He may not be fast, but he's tough! Trailbreaker/Trailcutter is a very underrated Autobot. I noticed that most people latch onto Wheeljack, Sideswipe, Cliffjumper, or Jazz of Autobots that aren't Optimus Prime or Bumblebee (the latter has become infamous as a shelfwarmer in the live-action movie and Prime waves of figures). Every version of Transformers has a character that's overstocked by stores; but even proto-SUVs need love when they're not Ironhide or Ratchet.
It's nice to see a non-fighter jet/armoured military vehicle transformer that has a weapon that looks like it actually *belongs* on vehicle mode, rather than being a robot mode gun/sword/whatever that gets shoved into a vehicle mode socket. I wish they'd make that kind of effort to integrate other transformer's robot mode weapons into their vehicle modes.
lots of people have already reviewed the comic when it came out as spotlight Trailcutter several months ago. the comic is just an extra that comes with the toy.
Enjoyed the review - I think I'm actually looking forward to Hoist more than Trailcutter, when as a kid being given G1 Hoist not G1 Trailbreaker was a bit gutting :D
There isn't that big of a difference though really, his chest isn't as wide as Megatron or Trailcutter but it's also less hollow. I think (though I dont have him) Bumblebee is thowing off the average more than the others, he seems far to tall.
While I still have yet to get Megatron out of this wave, I actually like Bumblebee the best and Trailcutter the least. That said, I like all three that I have, and honestly, the order is entirely all because of varying transformation issues - my Bumblebee's joints are fantastic, but my Orion Pax has some tabs that are quite bothersome (I had to file one down to make some panels sit flush). Trailcutter would be great, but I wish there was a stopper for the grey pieces the arms are on in alt mode.
I love this figure! Of the wave megatron is my favorite followed by trailcutter and then orion pax. Bumblebee is okay but i don't like the yellow used for hime. Great review!
I like the look of this guy in bot mode, but like you said, I'm not crazy about the gun/shield. It just seems lazy to me. I understand that it works in the alt-mode, but it's very clearly the top of the truck just sitting on his arm. Based on what you said, though, I'm looking forward to the Hoist repaint. Hopefully his weapon won't be quite as obviously a part from his alt-mode.
within the circumstances of his respective spotlight issue he is experiencing immense dissatisfaction that he do not obtain one recently. so he commenced smothering his melancholy feelings... in booze at swerve's recently developed bar!
Best answer is "magic of editing"! PS:Is it bad that after this, the BH Cyberverse and Legends(toy) and Legends(the game) and his chat with whirl, I now automatically think TrailCUTTER than BREAKER?
Do I hear ya with the Megatron comic: phenomenal dialogue from Megatron and Starscream(spoiler? probably not--those two are tied together by the red thread of fate). Not a bad figure either, although I do have issues with the exterior details of his wing-tip weapon, though. Oh yeah, we're talking about trailblazer (I refuse to call him trailCUTTER). My bad.
To bad about his shoulders, though the only one I really wan't is Orion Pax. Just sucks that SoCal doesn't seem to get any new transformers in retail for about 6 months after everyone else already has it.
Yo Peaugh, great review my man! Quick question for you, did you ever get a new tripod? You didn't seem to have any issues with it during this review. Anyway, good work man!
I'm sure you've probably answered this question already, but do you have someone with you that transforms the figures for you? Cause I don't recall seeing a cut, and those figures for the size comparison went from vehicle to robot pretty quick!
I would pick most other TF's before BB, there will always be shelf warmers of that guy long after the others have sold out. On a side note though, you keep talking about scaling issues with Orion Pax even though he is a deluxe figure. Surely after all these years you should have accepted that all toys within a price point will be roughly the same size?
But that's what Peaugh does best. There are people who spend 10 minutes talking about the box, there are people who do great character bios & analysis, but really some folks just want to get to the meat of the product. The comic is "part" of the package but not essential and I'd rather more footage be spent on the figure itself.
And another personal observation: I can't stand the mediocre paint job on Bumblebee's forearms, which are black plastic with a measly double-coat of yellow paint which gives a somewhat greenish appearance overall. That and the minuscule detail on his head---so disappointing considering how much I like the weapon. Still, I'll never buy it. And to think, the multiple times I was in toy aisles, I put TB at the bottom of my list and disregarded him. Glad I picked him up today. Solid review as always
I don't get why all the hate to this comment. Seriously ppl, it would seem like you don't want to accept that simple fact. You are mostly grown men watching toy reviews and losing your time in the mean time. Deal with it or stop doing it. Simple. So don't act all offended when someone just points the obvious out.
Art style, writing, coloring...plenty of things to talk about. Heck, just even show the darn thing. Also it could come at the end with a spoiler warning. Still a great toy review, just wish someone would go into a bit more detail.
The Rodimus Stars were being given out by Rodimus himself at TFcon. They're awesome.

Great look at at a totally underrated character. Thanks for sharing!
trailbreaker is also in it, he is on earth, so separate charcters, I think.
Excellent job then, I seriously thought you must have had an assistant!
i glad ol' peaugh still keeps most vids under 10 unlike another vid who seams to make them longer and longer. so i can see peaugh's vids at work
I see that this Trail"cutter" will be the Vehicon of the idw wave
I have yet to find him and I want him so badly. I only have Bumblebee of the IDW generations figures.
It makes sense because pax was much weaker and smaller before he got the matrix.

A size comparison with an earlier wave deluxe would've been useful, but who am I to tell you what to do, right?
I want an ironhide from this line so badly
OH GOD, THE RODIMUS STAR! :P (admittedly, that was one of the more amusing portrayals of Rodimus I'd ever seen.)
Awesome figure...!!

His alt mode reminds me a lot of jackhammer, from M.A.S.K

Why do all the reviewers skip over the comic book? Review that in detail too...it's part of the total package!
This is what happens when you take advice from Whirl.
I miss the old days when their solution to not getting the trademark to "Trailbreaker" would have been to just call him "Trailblast".
That Tootsie Roll LOL
He kinda has RTS Perceptor shoulders.

Maybe he doesn't wanna give away anything.
beacuse they dont want to spoil the comic for anyone who has not read it yet
"...chances are you're not getting a lot of benefit from these video reviews"
Peaugh wins the internet, August 21st 2013.
loool the Rodimus Star
I bet you John Barber and James Roberts have a cash pool running on who can kill more toy sellers.

What was the reason for his name change? Did they lose the name rights or what?
What's he leaning on in the thumbnail?
it based on IDW comics bro...

Better answer was "magic"
where did you get that Rodimus star?
Have you seen comic reviews? They take a while.
The Matrix is made of Robosteroids.

Do you have plans to get/review MP Smokescreen?

seriously, we're on you tube watching toy reviews...we've got plenty of time.
Great review! Your funny lol

i mean as i have the first comment, as to stop people from saying first, sorry if my wording was confusing.
Taking away the chance to say first
