@@Wildcard_Ninja To be honest, it'd be pretty interesting to see Morooka being a fully-fledged Phantom Thief. What started as a way to get back at Kamosida for the way he treated his students to him getting caught up in the same mess the Phantom Thieves find themselves in.
Atlus: "Please keep the identity of the killer, or any clues you find, to yourself." Also Atlus: *spoils the killer's identity in Arena and Cross Tag Battle* Makes sense that they removed the disclaimer.
I keep thinking about that one writer's note about Yosuke while watching this video, he "repeats what the protagonist already knows on purpose". That suddenly makes more sense.
He sort of serves as the "voice" of the MC, due to them being silent. When Yu became voiced in spinoffs he lost this trait, and as a result his intelligence in story moments took a big hit.
@@BigKlingy i like yosuke in the spin offs. His route is great in arena for example. Also his relationship with yu in the anime is great (and also completely totally 100% not gay. Definitly)
It's really weird hearing Chie's original voice actor after watching the entirety of your playthrough. Teddie sounds about the same, his original voice just sounds a bit more nasally then Sam's take on him.
Nasaily and low key like Razor from Genshin impact for Teddie Good stuff, even if I personally prefer Sam as the bear. (Erin fitzgerald as Chie is 100x better then her original p4 VA)
@@mitchellepstein9956 I disagree, tbh. Her new VA fits the role of Chie perfectly and I think she isn't annoying at all. If anything, I think she's just amazing as Chie.
@@mitchellepstein9956 The only problem of her new voice is that she uses a tone too high pitched, but her acting is 100x better than her monotone old voice and she fit her more.
I never used Teddie once. Like, what point do I have using Teddie? For magic I had Yukiko and a Persona for Yu that does that, for physical I have Chie and a persona for Yu, for buffing I have Yosuke. And for Shadow Wiping I have Naoto. There is literally no reason to use Teddie or Kanji once."
I get Teddie is for multi-elemental magic but.. then you'd be missing out on Yosuke's buffing and Naoto's instas or Chie's powerful physicals or Yukiko's strong as fuck healing. Hell, Yukiko is basically a neccessity to have and she's a great fire user. and Yosuke has good defenses so he's a nice backup healer, for elemental magic you already have Wind and Fire covered, just use Yu and Chie/Naoto for physical damage and wiping you literally have 0 reason to use Teddie or Kanji, they start off weak as hell when you get them to the point you're best off sticking with your other team members, meanwhile Naoto when you get her, she's pretty close to the team
The voiced culprit lines during the foggy nights should've been in NG+ and yes, Naoto mentions she's 5th gen. Shirogane detective during her Social Link
I saw the thumbnail, thought "no way that was actually considered", then got to 5:36. Oh my god, they had to have known what they were doing there, I assume if it was kept, poor Yosuke wouldn't be able to let that one die on the internet. He already said the protagonist is good with his hands... Well, stuff like this is always interesting, no matter how cursed it is.
@@Fermin-hw5pd more that you shouldnt rely on your Party members at all like in p4,i mean they can still be helpful but nowhere near as good as direct commands
I think SEES might actually be the strongest Persona using team since their oldest members are already pretty experienced and Aigis seems to be a pretty skilled and tough Anti-shadow Weapon already, both from her programing and build and past experience 10 years prior.
You know, until hearing those voiced versions of the "meanwhile in the fog" scenes and hearing the footsteps, I NEVER realized that you could see a silhouette hanging in the fog. I always assumed the camera was from the killer's point of view, I never realized you could see him standing there.
So I never heard voices from the original P4 obviously... I am really surprised how different Chie sounds... I'm more use to and actually prefer her voice from Golden. Not just that I'm use to it, but I feel it fits her more. (Ironic, considering that at the beginning of your playthrough, Chie's voice wasn't really clicking for me).
I still think Erin Fitzgerald's Chie starts a bit rough and gets better as the game goes on. Now that she's Chie in every spinoff, she's a lot more recognizable and most people tend to think it fits Chie's character more. They don't deny Tracey Rooney's performance is good, it's just not really that fitting for Chie.
@@BigKlingy Yeah, it's a bit like Rouge the Bat's previous voices where while I do like the voices if they were from a different character, but they don't fit Rouge very well, especially the second voice. Her current voice, Karen Strassman, is undeniably the best Rouge voice and a way better fit for the type of character she's supposed to be.
14:51:Okay I wouldn’t be surprised if someone hearing this out of context took forbidden technique as something else entirely 16:50:Honestly I think voice acting in this could’ve potential worked if they used something like the voice filter they point on ameno-sagiri because that didn’t really sound like the killer much at all
To me it even sounded more like the protagonist, though that could just be because Johnny Yong Bosch didn’t differentiate much between the two since Yu is a silent protagonist.
Aside from "rarw my ass". It's still pretty interesting how much they seemed to have leaned into Yosuke being the quasi-viewpoint character (as the MC is silent) before dialling that back a bit.
"Does this mean SEES were fighting shadows on hard mode the whole time!?" Even more proof they're the stronger group, I guess. 14:46 this should've been kept in lol. Interesting stuff overall though, I gotta say.
The first one makes sense since 1: S.E.E.S. was around and were fighting shadows, even before the game's events took place, unlike in P4 and P5 later on where those teams formed after discovering the shadows and their Personas after the game begins, as the flashback scenes in The Answer makes it a lot more clear. Their oldest members were already pretty experienced shadow fighters and Aigis seems to be a pretty powerful and experienced Anti-Shadow Weapon. And 2: which is the difficulty of the shadows in P3 compared to P4, specifically, the boss shadows, and not really because of the gameplay in FES, even with Portable's added opinion to take full control of the party members and choose what you want them to do directly, the shadows are still pretty tough to take on.
13:08 I don't know about that. Without a way to compare them that seems unlikely. 16:14 Barring one plot hole line. I think that also happened in anime. 17:01 I didn't think it was him who spoke those lines. Yeah, this would spoil too much. 18:18 Weird they removed half of that line in the final game. 19:33 These ones should have been kept. Nothing about Mystery Food X is redundant. 20:11 Wait. Why is he the one saying this? I get Namatame, but not him. 20:49 Shame for this one. 23:03 Poor Yosuke.
Something I wonder is how Erin Fitzgerald and Sam Riegal were directed at first since the two have way different approaches to how much they keep consistent with the original voice, since I can clearly hear that Sam Riegal is trying to imitate the same kind of voice that Dave Wittenberg did. While Erin Fitzgerald sounds quite different from Tracey Rooney yet they both started with the Animation at the same time so they would have dealt with the same directors, producers... If they did have the Fog scenes voiced then they would have had to have gone a lot further to hide it since they not even add any effects to Adachi’s voice to try and disguise the fact that it is Adachi, and although I find that vocal processing does not always work especially if the editing is rather light. For example Tara Platt with just her voice artificially deepened still sounds like Tara Platt to me and hence does not hide the fact that it is her voice to me. Having Johnny Yong Bosch try a way different voice than the one he uses from Adachi could also help. And talking about disgusting voices something I have found is that I have a fairly good success rate at guessing voice actors for characters from voice actors I recognise or being able to identify them even when using voices they really use, for example, in the dub of Digimon Tamers Steve Blum plays 3 major to semi major characters who each sound very different from each other yet I can recognise his voice in all of them even though one of them uses his trade mark voice or in my first Trails game where I was able to identify that Erika Harlacher was Juna, this even tends to persist when under vocal processing like what happened with the aforementioned Tara Platt in a certain game. This does not really extend too for example a new character played by somebody I do not recognise if there disguise is just vocal processing, I remember being hoodwinked by the reveal of a kidnapping culprit in a Tv Show I watched once because even though their Sweets based monster form had an obviously processed voice, one that suggests that they are trying to hide that the culprit is female again looking back I was not familiar with who played her so there were no red flags for me. Appropriately I have been playing Persona 5 Strikers and I have to say interestingly the game to me feels more like an Acton RPG version of Persona 5 that takes its other parent series tendency for fights against lots of enemies at once rather than a Warriors game with for example Fire Emblem or Legend of Zelda inspired mechanics integrated. The Fate Extella games I feel are closer to a Warriors game than this is and those where made by Marvelous not Koei Tecmo. This is way different than most Warriors crossover games since they tend to swing a lot more towards the Warriors side.
I kinda wish Atlus would have let us go into the TV world at night, maybe giving an exp and money bonus in exchange for having to fight stronger enemies. But I guess it makes sense given that you can't go out unless Dojima isn't home
So this is what you meant by much of this being inconsequential. Most of the unused stuff is repeated or unneeded information. I think it’s pretty funny that Yosuke had this the most. He was unlucky enough to be the character in this position in the plot where he’s there for all of the initial exposition. If roles were switched with someone, it’d probably be the same way since it’s all clarification and repeating. Still, it’s pretty damn fitting. About that nighttime line, I wouldn’t be surprised if nighttime making the shadows stronger mention was meant to be the justification to why you can never go into the dungeon at night at some point. Of course, the character’s having to be home and sneaking out not always being an option already does this so a special reason like this wasn’t needed. But this also means P4 is officially done. It’s a shame, but at least there was that gem of a line to make it more worthy of a sendoff. So long Inaba, I say for probably the fifth time now.
You can never go to the TV World at night anyway, so I guess they felt those lines weren't needed. I might upload Mr Edogawa's TV Classroom, though those won't have commentary. Making these videos reminded me of how much fun I had with these videos. I'll miss this series.
*sees thumbnail* This is going to be good. 1:20 Why wasn't this in the final game? This is so cool, and it could help prevent people from spoiling the game. 3:19 Hi, Tracey Rooney as Chie! Personally, I'm a bigger fan of Erin Fitzgerald's performance as Chie, but that's probably because I'm more used to it. 4:59 And that is why you should always double check lines to see if they're important or not, because if you get rid of an important line, boom, you've created a plot hole. 5:36 WHY WAS THIS LINE NOT USED!?!?!? 11:39 Why did these lines have to be cut? They're amazing (though, I might be biased, because Yosuke). 13:08 Possibly? It's hard to tell since Tartarus and the TV world work very differently. 14:16 Yeah, it's not super obvious, but that definitely sounds like Johnny Yong Bosch. I'm glad that line was cut, because otherwise, it would have been REALLY easy to figure out who the killer is. 15:17 I get the feeling that hashtag is supposed to be sarcastic. 15:33 *sigh* Such is the life of Yosuke Hanamura. 16:49 Okay, even with the distortion, that is VERY obviously Johnny Yong Bosch. If the player didn't figure out who the killer was from the first line (which is understandable), they'll definitely figure it out now. 20:09 At this point, if the player hasn't figured out that Adachi's the killer, they are either deaf, and thus, can not hear the dialogue, or they don't remember what Adachi's voice sounds like, which is very unlikely. 21:16 *gags*
5:36 Surely they could've fit ONE more short line here... 11:39 They're good Yosuke development, but they probably wanted to get to the castle quickly, as this is the last major scene before we get actual gameplay after, what, 3 hours or so. They moved a lot of what he says here to his Social Link. 15:17 I was saying that Yosuke's "We're way more immature than [Nanako] is" is the most true statement I've heard in a long time. 16:49 Hence why these lines probably weren't ever supposed to play.
@@BigKlingy 5:36 Well, apparently not, for some reason. 11:39 I understand that, but... did they REALLY have to cut those lines? 15:17 Oh! I'm an idiot! I misheard that as "We're way more mature than she is." Yeah, that hashtag is amazingly accurate.
Don't have anything to add, other than that I saw an interesting video in my recommendations earlier related to Persona. Specifically one where a streamer who is also a professional dancer ranked all of the characters in the Persona Dancing games (likely at least the P4 one, haven't actually watched the video yet to confirm). Just thought it was something fun to share.
That sounds interesting. They probably used actual dancers and mo-cap for the Dancing games, though I know nothing about dancing so all the moves go over my head.
I kinda like most of the early Yosuke cuts; I feel like keeping them in would have made Yosuke seem too mature and undercut his development across the rest of the game. Some of the cuts that got replaced by a protagonist dialogue choice also seem like good calls; a couple of them feel dangerously close to Makoto Syndrome, making Yosuke seem more like the actual protagonist of the game instead of Yu. (For what it's worth, I think it actually works in P5, but that may be my desire for another female protagonist and/or my bias towards Priestess characters talking -- and at the very least the final Vanilla palaces and especially the third semester in Royal do a lot to re-cement Joker as the protagonist.) EDIT: Oh and for what it's worth? Morooka was still guilty of sexual harassment; just because he wasn't interested in pulling a Kamoshida, he was still behaving SUPER inappropriately (especially considering his position of authority), so it still falls under that general umbrella.
I was just telling a friend that I was sad a lot of these lines didn't make it in but that's a good point about them undercutting his growth through the game!
Some of the hardest I can remember are the soul dancers (in the third area), the change relic (arqa), jotun of grief, and obviously the intrepid knight. I didn't have much trouble with the intrepid knight though, probably because I played Portable xd. And I barely remember any late game boss
@@BigKlingy This also kinda makes sense: some SEES members have been fighting for a while before the game begins, and the starter party of Makoto, Yukari and Junpei even gets to train for a few days before their first "real fight" against the monorail shadow. The initial Investigation Team is meanwhile thrown into battle right after their awakenings, Yu and Yosuke are forced to fight a Shadow boss with basically no preparation or training during their first real trip to the TV world, and another one (with Chie) shortly after.
wouldnt it make more sense that its izanami saying "again" because she clearly had the plans for adachi to throw people into the tv, atleats thats what i thought
It would've been interesting to see a fog or night shadow world part maybe if you went on those days the shadows would be harder to fight but more exp idk just a thought
It actually makes sense that SEES was in hard mode the whole time, and also that they tend to be the strongest shadow fighters since unlike the teams in 4 and 5 where they formed after discovering the shadows and their power of Persona, SEES was actually around before Persona 3 took place since the oldest members seem to be already pretty experience shadow fighters and Aigis seems to be a pretty powerful Anti-Shadow Weapon. And 2, which is the different shadows are actually being challenging to take on, mainly, the boss shadows. Not really because of FES's gameplay, even with Portable's improved dungeons crawling gameplay, the shadows are still very tough.
@@mitchellepstein9956 My favourite Erin Fitzgerald Chie performance is in the bad ending parts of the Namatame scenes in you screw up. She genuinely sounds like she's on the verge of a breakdown. I admit that her early lines don't sound that great. She gets better the further into the game you go. I just think her voice fits Chie better.
Honestly my thoughts are that the original voice actor did a fine job, it is just she doesn't match Chie and her personality at all. Fitzgerald's voice meanwhile fits much better.
@@mitchellepstein9956 Her orignal voice doesn't fit the type of character that Chie is supposed to be. Chie is meant to be a kung fu and meat loving tomboy teen girl, and her orignal voice doesn't sound like it belongs to that type of character like her new voice does.
I'm like 100% that intro message was in the steam port maybe somehow? I definitely read that exact message before. Maybe in tweet by Atlus when the game came out as a reference? I don't know....
Specifically someone brainwashing a ton of people into being simps. Which, sadly, is pretty accurate to how Japan's idol industry works. I went through the Alice arc and was like "yep, Persona did a 'doesn't idol culture suck?' plot AGAIN." A lot of Strikers' dungeons can be applied to fandoms in general, like the second one having an author's crazy fans assaulting people who don't like his book. (Meanwhile, I'm really looking forward to one of the later Jails, which seems to be a huge jab at fans who took the Phantom Thieves completely the wrong way.)
@@BigKlingy I'm looking forward to your thoughts on the third one mainly because it addresses one of the main criticisms of 5 and Royal. Also it has one of the funniest moments of the game.
@@frankseward7017 One thing I like so far is every dungeon gives spotlight to a party member who was neglected (or lost relevance after their arc) in the original game. Jail 1 focuses on Ann. Jail 2 on Yusuke. And apparently Jail 3 is Haru. I've also noticed Makoto isn't getting much focus so far. I'm okay with this, as she already got basically two arcs to herself in P5. It's a bizarre INVERSION of how P5's cast were treated in spinoffs. Instead of Flanderization, they actually get DEEPER.
@@BigKlingy Good to know. Also yeah literally my first thought on Alice was "Oh God... why does she look so freaking gaudy?!" And my second was "Yeah Atlus hating on Idol Industry again except the time they didn't".

1:40- That's a fair point for cutting out, though I still like a game trying to encourage the message of not being an $sshole by spoiling others. 3:45- And I though Teddie sounded completely different with his original voice, but wow Chie sounds even more different from what we see in P4G. Certainly prefer the new voice in P4G. 4:55- Yeah that's an unfortunate case of trying to remove one issue and creating an entirely new one. 5:36- Wished that line stayed here. 8:55- I kind of wonder what it would have been like if you could get into the T.V World on a foggy day. Imagine if the enemies became super high leveled or something like that. 15:32- Oh wow you're right. Might be a bit too late, but I guess that's another tally for the "Yosuke's Life Sucks" Counter. Xp 15:55- I was honestly expecting a lot worse with how much it was hyped about how much got cut from the prologue, but if it still gave you 15 minutes worth of material to talk about, yeah that's still pretty bad of how long it might have been originally. 17:05- Yeah I figured that was why the voice acting was cut for those "meanwhile" lines. 19:30- Kind of sad that line was kind of cut, but oh well. 23:20- Yeah, usually with cut content it's mostly a sad tale of cool ideas unable to get into the main game, but with all of these cut lines they were mostly positive removals that helped made the game better. But yeah that's it for P4G. Overall, it was a pretty great game, one that I hope that I get to play once I have a computer Steam doesn't hate. In general, I'm really enjoying my dive into the Megaten Series as I've enjoyed BigKlingy's playthrough of P4G and want to play it for myself, and I've had fun with SMT4 too (mostly). Honestly can't wait until I dive deeper into the series, so I must thank you Klingy for giving me the reason to jump into it. In other news, I finally beat and 100% Bug Fables yesterday and today respectively. There's still one more optional challenge that I would like to do before I leave it alone a bit (reason being I decided to briefly put on easy mode to do it since there was no reward for doing it on hard mode and how I handicapped myself due to "reasons", so I would like to tackle that challenge force full, especially now since I've probably become the strongest that I can possible be). Overall, it was a pretty great game. Even if the team size was small, the game probably has some of the best party chemistry that I've seen in a video game (along side some of the best humor that I've seen in a video game). The story was really entertaining and really made me invested to see more of it. The world was fun to explore and was filled with plenty of secrets and charming characters. The gameplay was pretty fun as well with its battle system being pretty polished and opened up the way for a lot of strategies (and there's still a ton of strategies, items, and even a few moves that I haven't utilized to their fullest). The difficulty was balanced for the most part, even including the Hard Mode as the devs actually used that to determine the balancing, making it one of the few games that I would consider having a good hard mode. As for complaints, I do have a few. First, I do feel like berries[/money] are a bit too tight for a bit with the game, especially near the beginning where there are some sizable purchases to gain access to some important things (such as the bank) or if you really wanted to experiment with the cooking system (which you REALLY want to do given how helpful items are in this game). Some of the field skills and platforming in this game could have used some polish, especially the Beemerang given how frustrating it can be use with some puzzles. My last complaint is something I'm a tad mixed on; the Medal System. Don't get me wrong, I love how the Medal system allows for some many different and fun builds for the player to use and how you need to decide on which medals you'll want really adds a great deal of replayablity to the game. That said, I'm not really sure on how much I like how medal points are a stat that you can choose to upgrade during your rank ups since it makes it feel a bit too dominant of a stat to increase sometimes. It's an issue that I sort of have with the first two Paper Marios with the over centralization of a certain stat that lowers the values of other stats (it's sort of similar as to why I'm starting to dislike the speed stat in FE for being too overly important). However it's the fact that you can upgrade medal points so much that gives the game so much variety and replayablity. In addition, I do think Bug Fables does balance out the importance of the other two stats since there's a ton of great skills in this game, so to use them regularly you'll need a sizable amount of TP (MP) for them, and HP, while still probably the weakest stat, still has importance to upgrade since while it's only a one point upgrade at a time, enemies hit pretty hard (even taking like three or four points worth of damage adds up quickly), so you any point that you can get greatly helps out. Also, to show that I'm a more balanced judge how given many praise solely for it being like the first two Paper Marios, my experience with Paper Mario was first with Super Paper Mario (very different to the from the first two), Sticker Star (which I even dislike and found flawed even on my first playthrough without any serious knowledge of the series), and only up to Chapter 2 of the first game (only played up to there since I had other games marked as a higher priority to beat, but did struggle to find a good reason to return besides needing to beat it). While I am critical of Nintendo's handling of Paper Mario as of late(I really don't like the restrictive philosophy that damns creativity and limits ideas for the sake of brand identity protection since I see it doing more harm than good in the long run), I judged Bug Fables on its own merits and only compared it to its spiritual predecessor whenever I saw an idea/concept and went "oh, now I can see why people liked x thing from that game." Overall, Bug Fables is a pretty fantastic game and certainly recommend for anyone interested in it.
Ive been looking at some demon convos in raido 2 and -mahakala has insecurity issues and is jelous of shiva aka himself -parvati knows that she was sati -barong and rangda banter even though they fight each other -mara and mishaguji like each other. Why beats them
Some of the unique conversations between Demons in SMT games are cool mythology nods. Not a ton of games have them but it's cool to see the ones that exist.
I always felt like there was a lack of yosuke, now I know why. Teddie's old voice sounds a lot cuter than the golden one, if only you could have old teddie but keep new chie

P3 and p4 are connected? i though that each persona is a standalone universe due to other characters using different means of summoning persona's and the only thing connecting the games where the velvet room
They're all in the same universe, the characters just don't meet outside of spinoff crossovers. The events and characters of Persona 3 definitely happened in 4, they're just limited to cameos in 4's self-contained story. (You visit P3's high school during P4, P5 has posters of Rise and Kanami from P4)
@@BigKlingy yeah I know the other characters exits in the other games since there mentioned but I thought it was the case of multiple universes like the p3 univers where the actions happened and then in p4 the caraters exits But there just normal people same with p5
Are you planning on making a video like this and the unused content one but for persona 5? I know that will be a much bigger project if you were too. You could talk for hours about unused stuff in p5 since it was in development for so long
If King Moron was supposed to be some sort of weird perv then that makes that one scene of him escorting the girl home at night go from “annoying” to “oh no”
The only "pervy" thing he does in the final game is buying Rise's merchandise, and apparently that isn't supposed to be pervy, it was meant to make him look NICER, due to how the idol industry works in Japan. (Idols get tossed aside quickly if they don't sell) I don't think he was meant to come across that way, but more as one of those excessively moralizing "don't have sex ever" teachers.
I don't know whether its more sad or fitting that Yosuke has the most unused dialogue. Maybe it's both... Hey, Klingy. Been a little while. I noticed I was running out of things to say in my comments on your Final Fantasy XII LP, and the game just really didn't manage to grab my attention, so I kinda stopped watching. Honestly, not sure if I'll try to catch up on it or not. Final Fantasy has always been a franchise I've known about and had access to, but which never truly grabs my attention, and sadly XII really wasn't changing that. I watched your Thoughts On Zelda Games (that you've played), I sorta typed out this monstrous essay for it, but I ran out of time I first watched it and just saved the comment to a text file. Expect said essay to pop up sometime in the next week or never at all. On that note, have you seen the MLP G5 stuff? There's a bit of animation watchable on UA-cam and a synopsis for the movie we're getting late in the year.
I understand if you stopped watching XII. It's not for everyone, being very light on character development and inter-party interaction. It's a very important game for me personally and I've always wanted to do it on the channel, but I if you're not interested that's fine. I hadn't been following the news, and honestly I don't really care at this point. I don't think anything's going to match G4 for me, and generic CGI doesn't stand out as much as G4's flash artstyle did.
Shame there was no such editing for Persona 5. I may love P5, but that script is so bloated with padding, unnecessary exposition, and out of place scenes, even BEFORE Royal added even more.
There's some unused voice clips for P5, but they're mostly Confidant and exploration-related. Joker has clips for calling out the days of the week, among other things.
Listening to the Ps2 version makes me feel so nostalgic. I love and would prefer old Chie's voice over the new one. Playing the Og for 6-7 years and suddenly have to listen to that high pitched voice is just getting on my nerves. Still, it's just me. Great content btw, love to see something from the og that i didn't know

Definitly)
It's not really a surprise Yosuke has the most lines cut out, as he's probably the one that talks the most
He's sort of the mouthpiece for the silent protagonist, especially early on.
It's really weird hearing Chie's original voice actor after watching the entirety of your playthrough. Teddie sounds about the same, his original voice just sounds a bit more nasally then Sam's take on him.
Nasaily and low key like Razor from Genshin impact for Teddie
Good stuff, even if I personally prefer Sam as the bear. (Erin fitzgerald as Chie is 100x better then her original p4 VA)

I get Teddie is for multi-elemental magic but.. then you'd be missing out on Yosuke's buffing and Naoto's instas or Chie's powerful physicals or Yukiko's strong as fuck healing.
Hell, Yukiko is basically a neccessity to have and she's a great fire user. and Yosuke has good defenses so he's a nice backup healer, for elemental magic you already have Wind and Fire covered, just use Yu and Chie/Naoto for physical damage and wiping
you literally have 0 reason to use Teddie or Kanji, they start off weak as hell when you get them to the point you're best off sticking with your other team members, meanwhile Naoto when you get her, she's pretty close to the team

You know, until hearing those voiced versions of the "meanwhile in the fog" scenes and hearing the footsteps, I NEVER realized that you could see a silhouette hanging in the fog. I always assumed the camera was from the killer's point of view, I never realized you could see him standing there.
It's kind of faint but you can see it. The camera angles are the same as some of the shots of the district during other cutscenes.
The fact that Yukiko was originally the killer would've been a crazy plot twist
Yosuke always unlucky, as ever.
16:50:Honestly I think voice acting in this could’ve potential worked if they used something like the voice filter they point on ameno-sagiri because that didn’t really sound like the killer much at all
To me it even sounded more like the protagonist, though that could just be because Johnny Yong Bosch didn’t differentiate much between the two since Yu is a silent protagonist.

In general yeah, not much of value was lost.
Aside from "rarw my ass".
It's still pretty interesting how much they seemed to have leaned into Yosuke being the quasi-viewpoint character (as the MC is silent) before dialling that back a bit.
@@BigKlingy The "Rawr my ass" line being lost is just absolutely saddening. :(
@@BigKlingy Yeah, it definitely further made Yosuke feel low-key like the protagonist.
"Does this mean SEES were fighting shadows on hard mode the whole time!?" Even more proof they're the stronger group, I guess.
14:46 this should've been kept in lol.
Interesting stuff overall though, I gotta say.
14:46 Chie already has some great lines in that scene, like "You are hereby sentences to buying us steak."

THAT ADACHI CUT LINEEEE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 FUOCOOO
Would’ve liked the Adachi lines in NG+. Could’ve been fun.
16:48 Wow it's incredibly obvious
I wonder if these voices were supposed to be NG+ only or something? Probably just there for completeness.
to me it makes it sound like the protagonist is the killer. probably because the protagonist and adachi have the same VA
It's not that obvious to me xd
If I were playing that for the same time, I would have thought that was Yu, I'm that stupid
19:33 Plus Yuri Lowenthall's delivery on those is amazing.
20:11 He wanted someone else to die, I guess.
They could've definitely allowed us to go into the TV world at night and when the fog is in the town but have the enemies extremely powerful
@@BigKlingy I am going to miss it too.

Don't have anything to add, other than that I saw an interesting video in my recommendations earlier related to Persona. Specifically one where a streamer who is also a professional dancer ranked all of the characters in the Persona Dancing games (likely at least the P4 one, haven't actually watched the video yet to confirm).

Dude that was hella quick, I just finished the first part yesterday thinking it would be awhile before we get this!
(For what it's worth, I think it actually works in P5, but that may be my desire for another female protagonist and/or my bias towards Priestess characters talking -- and at the very least the final Vanilla palaces and especially the third semester in Royal do a lot to re-cement Joker as the protagonist.)
EDIT: Oh and for what it's worth? Morooka was still guilty of sexual harassment; just because he wasn't interested in pulling a Kamoshida, he was still behaving SUPER inappropriately (especially considering his position of authority), so it still falls under that general umbrella.
I was just telling a friend that I was sad a lot of these lines didn't make it in but that's a good point about them undercutting his growth through the game!
Morooka literally isn't but go off I guess

@@BigKlingy This also kinda makes sense: some SEES members have been fighting for a while before the game begins, and the starter party of Makoto, Yukari and Junpei even gets to train for a few days before their first "real fight" against the monorail shadow.
Xp
15:55- I was honestly expecting a lot worse with how much it was hyped about how much got cut from the prologue, but if it still gave you 15 minutes worth of material to talk about, yeah that's still pretty bad of how long it might have been originally.
Considering I like Paper Mario 1 and 2, I should think about playing Bug Fables one day.
Ive been looking at some demon convos in raido 2 and
-mahakala has insecurity issues and is jelous of shiva aka himself
-parvati knows that she was sati
-barong and rangda banter even though they fight each other
-mara and mishaguji like each other. Why beats them
Mahakala is probably insecure since Shiva is much more well known.
@@BerserkerRohan bingo. He says that shiva is well known all across the world but outside their home country, no one knows mahakala
@@B_A-tr Hinduism is my religion and I am happy to share information about it to help SMT players learn something.
Some of the unique conversations between Demons in SMT games are cool mythology nods. Not a ton of games have them but it's cool to see the ones that exist.
@@BigKlingy I heard about that too.
RAWR XD
Yosuke: 5:35
I always felt like there was a lack of yosuke, now I know why. Teddie's old voice sounds a lot cuter than the golden one, if only you could have old teddie but keep new chie
*Calling Yu "The protagonists"*
Been a long while since I got a recommendation from your channel. Glad to see you're keeping up the good work.
Wait... your thing says you've been subscribed to me for 5 years. Aren't you supposed to be getting notified on all my uploads?
Sorry if that sounds weird, I'm just wondering how it works.
@@BigKlingy aye I have, I think I got here from your FE Fate or awakening Let's play. But I never got any recommendations from your vids until today.
Geez.. they did dirty on Yosuke's character in this game. I'm glad they improved him in the Arena story. Still wish they made Labrys his first Girlfriend to completely redeem his character.
If they would have kept in some of the dialogue, she would have been the 2nd, right after Yu.
@@meatbug8611 I can see that, but 3 4 and 5 at least ARE all part of the same universe.
Thanks for the vídeo and chie old voice sound less like a character and more like a voice actor
OG Chie sounds too mature and sounds bored for a Kung Fu High School girl. I think changing her voice was for the best, imo.
Are you planning on making a video like this and the unused content one but for persona 5? I know that will be a much bigger project if you were too. You could talk for hours about unused stuff in p5 since it was in development for so long
Did my comment about Yosuke get deleted?
i wanna watch the video but i can't stop looking at the thumb
If King Moron was supposed to be some sort of weird perv then that makes that one scene of him escorting the girl home at night go from “annoying” to “oh no”
The only "pervy" thing he does in the final game is buying Rise's merchandise, and apparently that isn't supposed to be pervy, it was meant to make him look NICER, due to how the idol industry works in Japan. (Idols get tossed aside quickly if they don't sell)
I don't think he was meant to come across that way, but more as one of those excessively moralizing "don't have sex ever" teachers.
The original Chie voice feels weird. A lot smoother.
IMO it makes her sound too old.
18:48 Should've kept those.
9:56 "Yosei"??
STARDUST DRAGON!!!!
18:24 Junes
13:04 feels that way in game too
Yosuke says pog
Yep, SEES is in another level. XD
Also I think someone hates yosuke xD
Whats your opinions on the gen 4 remakes?
He has made a community post on it
Yep, already have it in a community post.
I would of like that explanation of Teddie about the shadow attacking because it makes sense and it was also in the anime.
persona gaming
Listening to the Ps2 version makes me feel so nostalgic. I love and would prefer old Chie's voice over the new one. Playing the Og for 6-7 years and suddenly have to listen to that high pitched voice is just getting on my nerves. Still, it's just me. Great content btw, love to see something from the og that i didn't know
9:11 why did they cut those they are awesome.
10:23 its called being a protag yosuke
21:12 i always got rapey vibes from that scene
9:11 I guess they just wanted to get to the Social Link. They were some nice lines but the whole point of that scene was to introduce how Social Links work.
Oh, boy, here we go!
holy shit chie's old voice actor is kinda awful
Most people feel that way now. Personally I think she did her best but she sounds way too old for Chie.
Wrong
Same. She did her best with what she had, but Erin Fitzgerald absolutely nailed Chie’s English voice.
About the subject of Yosuke being a romance option I think it was removed because gay marriage was legalized Until 2014. @BigKlingy
So those R the missing & cut Story Dialogues Lines in the Unused Content...🤔
Some or Most can be SPOILERS, missing good lines, other lines which doesn't put some improvements for the tones, or the lines that can be redundant, etc. 🤨 I see... I get it now. 🙂
To be honest the story of perosna 4 is really predictable to the point that it makes the characters look dumb
As much as i hate Yosuke i feel all these lines would have made him more bearable
I know everyone gives Chie’s original English voice a lot of flack, but I hope Tracey Rooney comes back for a future Persona game (P6 maybe?).
I feel like the way that stuff is explained in persona 4 is really bad
hello felllow love live fan.
I mean, I get that but, it was going to be worse. at least in persona 4 how it is, you do have to figure stuff out yourself, unlike Persona 3 and 5 where everything is given to you on a silver platter
