For anyone wondering, Thew is correct that there was a deleted scene of Megatron in Hoover Dam. When they were first planning out the movie they planned to put Megatron in the Cybertron scene (which was going to be in the middle of the movie when that Optimus message played), and that's what this Megatron was designed for. But someone reminded them Megatron was supposed to be frozen so he was cut from that scene and the Hoover Dam scene was added. When The Last Knight deservedly flopped, Bumblebee was reworked into a reboot to get away from the stink (so it IS a separate universe no matter what Lorenzo says). The Popsicletron scene was cut, most of the Cybertron scene was moved to the beginning and Bumblebee's landing on Earth was filmed to replace the original intro, which showed him having been there since before WWII as in The Last Knight. Unfortunately it was too late to add Megatron to the Cybertron scene just for the sake of doing so.
I remember hearing about Megatron's absence being due to the fact he was frozen on Earth. As for the reboot thing, Unicron is proof that it's a reboot.
On the one hand, Bumblebee doesn't really work because of all the continuity errors it would introduce. On the other hand, so have a ton of other official things, including and especially the UK Marvel comics that were written as filler in between receiving the US comics. The people working on the movies say they're still considering it the same continuity but they don't sweat small details. _That's pretty obvious._ I prefer to consider it a soft reboot, where the events of the other movies (except TLK) happen broadly the same way but with the timeline of events shifted around.
@@qxillanote9952 not sure what you're on about. Bumblebee was set in the 80s, and Bayverse Megatron was frozen from about the First Century CE to 2007. So if Bumblebee were in the Bayverse (it isn't, but was originally supposed to be) then Megatron is definitely still frozen.

The robot mode is fantastic, and the alt modes are fine. Is it worth it? Hell yes! The few gripes I have are outweighed by how awesome the robot mode is.
It feels like Hasbro designers just needed to pick an alt-mode because trying to stuff a triple-changer design into a figure that was designed from art that didn't have an alt-mode at all, really means that neither alt-mode was good.
