- Rapper 50 Cent says the policies of some progressive prosecutors in Los Angeles will ruin the city, which just reinstituted its zero-bail policy. The rapper wrote: “LA is finished. Watch how bad it gets out here.” “On Balance” host Leland Vittert says if history has anything to teach people, 50 Cent won’t be wrong. Former Detroit Police Chief Ralph Godbee provides his perspective.

LA is lost the rest of California is going quickly.
Escape from LA brings a whole new meaning.
What a cesspool.
I kinda look the future mad max baby😊
@@seek__truth919
So you want to be the survivor of a nuclear Holocaust???
L.A. has been a cess poole since I graduated there in 1969. Thank God I only lived in that state 1 year!
@@dianacurry62481969?!? Where in LA did you live back then?
@@dianacurry6248, I was born the year you graduated, and I don't know what you're talking about, as I was raised there. Sure, just like in most large cities, there will be issues. But to say that Los Angeles was a "cess poole" (sic) back then and beyond is just an outright falsehood.
For anyone wondering, zero bail policy was first brought about during covid times. 0 bail means anyone who commits a non-violent felony or misdemeanor can be released after booking.
And why is that bad ? Are it not important too look at the person and not there wallet or there need too be in jaile before court . It fun Europe don't go creazy that we can look at the person
0:29 is this guy talking s*hit about 50 Cent? He agrees with you, he's on your side!
Yeah, that's what I said. What is his criteria for character assassinating the guy? Also, Leland said that 50 Cent was from L.A. He's not. I mean, just a _simple_ search on the web would have told Leland where the guy is from. 😝
No bail? This is got to be a joke, it can't be real.
Finally, some sanity
With all of the recent videos showing all of the blatant shoplifting going on, why in God's name would you institute a policy that is essentially an "honor system" for theft? Genius.
Theyre trying to destroy America and American values. Making crime legal is one way to do it. Keep a throw down gun if you live there
Ralph Godbee said that 50 Cent is a "flawed messenger"? First off, what is that opinion based on? And secondly, isn't _everyone_ a "flawed" messenger? As we are _all_ human beings?
And Leland, you should _really_ do a better job of researching, as 50 Cent _isn't_ from Los Angeles. When I heard you say that, I was like, "What?" I'm not even into the guy's music and knew he wasn't from L.A.
This is from a _simple_ search: _"Jackson was born in the borough of Queens, New York City, and raised in its South Jamaica neighborhood by his mother Sabrina."_
P.S. During the lead-up to this story, you guys said "battery" was one of the criterions for no bail, and the last time I checked, that charge _is_ a "violent" crime.
I don’t get the no bail thing.
I just looked it up, and it means that if you commit a misdemeanor or nonviolent crime felony you can be released after booking. This all came about during the covid times.
@@Melli6000, agreed, but they also said "battery" was one of the criterions for no bail in their lead-up to this story, and the last time I checked, that charge _is_ a "violent" crime.
we forget about the poor when it's all made into a black and white issue
So basically your saying theft and basic crime is going to be EVEN WORSE than it is now. Lol good luck Cali! 😂
As a southern black man with relatives in New York, I totally agree with.5O cents. I have lived and worked in California LA and it's HORRIBLE!!!!!
It's over call Batman
Why would a community want this ?
Overcrowded jails, probably. It costs too much to house nonviolent offenders.
They're by propaganda and affluenza. Also, the cops in LA have been in the past some of the harshest mfers to ever wear the uniform.
LA is super backwards. People are incredibly uneducated and ignorant.
why is california helping criminals?? world has gone crazy. We need to replace all the politicans ro make our city safe.
Yo this is simple give everyone a gun and everyone will think twice about committing a crime or take every gun away and if you get caught with one you get life or death penalty simple
I'd choose everyone having a gun...it levels the playing field. Taking away all the guns leaves security in the hands of the strong and capable. Women, elderly, disabled, and the feeble will be at the mercy of the violent (not only humans, but dogs, etc).
@@JoshBenware great point 👍
Your first theory is pretty dumb.Heavily armed states like Texas are among the most dangerous in the nation.
If we armed everyone there'd be ten times more blood in the streets than there already is now.
DUMB IDEA.
It funny the outcry if there think it a problem people get out for not be dangerous but same time are ok people getting out just there have money .. not like we in Europe have creazy crimes for we chose to judge or people are dangerous not or there rich
Should I carry gun to work?
Ya it’s the dumbest idea ever. Crimes need to be punished first step is arrest and the getting bailed out. If you can’t afford the bail don’t break the law.
What about all the thousands of innocent people that get locked up every year? Bail was set for a reason innocent till proven guilty that’s not fair at all
True, but on the flip side, people do get wrongfully arrested. That's why due process was written from America's inception.
Pre-trial detention isn't supposed to be punishment. You don't get punished until you're found guilty.
Most countries (including the US) only require the most serious defendants remain in jail pending trial, for example: serial murderers and rapists.
Most people who sit in jail pending trial just can't afford bail... And that's because your national minimum wage is comparable to slaves. It's not because they're a dangerous offender.
Somebody get Jah on the phone. Where is Jah?
😂😂
The just commit a violent offense and get out the next day until there Court date sometime next year bud your lucky
I think it's no bail for nonviolent offenders
@@JoshBenware, except for they said "battery," which to me _is_ a violent crime.
@chuckbukethompsontenbrandc8055 yeah, if that's the case, that would definitely qualify as violent. I don't know much, just hearsay.
What an intelligent man this police chief is!
Except for he's an idiot. Otherwise, I agree with you. 😝
Remember when the D party used to fearmonger about Blake’s owning firearms?
This is the first one of Leland's videos that made sense.
Who has seen the movie The sound of Freedom?
NO ONE Should be Locked Up Before Being Proven Guilty.
Really? That’s the purpose of bail. To be out until someone has their day in court.
@@Sharon3rdand in the US, the national minimum wage is $7.50/hr so most pre-trial detention is due to poverty not danger to society. People literally can't afford to bail out. When you make $200/week you can't bail out.
Pre-trial remand is intended for the most serious behavior : serial murderers and rapists. It's not meant to keep some dude with parking violations in jail for 6 months. That's ridiculous.
No sound
Try turning up your volume.
I have no problem hearing this.
I had the same problem. So I clicked off of UA-cam then click back on it then went to library and then went back to that news episode and sound worked the second time. I've had this glitch off and on on my phone for a while I don't know why.
BS New York one of the safest cities.
Major cities. Not sure if it's true, but it would gk based on a per capita basis. Example- Chicago has the most shootings, but I believe new Orleans surpasses them per capita
It absolutely is, per capita crime statistics backs that up. I've spent weeks in NY and never felt remotely in danger. Besides some of the points discussed in the video, I think the large number of eyes on the streets really keeps crime low.
Philadelphia is a done deal nobody cares
This hack just said that NYC is the safest in America. 😂😂😂😂😂
Whole lot better than LA. Now go back to cuckolding ya cuk
This is nonsense..
who gives af what 50 cent has to think? y'all are lost man.
50 cent needs to level up on his homosexuality
