Hey guys, sorry for the editing issue. Hope you like the vlog anyway 😊
How amazing!! I’m American and I want to move to Stockholm. The thing I was going to miss the most was Costco, my favorite store, but now I don’t have to! 🎉😊
Mostly all of the warehouse type stores in the US check the receipt as you exit. Even some of the regular department stores , especially those with self check out registers are asking to see the receipt as you leave. It is part of the storre's 'loss prevention' practices.
Yes, the checking the receipt thing is normal at big box stores like Costco, Walmart, BJs, etc. But not in a normal grocery store like Aldi or Publix where I live in Florida.
Sadly yes. That receipt checks are normal and it is humiliating because they can’t trust that you don’t shoplift. I can’t wait to move to Sweden.
They also checked in Costco Japan. It's a Costco thing.
The receipt check is a loss prevention strategy that they do at all of their club warehouses around the world. This to make sure that the cashier did not miss scanning any of the items and make sure that no item is scanned as a duplicate.
Yes, costco check receipts in America, all ways have....sometimes the cash register person missed something...if cash register missed a certain amount in a week, they are punished
Thank you for watching!
I live in the US and shop at Costco often. It's the only store I know of where they check off the receipts. They count the number of items. That's all. Doesn't bother me.
I understand, thank you for sharing your response. In Sweden, no stores check the receipts at the exit, so this was a very unexpected thing for me.
Can you tell me how many (approximately) kilometres….or time it takes to get to Costco from Arlanda airport?
Receipts check is a Costco and wholesalers thing like BJ's Sam's club etc. US has very strong "honor system" otherwise, i shop there all the time for last 25 years and Costco employees who check the Receipts never made it awkward or humiliating, to me this is not a "problem" 😊
I see. In Sweden, it’s not a normal thing to check receipts at the exit (unless you suspect someone), but I understand it’s an American store and they have their own rules 😊
Thank`s for showing this Leila!
I will never go there and be humiliated!
They have a lot to choose from and you can really find something there. I just wasn't mentally prepared for the receipt checks (still think it's weird). Now I see that it's a common practice in the US stores
The receipt checking is in their membership agreement. Its nothing to worry about it. Its not a trust thing between you and Costco. They just want to make sure you dont walk out with that 85 inch TV under that bag of potato chips.
Haha, got it! 😂
and now shoplifters feel humiliated in sweden?...... oh poor thing. And if you dont do anything wrong, your in the clear, Right !
They justy want people to buy a lot...
Tupically american...they want to avoid shoplifters..
