The creating users worked great for my family. When my kids start a game on the Apple TV they can continue it on their iPad since they are saving the game with their Game Center ID.
I love the idea of using my OG HomePods for all my sound needs, but unless I’m missing it, there’s no way to get them very loud. They’re always much quieter for videos than for music. Is there a way to fix this? Great channel, I always enjoy it!

That’s great you are getting an Apple TV. I hope you enjoy it. The cameras I use are the Eufy 2k indoor cams. I have one pan/tilting camera and one regular. I also have the Aqara g4 that pans and tilts. Also the Aqara G3H. All are good cameras. I would go with either Aqara or Eufy.
Nice video Craig, I have an iphone, apple watch, mac mini and ipad pro. Right now I am using fire tv with 2 pair of echo dots for my tv. Do you think it is better to upgrade and switch to apple tv?
I use the default TV settings. I don't like the vivid settings. I then use Apple TV color calibration to get the color dialed in. It doesn't change it much because the TV looks so good out of the box.
A lot of these tips are really great. But some functionality I would like is some things that to me seem basic. Something like use my phone (which has my headphones connected) to indicate I would like listen in on the Apple TV, linking my headphones to the tv. Sometimes killing the tv sound. Sometimes not. Or have reverse screen mirroring. Making my phone a little copy of my tv that I can carry with me while I check on dinner. And not have to pause the show while everyone is watching. I miss 5 minutes of shows so many times

The device's that I am using are the following: LG C9 OLED, Sonos arc, and the Apple 4k tv. I am using a zeskit 2.1 hdmi cable. The sound issues do not happen when I use the native apps through the LG C9. I am trying to figure out what could be the cause.
Apple's Up Next is by far and away a huge deal which nobody else comes close to. With this feature you can ditch PVRs and run purely on catchup services... no need to record things. Ive tried a fire stick but the up next is just too valuable and ties together the whole streaming experience. Im shocked that only Apple have thought of this.... or that Samsung haven't copied it yet.... typically they would call it S'up next 🙂 BUT... Netflix..... what's wrong with you??? Come on... you are the only one that wont integrate... and it would be SO much better.... maybe if they played nice they wouldn't lose subscribers eh....

My Apple TV 4K 2nd Gen, when in Dolby Vision mode there is horrible color banding no matter what I’m watching. When watching movies and videos with the Sony native apps everything looks fantastic in 4K. Only looks bad when using 🍎TV, why and is there a fix?

Please show us how to hookup homepod minis and appletv for sound output for the tv with blueray player so we can watch tv channels and have the sound out of the homepid minis. (We watch tv via the blue ray player so it would be great to have the sound output go to the iPod mini speakers rather than the piss poor tv speakers.
I have not tried to pair non HomePod speakers to an Apple TV. If you are able to use the ikea Sonos paired with an Apple TV, I would think ARC would work. As I understand it, it is the Apple TV doing the work and just passing the audio signal to the paired speakers (HomePods).
My apologies for the delayed response. You need to go into the settings, select AirPlay and HomeKit and then assign the Apple TV to a room. It will then show the home icon and other HomeKit devices. Its not part of your smart home yet.
Please tell me IF the latest Apple TV 4K is now fully HDMI 2.1 Functional - was just about to purchase one but read today that they are not using it's 2.1 abilities YET? tks
I am sorry, I wish I could help. I don’t have a way of knowing and testing. People don’t know what Apple’s high frame rate is even. It should be 120hz but it could be 90hz. Maybe we will find out of there has been an update during the upcoming fall events.

I can’t tell you what it is going to offer you. You are buying an Apple product, that is the biggest difference. You go spec for spec and there is no reason to upgrade.
TV shortcuts is the best for football games and commercials - epecially when using UA-cam TV app which sucks to use with the remote. Sure, I can use the Siri remote and say, "Fast Forward 3 minutes" and it jumps. I have presets for Skip 25 sec, Skip 10, Skip 2 min, Skip 3 min, Skip 4 min, Back 7 seconds (old TiVo user here) and Back 1 min. I just wish i could make these buttons avail on the Home screen or as a widget.
Very cool. That is nice you have it dialed in. I have 3 shortcuts that turn on each of my 3 TVs and switches to my account. I put those 3 shortcuts in their own folder in shortcuts. Then I put a shortcuts widget on my screen that accesses that folder. I use a widget with 4 shortcuts. But there is one for 8 I believe.
If you have the latest Apple TV 4K paired up with HomePod you can turn on Audio Return Channel (Arc) support. You would plug the Apple TV into the Arc HDMI on your TV. Then the Samsung TV sound or anything plugged into the other HDMIs would send sound to the HomePods. Here is a video on pairing HomePods and playing sound from other sources out of them. ua-cam.com/video/0DJoq9w6roQ/v-deo.html If you are using the TV speakers for both the Apple TV and Samsung TV sound, you would just switch back to the Samsung channels. Viewing/managing outside subscriptions seems to make a lot of sense, but you didn't explain how to transfer existing subscriptions over to be managed on Apple TV. How do you do this?

We still don’t have Siri support on the Apple TV with the new Siri remote in South Africa. Therefore, some functionality is lost. Paid too much for this device to not have all the features. How I have Siri on my iPhone but not Apple TV in the same country still baffles me!! It’s greyed out in the menu cause “it’s not available in South Africa”. When are we getting Siri?
That is how it came through Apple TV when I subscribed to Paramount+. There is the option for stand alone Showtime and the option for Paramount + that came with it.
My HomePods are the only things showing up on my Apple TV 4K for some reason I’m unable to pull up my HomeKit outlets that work with my phone and computer but it doesn’t show on my Apple TV.
Just to confirm the Apple TV is signed in under the same iCloud account as your HomePods. If they are all under the same accounts and signed in on the Apple TV, there are minimal HomeKit settings. You can go under HomeKit settings and confirm that My Home is connected under home hub. I can't think of a lot of options.

I have Prime, Netflix, DirectTV Stream, and I’m not paying for another service. “Unfortunately” many of the cool and useful features only apply if you subscribe to Apple’s service.
I got it for free and it is a piece of crap, it will not accept my payment details, despite these same payment details work with Amazon Prime, Netflix, Paypal, Amazon Shopping. Utterly useless.

@@CraigsTechTalk you use to be able too it showed the little icloud icon and it let you save it to the hard drive but it doesn't show up anymore. Right from the apple store even shows on the apple web site you can but I dont see the icon anymore.

No you would not. You would download the apps and log in with your existing accounts.

I’m still curious if you can use other airplay enabled speakers with the Apple TV’s arc feature like the ikea sonos symfonisk line

You can go under HomeKit settings and confirm that My Home is connected under home hub. I can't think of a lot of options.

I would think your best bet would be to try the remote app on your phone. It is meant to control your Apple TVs.

I think they don’t do it because they separate them by Apple ID. Thats an interesting point I hadn’t thought about.

You can through a Homebridge plug-in but not natively

Do a review for people who do not want an AppleTV+ subscription. I have Prime, Netflix, DirectTV Stream, and I’m not paying for another service. “Unfortunately” many of the cool and useful features only apply if you subscribe to Apple’s service.
Fair point, but I will say, there is at least a lot of value with Apple’s subscriptions as long as you’re within their ecosystem
I got it for free and it is a piece of crap, it will not accept my payment details, despite these same payment details work with Amazon Prime, Netflix, Paypal, Amazon Shopping. Utterly useless.
I just got Apple TV impressive I’m used fire tv for long but a friend visit show me all on Apple TV how faster is loading the app like so a get one now is the only device a used for screaming only I wish one thing love when a used Apple device like phone get my text and call on any device you used like iPad and Mac book I wish I can get my text and call on the Apple TV screen can be very nice they do that a course the available to disable thank for the videos

I don't think you can. I think it is about app storage and downloading the movie when watching.
@@CraigsTechTalk you use to be able too it showed the little icloud icon and it let you save it to the hard drive but it doesn't show up anymore. Right from the apple store even shows on the apple web site you can but I dont see the icon anymore.
