Don't worry folks, I cleaned the room and bedding super well so the stains wouldn't set AND told the hotel staff so they were aware - I would never leave a mess behind, and I have deep respect for folx who clean!

@@StumpKitchen oh interesting! most of the people i know who say "malk/melk" (all of whom are from Ontario, interestingly) also say "bah-gel." As far as I understand, it has to do with regional dialect differences and vowel shifts. it could be that you and Alison have grown up with or just had more contact with 2 different dialect groups.
