- Today, we are going to go to London together alone to speak on a panel on behalf of my small business Katnipp, for Social media adweek
🌸 It's been a rough start to the week as my husband and business partner was hospitalised, but after much encouragement, and lots of coffee we head off to a speaking panel even on behalf of Shopify
🇬🇧 We also need to run and do some work on the road for our small business so we cafe hop and work across london before we attend the event!
🌿 Lets navigate the tubes together and I have a little heart to heart about how stuff like this does make me a little nervous and scared, but bravery is feeling the fear and doing it anyway amirite?!

Hello Catherine. I never comment. But, I have watched (almost) all your videos from the very beginning. You have come a long way since then, and its been a real pleasure to watch you achieve and grow. You have come so far! You are amazing, the first illustrator I took an interest in, and my all-time favourite too. I try to miss nothing here. Thanks for all the pleasure you bring to life for so many people. I am so flipping proud of you!! I’m glad you did this as well and I felt so much of this. I too am from a very small town and it wasn’t until recently I’ve been getting out of my comfort zone. It’s not as scary or bad as we were taught, and luckily you don’t need to live in a city to make it. There’s more opportunities with galleries and such, but they’re so cut throat and gate keepy, it’s way better to do your own thing. Plus, the cost of living is outrageous, no way I’d want to be dealing with that in a city.
The internet can have its flaws, but it provides opportunities for people like us who wouldn’t otherwise have them! I also really like these more casual talks. I of course love you packaging things, but like I said as someone from a small town who just started her own channel, it’s inspiring to hear where you came from. Maybe that can be your first children’s book? The story of katnipp and like your journey with weight loss and owning your own business and stuff.
You’re beautiful with or without makeup, you’re incredibly talented and I love that you got out of your comfort zone and proved to yourself you can do anything ❤
I remember you doing everything! Then your sister came in to help pack up orders when you had too many.

Oh HAI! :D I know the pain of DMs - try cushioned boot socks. It may sound counterintuitive, but a snug fit prevents that awful rubbing at your heel. Opt for a wool blend if you can - no cotton and certainly no thin synthetics. I hope they work out for you! Thanks for chronicling your business life. I live for these videos! :D

You're SO brave, Catherine - I'd have been super nervous on that panel! I'm glad Dean's doing better now. Ulcers are just horrible - cabbage juice is great for stomach care once he's off the antacids (but it tastes disgusting!) 💛

I'm from a small town in the states and I totally understand! Our "big city" is like a 3.5 hour car drive so going there is a big deal! It can be super scary to go alone but you did it! 🎉

It is true, sometimes our fears are way bigger than reality. You were brave and you did great! It is good to hear the Dean is doing better. Love the coffee shops. What a lovely journey to London! I really liked all of the beautiful shops and flower seller stands that are there! I really wish such places were more accessible and just... in existence here in the states. At least where I am, I feel there's very little of these sort of shops and it's such a bummer! :( But what a great adventure you went on! And to get out of your comfort zone and really get into the nitty-gritty! No imposter syndrome for you! You did wonderfully! And once again another super inspiring video. I love when I see so much to be done in your studio vlogs, it makes me realize that I have so little in comparison, but that in time I'd love to be to such a point that you are! I can't wait! god help me ive had a bad day.. i dont want to deal with other people any more... i hate customer service... i was shopping and had a customer yell at me for something someone else did. i had an allergic reaction at work. it was busy day because we had crab on sale and i was left alone to handle customers for 30 min after i was suppose to have been clocked out for the day.... i have my spaghetti, im bundled up.... and ready for this vlog. bring it.

I've been here for a few years, I watched from the beginning, I don't think I missed a single one! Looking forward to your next vlog like old times, he he. London, ohhhh I don't like cities, and fair play to you navigating the tube, I would have got lost, he he. Love the cafe vibes and I agree when you go somewhere on your own, you do survive and special abilities come forth and get you through, he he. I always trust in God when I'm in situations like that and it's surprising what other amazing things happen that you couldn't plan if you tried, he he. I went to Montana for a month on my own back in 2007 and it was 3 flights to get there, thankfully as everyone spoke english it was easier to ask for help or directions if I needed it. xx

I have the same feeling when I head into the big city. I always feel so out of place since I'm so used to living in small towns. Don't think I'd enjoy living in they city either because of how packed and gross they can be, but it's definitely a good way to break out of your shell and try out new things!

So relate to the DM's having to "break them in" I had a pair of non leather ones (which I know are meant to be worse/harder to "break in") and I swear they got worse the more I wore them 😆 I now have multiple pairs of crocs 😆

I know how you feel about going out of the comfort zone. I am also from a small town, less then 1,000 people so I get it haha. At some point I would like to set up at a craft faire. But first I shall visit one when I am ready. Social aniexty is rough sometimes.

Off to London on Saturday to meet a friend, and even though I have to go into London every 6 months or so for work I still get anxious! Even though this trip is just for fun I still feel nervous, so huge kudos to you for doing that, and finding the courage to speak at a professional event. 🎉

I got myself a pair of soft doc martens and never had issues with them, no blisters, comfy to wear from day one! lifechanger xD i think they're called virginia.
but a friend told me, her friend went to a shoemaker with their hard dm boots and had them beaten soft and never had issues to wear them after that. maybe that would help with yours! :D
