Today i changed all the abs sensors. I had the same problem as shown in the video. Now all the problems are solwed. No more 320km/t and all the other stupid symptoms, as the gearbox living its own life, hard gearing and so on.
Crazy one. Nice fix. Sensor as it heat up pulling down network?? Someone was telling me that you should change these Sensors in pairs as they are matched in the factory. If the right wheel sees a slight different in the left you can get an abs fault within a week. Be interesting to see if you have this issue.
Hello mate , watching this and the end discussion my thoughts are it was not seeing circuit codes until you disconnected the sensor, invalid data recieved over the can system from abs , Mercedes are German so like BMW you get some weird code descriptions 🙃
This was recorded some time ago but I do recall being surprised that 1 abs sensor fixed it. And it is still working 🤔 But you are correct, the German car can give misleading codes 🤷🏼♂️
@@kennedysgarage3281 Thanks for replying my friend, i am slowly going through your vid's watching the ones that catch my eye , keep them coming when you can , as others have said they are done in the real world, 👍👍
It is just telling you that there is a problem in some system in the car ie. Engine management, smart city braking, abs etc. If you have a scantool just do a full system scan and see what you find 🤔 & let me know 🙏👍
@@kennedysgarage3281 cool thank you I’ve not got a tool for that however the oil pressure light came on a few weeks ago I had it in Mazda and they just said it was a dilution issue and it needed an oil change and service and it was fine since but that warning came on last night I think I’ll take it back in there as they gave it a full bill of health two weeks ago 🤷♂️🤔
I have identical issues on my W221. Also got a crazy 260 km/h reading while idle. Checked live data while driving and all ABS sensors seem working. And at some point at while slowing down (say at 20 km/h) the ABS gets activated for a fraction of a second, and then the ABS/ESP warning pops up and stays until I restart the car and then it goes away. HOWEVER, my real problem is that I got also this warning after some time of driving (not within the first 20-30 min) and then the car loose acceleration i.e. cannot move from a still position, pressing the fas pedal does nothing, until suddenly it starts working. When driving the dar is hesitant, sometimes picks up ok sometimes not, has first kind of a lag time and slows down for 1-2 secs and than picks up the speed. I have checked all 24 spark plugs, changed fuel filter, changed gas pedal and acceleration sensor. No help. Still struggling. Erased errors. They come back. Sometimes only ABS sensors. And sometimes ABS plus version like in this video. Did not inspect the ABS sensors visually. What is the best to do? Please help.
Erase faults as done & then drive a few kms. Hopefully recreate the issue 🤞 Then scan again and fix the first faults to reappear. That would be the way I would attack your issue & what I did on my one 🤔🤔👍
Jany mac Peter I'm having the same trouble for a few months now with my mk6 golf I've had a sponge brake pedal I've have abs. traction control light. Steering wheel light. So changed out master cylinder twice bleed the brakes a bunch of times so completely fed up I've have multiple fault codes so I order abs unit and it came today going to put it in Monday hopefully this will do the job I think once the abs goes in cars from hours of googling I think the abs can cause lot of faults codes to show up hopefully Monday when I put it in on Monday my faults disappear. I use vcds and I'm getting fault like. can't be reached. And no communication hopefully this will solve my problem first time doing abs unit fingers crossed. Iv tried everything as far as I can tell from googling these abs cause a lot of problems please god this will be the fix
The abs modules have a soft coding on them that can be retrieved by a code scan on VCDS, but if you have no communication with it might be hard. They can be a pain sometimes but fingers crossed you have it sorted on Monday 😬👍
I held back on the video for 4 weeks & was speaking to the owner, lights still off so it looks like the communication issue might not be causing the problem 🤞 Or have you ever seen a sensor to cause any communication problems Chris 🤔
@@kennedysgarage3281 no not in brake systems like that. Only usual stuff with overboost and air leaks conditions causing multiple codes to set but I think you have covered that before hand.
Bad signal turns sensor off so no communication perhaps. The merc sensors very common, get heat soaked go haywire. common on fronts not so much on rear. Beware pre 2011 MY sensors work different but identical in appearance and fit

I have only changed 1 as you see & I held back the video for 4 weeks to see if any problems reoccurred & no, all is good at this point anytime D.D 🤞🤞🤞

Great videos what in your opinion does the vehicle system malfunction warning ⚠️ mean in Mazda 3, 2.2 diesel

@@waynetrill3410 I would say it is the oil strainer gauze in the sump, they block quite regularly. Have you seen my video on it?
@@kennedysgarage3281 yeah I did but surely Mazda would of or should of checked it when it was in for the oil pressure light 🤔
It’s only done 50k miles I was thinking blockage like that would be 100k onwards but I’m not a mechanic 👍

Interesting fix for now. Certainly sent the car into its own rabbit hole for the sakes of a simple abs sensor problem. Maybe time will tell.
