Ringling Brothers was once the largest, greatest show on Earth. When I was a little girl, back in the 70's, my parents took my sister and I to the circus every year. That was a big deal back then. It breaks my heart that they are no longer. 🥺

That cable car was really cool! It's hallway looked straight out of a murder mystery 💀🎃 Also those grounds were absolutely gorgeous 🌴🌺 So glad I was able to catch up with the vlog 🧡
LOVE The Ringling! The grounds, architecture and art collection is amazing! Sorry it’s not your thing, but a good majority of their pieces are exquisite & have rich history behind them. They also have a modern art section, an Asian art section as well as they feature different artist’s collections from time to time, those have always been really enjoyable (and super cool!), as they are all modern and quite unique!
Within the museum there’s this little courtyard that has a skylight opening, that is really nice for meditating, and they often do a meditation or yoga session there during sunset, and the room illuminates with different types of lighting, it’s really neat. Their house is amazing to tour, I did so at Christmas. It is gorgeous, I just adore the place! ❤

This place looks amazing! And that mansion with that view of the water looks so cool. I remember when Jay went here & I enjoyed that video. The lights dimming in that model train room was a bit creepy and I couldn't go there alone it would freak me out. I was freaked out going to a local museum alone, so I understand. I have a legitimate fear of clowns so I'm glad this wasn't all clowns throughout the whole video.
I need to travel north and visit that museum. So much history with that circus. Thanks for sharing.

The Ringling is one of my favorite places! Even though I’ve been many times, it’s always fun to bring people that haven’t been! And the cannon truck (sitting next to the train car) is my personal favorite!
Edit: years ago you could go upstairs! Not anymore. I remember those times.

Very nice
This place is one of out favorites to visit. We have gone when they were renovating it and it was completely empty, and when Great Expectations was being filmed. Another time , a peacock themed wedding was being set up, very beautiful. Highly recommend the cirque shows that are performed in the historic theater as well. Definitely worth seeing! Thanks for sharing!

I go to museums by myself and when you're alone with all that history.... it becomes a haunt 👻 I felt scared for you when the lights dimmed 💀

My family used to vacation in Longboat Key when I was a child so I’ve been to The Ringling a few times. Even climbed one of the banyans! BTW when in Sarasota, you have to eat at Yoder’s or Der Dutchman.

I'm SOOOOOOOOO glad you went. I was wondering how the Ringling Museum fared from the storm. I would have loved to been inside Ca' d' Zan to experience that. I really hope when you and TJ make another trip, you explore the mansion, it's absolutely breathtaking! The other museum is in Baraboo, Wisconsin which is where the home of the Ringling brothers made their home till they found Sarasota.
I have fond memories of going to the Ringling museum many times on school field trips :) So many statues! The grounds is really a lot of it. I love the trees.
I went to the circus a couple times as a kid but it wasn't really my thing. I totally feel you on being uncomfortable with the animal treatment.
Very cool visit Cris! I agree some of those statues are creepy. One time we were there one of the staff showed us a statue that was near one of the large bayan trees and had grown around it so it looked like it was trapped inside the roots! 😳

It was really cool seeing this place that train set was massive I never knew they had circuses that big. I agree with you about the animals I'm glad they don't do that anymore when I was a kid I only saw them on TV but it bothered me how they cracked a whip at the Tigers and poked the elephants with a stick with a hook. It's good the hurricane didn't damage that beautiful house next to the water it sucks the jungle Gardens sign blew over did you see the cute picture on the internet that went viral of the flamingos in the bathroom during the hurricane? You always end up at the coolest of places! The gardens with all the statues kinda remind me of those gardens you went to in NJ. The house looks so beautiful! I might’ve missed it, but do they do tours of the house? The museum also seemed really neat. I know circuses are a big part of Florida history, so it makes sense that you’d find a place like that there lol.

I really like those banyans -- it's like getting a whole forest with just one tree! The circus diorama is really fantastic. If you're a fan of circus-related stuff I'd recommend the Showmen's Museum, which isn't too far from you in Riverview.
