Actually it wouldn't be the environment that kills Samus since, according to the Metroid Manga, Samus was raised on Zebes (The planet you're on in Super Metroid) by the Chozo after her parents were killed by Ridley. And it's pretty unlikely she'd been given a space suit to wear constantly during that time.
Pretty much every single track in this game is memorable. Brings back so many memories of being a kid early Saturday morning, sitting on the floor with a soggy bowl of Cherrios playing this game. I can't tell you how awesome it was to be able to play this as a 10 year old when it came out. Literally magical
For an easier time switching between missiles and the beam, press Y when you are on the missile, super missile ect. Pressing Y instantly takes you back to your beam so you dont have to press select so many times. Hope this helps

Walljump is d-pad dependent, when riding a wall, press the opposite direction of the wall and jump. If you time it right, you can immediately reverse your direction and ride the wall up, jump off of it, and pull it off again and again.
theres even an exclusive pose/sprite just to show the wall jump is ready..its really not hard...these guys beat games like super ghouls and ghosts but cant do a wall jump and Im here like...how can that be..
The d-pad is the secret indeed, to do this with analogs is almost impossible. I have a friend who can finish super metroid using smartphone touch controls, he can even do wall jumps, it's crazy
It's trickier to get down than Mario but better once you master it because you can potentially scale a vertical wall without the need of a second wall to kick from.
I'm not a fan of speed running games, I like to take in games, no matter how many times I've played it. It doesn't make sense to me that someone would want to explode through a great game. To each their own, not taking the piss, I'm just saying.

About Roger Rabbit, there were actually plans to make a second Roger Rabbit movie. Believe it or not, the idea was to have toons enlisted to fight in a war, because toons are unkillable. Plans fell through because of fights between Disney and Amblin. Any Roger Rabbit movie would require the permission of both companies in order to be made, and they couldn't agree on anything.

Good story and probably the closest we'll get to a TNG return
FYI ~ If you hold a charge beam shot, you will effectively have a single screw attach while spin jumping. The charge gets consumed when you hit an enemy, but it makes that spring ball sequence break a bit easier. If your looking for more super Metroid action, there are tons of great ROM hacks of this game. I recommend Super Zero Mission and Super Metroid Redesign.

It kind of hinted that that's what happened at the end of Nemesis. "Never saw the sun"
In the walljump chasm with the bats, my strategy was to spam the top area with power bombs whenever I jump up there. Once they're dead, you can pass straight through on your next set of walljumps

If you it right you charge your suite you will be glowing. The tap forward and jump you will do a fly dash forward from that grey door by your ship you will fly across that whole screen and through the wall above your ship to the left and there is an energy tank there
They also missed an energy tank in crateria where they shot that robot into the pit next to the choco statue thing if you power bomb it clears the statue away and the wall behind it. Then super run and tap down and rocket jump up above the statue there is another tank man
in the room right before the gravity suit where you have the statue walk through the spikes, where the speed booster blocks are, lay a power bomb to destroy the sitting statue on the right and the wall behind it. it will lead you to a reserve tank

One of my fav things to do in super metroid, was running using speed booster, then stopping while holding down, so samus would be charged up from the speed booster and then i'd jump and she'd go rocketing into the sky until she hit the ceiling. anyone here do that?
I know this comes a little late (since your play through is probably done), but you can use the item cancel button (default Y) to quickly switch from your missiles or other items back to your standard beam... which is handy when fighting Phantoom (the ghost boss).
The only other media that I've seen or heard the word Spazer is from UFO Robo Grendizer. They were just the names of the various backpacks Grendizer could use in the show.
Data is not dead, he was rebooted in the B4 body. Star Trek titan Novel Typhon Pact is where he comes back. They really could use the books that fill in the after years for one more movie. I know in a comic book before trek 09 Data was Captain of Enterprise E and Picard was ambassador to Vulcan.
Tim Tam in mine and many others opinion this was the best Metroid and one of the best games in general, ever. if you play it do yourself a favor and don't spoil it for yourself, Or use a walkthrough, even if you feel super stuck. It was very satisfying to figure things out in this game.
sometimes I just like to have James and Mike as background noise. I like listening to them talk so I didn't see the game play so I didn't spoil much of anything! :) I'll play it as soon as I have time.
Where you get the spring ball, you can actually escape without it, i've done enough randomizers to find this out the hard way, but you have to jump and double tap down really fast before you hit the ceiling and hold either left or right depending on which direction you need to go.

I think "Spazer" is just a stylization of the word "spacer". You can select and deselect it as an option - it just spaces out your shot.
It was sort of implied that B4 is going to end up as a 'Data Reborn', as if he'd always had a closely confided with twin with him all this time. At least that was what I got from it. His name could 'Info'.

The boss at the crashed space ship is incredibly easy. All you have to do is use the missiles. I'm surprised you had trouble with it.

One of my fav things to do in super metroid, was running using speed booster, then stopping while holding down, so samus would be charged up from the speed booster and then i'd jump and she'd go rocketing into the sky until she hit the ceiling. anyone here do that?
I know this comes a little late (since your play through is probably done), but you can use the item cancel button (default Y) to quickly switch from your missiles or other items back to your standard beam... which is handy when fighting Phantoom (the ghost boss).
I'm pretty sure 'Spazer' is a portmanteau of 'Spread Lazer', because it's the spread beam.
FUN FACT: Ralph Macchio is now older than Pat Morita was when they made Karate KId.

The only other media that I've seen or heard the word Spazer is from UFO Robo Grendizer. They were just the names of the various backpacks Grendizer could use in the show.
Data is not dead, he was rebooted in the B4 body. Star Trek titan Novel Typhon Pact is where he comes back. They really could use the books that fill in the after years for one more movie. I know in a comic book before trek 09 Data was Captain of Enterprise E and Picard was ambassador to Vulcan.

Tim Tam in mine and many others opinion this was the best Metroid and one of the best games in general, ever.
if you play it do yourself a favor and don't spoil it for yourself, Or use a walkthrough, even if you feel super stuck. It was very satisfying to figure things out in this game.
sometimes I just like to have James and Mike as background noise. I like listening to them talk so I didn't see the game play so I didn't spoil much of anything! :) I'll play it as soon as I have time.
Can confirm, since last week been playing it and finally beat it yesterday. Its a bitch of a game.
The only game that come close to Super Metroid is Metroid Zero Mission.
Where you get the spring ball, you can actually escape without it, i've done enough randomizers to find this out the hard way, but you have to jump and double tap down really fast before you hit the ceiling and hold either left or right depending on which direction you need to go.
