holyshit I own that transformer. Lost EVERYTHING except the main robot. he was the only childhood transformer toy that survived the purge and I still have him, with all the accessories gone.
there was a "gorilla alt mode" I always play with this guy, since I never like his robot form, the gorilla alt mode is where you imagine the decal sticker plastered on the snake head as the head of the gorilla, and position the claw arms and legs as its 4 walking legs, flip up the purple back pack as its cannons. Theres also a "bulldozer Tank alt mode" where you lay him on its back, and treat the purple back as its "tank treads" Twist the body around so the crab claws go either up or down and it be like a bulldozer with claw arms The best mode is where I always split the purple back arms and fold it to the side of the body, so it looks like its sitting on a floating chair/side burners/jetpack enhancement They are all mainly "imaginative alt modes" for this guy when I play as a kid. I also prefer the robot mode without turning his body around, so that "V" on its crotch is seen like a robot's visor/head unit. and also since I lost the head master unit back then, thats how I see him transformed in robot mode...
oh no....look at how they massacre my crab boy in its updated version...wheres the purple shell backpack....... I was lowkey wanting to get it just for nostalgia.... but seeing the super disappointing crab form. nope.
Squeezeplay is one that looks dangerously derpy and he's perfect for it. Gotta love how the legs janking off the robot shoulders is so iconically dumb that the Legacy version includes panels for almost no reason than to homage it. Browning being a weapon for Squeezeplay makes sense, as in the anime Cancer was the one that formed a close bond with him.
My favorite part about the little Browning is they gave him a tiny safety orange barrel cap. It's one of those perfect little details that elicit a sensible chuckle, or at least a slight grin and amused puff of exhalation through one's nose.
I was having a mental breakdown earlier due to trauma getting dredged up, and here comes Thew with another banger to help me ground myself. Cheers Thew!

My kids were THRILLED to see a new Sqeezey. We watched the Masterforce season, and they took to Squeezeplay very quickly. Now we just need a Cab/Hosey-Head and Horribull.

I got him a week ago or so and he is lovely! In addition to hunching his crab head down, I've found that the little fake legs on the back come around just far enough to the front that you can flare them out to fill out his upper body and shoulder area
This is exactly everything I feel about Squeezeplay. Got the G1 in a comics shop when I was, like, 10, and have been waiting for this moment ever since. I adore the li'l goof. (It _really_ helps that his joints don't suck like Fangry.)
I always took Squeezeplay's alt mode as a crab/cobra monster. Especially since his buddies also seemed to be hybrid creatures too: Horri-Bull (bull/dog) and Fangry (winged werewolf). But I can also see the sci-fi horror elements in all three as well.
I only had a handful of Transformers growing up. I can remember owning Swoop, Submarauder, and Squeezeplay. It occurs to me now that all of their names start with S.
I was drawn to Lokos for some reason and was intrigued by his name. What is a Lokos? A little digging revealed that "lokos" is the plural of Latvian word "loks" (meaning to bend or fold). Good to know.
So excited for a new Thew review! I just recently found a Chevy Aveo Swerve who I’ve been hunting down for ages and he’s officially going to be the rarest bot in my collection!
The more I see of this figure the more I want this multipack for more than Cliffjumper. I feel moving forward with 86 Megatron on the horizon we're also see his gun mode reduced to nothing more than an accessory. That bit with the questionable ratchet was great. Felt very AVGN inspired, and if not I'm an idiot for seeing it.

Ah Squeezeplay...one of my all-time top five favourite transformers. Love those vibrant purples and blues and that monster mode...fantastic! They really did him dirty with that new monster mode. He went from cool dayglo xenomorph to a Jim Henson puppet from 'Labyrinth'. And poor ol Lokos STILL gets jammed into an uncomfortable chest compartment like Anne Frank being jammed into an undersized loft! Tragic!

I got G1 Squeezeplay at a garage sale as a kid, along with Fangry on clearance and I loved them. Some of my favorite G1 transformers, especially with how Fangry was portrayed in the G1 Marvel comics. Pretty sure Squeezeplay and Fangry were supposed to be chimeric monsters, rather then one specific animal.
Given one of my favorite bots from my childhood was Armada Hot Shot, who's constantly picked on as a clunky, stupid toy, and I got excited for a pretty shonky update in Legacy, I TOTALLY get where Thew's coming from
Mostly got the set for prime Cliff and cyberverse Tarn, of course my odd love for SGMF allowed a nice soft spot in my heart for Squeeze Play/Cancer, especially when it was mentioned that Browning was playing a non-major roll.
I owned him originally. The legs never moved, you are correct. I still have fondness for him though watching your review, definitely nostalgia has tainted my memories to his figure being way better than it actually was.
G1 Squeezeplay is one of my holy grail figures, so I was super hyped about the Legacy figure, but I'm still deciding if I like its monster mode enough to get it since that's his whole appeal
I found out a out G1 Squeezeplay through the wiki (as ya do) and found the whole "alien cobrastacean" thing so endearingly stupid that I've been a fan ever since. When they made Titan Master Crashbash I knew I needed to get it just for that reason. Now that I have Legacy Squeezeplay (because I am a mark and paid for the four pack), I use Crashbash as the head even though it's a little less accurate. The lavendar and bright blue certainly help, I love that color scheme. Speaking of Crashbash, wouldn't his Titan Master shell have been better using a new head retool of Repugnus instead of a dinosaur/dragon?
Man, I hope they do another run of Fangry so I can actually get one. You know, rerun most of Titans Return, as it is right know you gotta choose which set you have complete, the TR Decepticon Targetmasters or both of your kidneys.

It actually does make sense for Browning to come with Squeezeplay due to how in in Master Force he and Squeezeplay's counterpart Cancer were buddies.
