towards cool tones, looks best in silver jewelry, and generally looks OK in black and white. The latter leans towards warm tones, looks best in gold jewelry and is washed out by wearing black and white near the face. Also, that TikTok color wheel thing doesn't really help.
@@LucyLivinYT I did! Your clothes and the colors you style yourself with always look amazing on you 😍 I've been enjoying you experimenting with new formats 💝
no they're not. All the chatter before she got out the fabric swatches was irrelevant. Freckling is determined by your Fitzpatrick Phototype. The two fairest of those types can be any of the seasons.
Thank you so much for all the continued love + new eyeballs on this vid!
I've got a new video where I tried finding my Kibbe Body Type - check it out! :)

I’m so glad that I’m not the only one who is weirdly obsessed with color theory lately.
It’s a fabulous obsession Jilly!
I don’t think being into personality tests is self-obsessed, I think it’s introspective 😉
Great video! I would’ve thought soft autumn but maybe it’s the dyed brows and hair.

This was so interesting to watch Lucy, I would love to know my personal color too. Glad that you were right on the colors you use lol.
I'm so glad you enjoyed 🥺💗 and yes I felt moderately validated that I'm somewhat in the right field lmao 💀💖

So happy to see a new video! I love colour theory, really want to find my own out - I’d loveeeee to see you do a video on the Kibee body types
Awww thank you so much sweet pea! Trying my best do the weekly upload 😤 and yes a Kibbe video is definitely on my list of to-dos!
I had this done a good 15 years ago. It was a gift from my mum and sisters. It was a great tool to get done as a a young woman. It really helped me isolate better what worked for me. I too am also so into that particular brand of ASMR haha so it was so fun to try in person! Erica is so lovely :,,)
Just saw a few frames in Safiya's new video from this one of yours - grats Lucy!
Awww thank you 😭💕 Was such a lovely surprise today 💖
Erica is super helpful, I love how she explained everything .
Aussie beauty therapist here. We learned colour theory in 1999 and I've been enthusiastic ever since! Great video
It sounds like you are doing a great job of discovering what looks best on you 🌸

i've been thinking about getting a personal colour analysis for the last few weeks, and now seeing this video feels like a sign to make it happen sooner rather than later haha
thank you for sharing, great video as always❤
Oooh hopefully you enjoy what just got uploaded 😅💖 hahaha
I loved her saying how each of the three are a little leaning towards another season, makes so much sense! I always like that she wasn't negative, unlike carol bailey on UA-cam whos just not a nice person, Erica looks a much nicer person to have your colours done by.
This was really interesting. I had my colours done in 1984. I'm an autumn and i've always gravitated to that pallette. Lisa
I had my colors done in 1984, too! At that time in my life I had my hair highlighted and tanned a lot (too bad about that) and I was an Autumn. Boy, has my coloring changed since then...had my colors done last week and it turns out that I'm a medium, cool, Spring.

Watching you go through this process made my brain hurt but in a good way.
I want to do this now it looks so freaking fun!
Great content Lucy! This was very interesting. I’m going to my closet now to see what colors I have and try to guess my colors!!
I’ve been absolutely losing my mind trying to figure this out for myself but this was one of the most helpful and pleasant videos I’ve seen ☺️
Lol! Actually I figured it out when you did the tik tok analysis , I knew you were cool summer!
Ok I love Erica so much. Can we get her to do colours for all the Aussie-tubers?
Awwww thank you Tricia ☺️ I would absolutely love to do that lol!! Doing this with Lucy was so much fun 🌸
I’ve been cycling out my whole closet full of autumn and summer clothes and replacing them with bright/clear spring clothes. I’ve been absolutely in love with the change! I’m getting away with less complexion products in my makeup routine and I feel so much more comfortable in my bright saturated clothes, even though I thought soft muted tones were my safe place before
Oh gorl! Even your profile pic looks like a very healthy spring ❤️
So good you’ve discovered your colours!
I felt you were a Cool Summer from the thumbnail with the pink shirt.
Ahhhhhh yes I love color theory!! I’m so happy you did this. In your last video talking about it I hoped you would.

Huh! I never knew that. Thank you, I’ve learnt something new today ❤️
That gorgeous green on you and your beautiful brown hair is giving Sailor Jupiter vibes ✨️ 😍
Wasn’t it gorgeous on her!!! 💚
YES
I like bright grass green and light yellow, but I'm probably some type of autumn and they look bad on me. So I have decorated my apartment with the bright colours to enjoy them😊
There are plenty of shades I also like that actually suit me💜 I'm in the process of trying to buy only flattering tops and getting rid of the most horrendous coloured tops in my wardrobe. For bottoms I'm trying not to buy the most unflattering colours, but if I have them already they can stay.
That’s such a great idea to do that! They are very happy bright colours to decorate with 💛💚
OMG IM EXACTLY THE SAME! I'm so happy to finally find an analysis that basically matches my cool muted palette 🌈
So glad to hear you found your colours 🌸
Your skin tone looked much warmer in the filter than on camera.
You're a delight and she's a delight, it was very interesting!!
no YOU are a delight omg thank you for watching :,,,)
Thank you so much and yes isn’t Lucy just an absolute delight! ❤️
That was very interesting to see! Been very curious about colours lately and this was helpful
100% you are a cool tone palette. It's why you like silver jewelry
this was SO COOL i love this stuff♥️♥️ i’m gonna need you to start wearing some of jewel tones missy!!
Thank you for this video, which is really interesting and helpful. this was so good, you need to become a colour specialist!
IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS!!
omg thank you bb 🥺💖 I always appreciate your support and I hope you love it! 💕💗
That colour consultant is worth her weight in gold
your skin is so clear you looked good in most of the drapes :)
I’m way more Yang features, pale cool overtones but kind of peachy/warm undertones, dark/red toned natural hair, hazel eyes and pretty much I think a Cool (Dark) Winter palette looks the best on me.

Something about this video was very calming
I've been trying to understand the differences between the summers, and this had me finally get it, thank you so much!

yes the whole process involves seeing the effects on the skin, so you can't cover it up
Always cover your hair when it's colored.
I just wanted to say that your makeup looks so lovely today! Whatever you’re using is perfect 💜
Don't know if you heard, but a clip of this video is in Safiya's new video!
Erica is giving me Kath Day-Knight vibes in the best way!

She should have her colours done at Colour Analysis Studio in Melbourne. They are the best, along with Carol Brailey in Toronto.

Yeah! Love this!
This was awesome!
Your coloring looks similar to mine. I’m guessing winter because that’s also what I think I am.
I’ll skip on TikTok, I’m too old for that platform, heh.
Omgsh how does one go about booking a session with Erica? She's in a different state than I am :( great video, makes me want to try!
Awwwww Erika seemed so sweet! 💖
She was so lovely! We chatted a bunch off camera too haha, she's such a delight!
Awwww thank you! I was lucky to have the most delightful client in Lucy 🌸
I’m very close to your coloring and soft face, but my hair and eyes are a bit darker. I wonder if I’m the same!
My guess: You look like you'd be a light or soft summer, but I'm excited to watch and find out what your stylist says!
Omg that tiktok filter is not even close to your true facial coloring 🤣
Thanks for watching 💕 Hope you enjoy! 💖
not a light summer. They are light blondes.
Super helpful, I have the same skin, hair, and eyes as you! Must be the English heritage 😂
my mom had a TON of these personal color books in the 80s. I'm pretty sure I'm some sort of cool winter. but someone recently told me my eyes have too much green for that. so idk lol
no eye colour is not relevant for genetic reasons. You can inherit eye colour from one person and skin type from another. And there are plenty of summers and winters with green eyes
I felt as though the colour analyst was cut off quite a lot. I’d like to have heard more from her
I spent like 2 weeks trying to work mine out, I already knew I was a winter but had been living in denial pretending I was autumn BC I love mustard 😅 but after dying my hair orange I was like nope😅 anyway I'm a bright winter..or a true winter but I like bright better so it'll do
So good that you’ve worked it out and found you liked the brighter colours better. Yep the orange hair would have been total confirmation for you!!
It was amazing how bad the cream looked lol. I am the same. You picked the 3 favourite colours I would have picked lol
I kind of wanna do this... but I probably don't have time nor money for it atm.... one day maybe
The way she said “hello everyone” in the beginning was so fast and blended together with her accent that it sounded like she said “hello Iran” and I was like…I don’t think her accent sounds like she’s in Iran 😂
That pink looks beautiful on you
what's the tic tic color app called?
I thought you aren't supposed to see the color relfected on your face. And I thought a lot of the colors chosen here definitely reflect on your face. This was very interesting.
I agreed with most of this but I thought of the two greens at 0:30' you looked best in the first one, not the second. And with the two blues at 00:26'28 the first looked slightly better though I agree it does wear you a bit. But then, the colours probably look different on screen to what they are in real life. Interested to know what colour your eyes are?
Again, when you have hair dyed the wrong tones it really needs to be covered up for analyses to be done correctly.
This current trend is definitely interesting to me but I also decided not to do this for myself. I just look at colors and wear what pleases my eye. I'm too much of a rule breaker for this stuff.
First time I’ve ever agreed and seen it for myself
Before watching this whole video, I will say there is a BIG difference between a "summer" and a "spring". The former leans towards cool tones, looks best in silver jewelry, and generally looks OK in black and white. The latter leans towards warm tones, looks best in gold jewelry and is washed out by wearing black and white near the face. Also, that TikTok color wheel thing doesn't really help.
Always glad to see a new video of you girl!
stop that is so sweet 🥺 thank you so much I hope you love it!! 💖
@@LucyLivinYT I did! Your clothes and the colors you style yourself with always look amazing on you 😍 I've been enjoying you experimenting with new formats 💝
I hate cream to, insted of white, but black is to hard I like brown.
What jeans are you wearing in this video? They look so snatched 💕
These are the A Brand Carrie Jeans! They're actually a lil more of a baggy / relaxed fit on me but they're super comfy C:
I'm 2:47 in and I'm going to guess you are a winter of some kind but I dunno just putting my guess out here before I watch further
no in every case the lighter shades looked better and the black was a no-no
Freckles are a indicator? Cus I got some on my face and a bunch on my arms
no they're not. All the chatter before she got out the fabric swatches was irrelevant. Freckling is determined by your Fitzpatrick Phototype. The two fairest of those types can be any of the seasons.
A cooler hair color would look marvelous instead of warm reddish
Can you do a video figuring out your kibbe body type?
I dont think you can be either a summer or a spring as theyre different tones (cool v warm)
correct, you have to identify the undertone first before you then go into the two seasons and then subgroups for that undertone
