Very good. Thank you very much
Glad you liked it!
That looks great!
😋
I appreciate your post-production note on how to transport the cabbage.
Looks delicious
👍🏻👍🏻
dang now i want some steamed cabbage and sausage
Another great video...........Just a casual observation I notice you play with your food a lot.
Now , that was pretty smart cooking 🍳. THANKS MAN
Thanks for watching
You are my favorite UA-cam canteen chef
Well thank you.
The canteen cup and cook stove is the way to go , using a stainless steel cup and if you run out of fuel, there's always plenty of dry grass and wood and if it's raining, you can use a fire starter to boil water ?
Dinner looked good..i didn't even notice the traffic till you said something...i live on a busy highway...you should try an alcohol stove with a simmer ring to cook slow.
Love cabbage with sausage! I see a lot of bushcrafters, survivalists, campers, and backpackers prepare meals. You, my man, are one who knows what you're doing! I see too many put in the ingredients that takes less time to cook first and then ingredients that take more time are put in last. And some want to boil the hell out of everything.
Thanks, I enjoy cooking and am having fun experimenting with what we can do at camp.
I see the same thing. A lot of them want to teach us how to cook but don't know the first thing about it themselves. LOL
love cabbage and sausage. Looks good!!
Great job! Thanks for taking us along. Welcome to the canteen cooking club!
Looks great...quite the chef! THAT is canteen cup cooking!
I know I'm late to the party, but only thing I could see that needs improvement is either a little vinegar or a Louisiana style hot sauce that's high in vinegar. Yum!
That would be a great addition.
@@journeyofbear6423 by the way, I'm a new subscriber all because of this video lol.
I can almost smell it. It looks delicious!!
I'm going to have to try that meal myself. Thanks & keep enjoying the great out of doors.
AWESOME! Welcome to the Club my brotha! Great selection man, looks awesome...
Thanks. I've been coming up with a few ideas, including a few unconventional ways to use a canteen cup for cooking.
I just got myself a canteen cup and I end up here. Subbing ya. Good cooking.
Thanks, hope you enjoy your cup!
And here I thought that was just a goofup on my part with the handle clip coming loose. I love sausage with cabbage. Nom nom!
The cars didn't bother me at all. A lot better than someone in the woods with nothing but wind noise pounding the mic. Great video and great meal.
that looks incredibly edible. I really enjoy cabbage in a lot of dishes. If you're concerned about the cabbage going off you could switch it out with kraut, a little different texture and flavor but it pairs well with all kinds of sausages
I love a good kraut dog!
A bit late, but you really need to tweek that cup handle so it doesn't shake loose. Hope you've fixed it by now.
Now that you say it, I could give the tabs a little bend.
Love this!! I am a big fan of cabbage and sausage! Fantastic meal - I might need to make myself something like that soon!
That a spaghetti dish
I have an aluminum canteen cup. Yay or nay?
It should work. I have other camp cookware that is aluminum. It will be lighter weight than this cup.
JourneyofBear thanks! just heard people saying it’s not “healthy” but haven’t seen anything concrete. I like aluminum because it heats faster.
@@Supremebean303 the current science says we don't get enough aluminum from our food to cause any harm. A healthy person should pass what we take in from food. There is already some aluminum in some foods before we cook it.
High levels of aluminum have been found in the brains of people with Alzheimer's. There is no science to understand why or if the two are connected.
I think the bigger issue is getting to know your cookware and it's limits. For example acidic foods (tomato, lemons) don't like aluminum. It can effect flavor.
"O" boy I do like Cabbage and Sausage anytime , anywhere. I fry up my sausage 1st , Naturally some Jimmy Dean Sausage. When the sausage is cooked the way I like it , it's set aside. Then I drain off some of the sausage grease and add the cabbage. Stir it to mix it up then add a little water for steam and cover.. Check to see if the cabbage is wilted but still on the crisp side. Then the sausage is added and mixed up. Next is some salt and i like lots of black peeper. Dish it up and have some Corn Bread and Honey with it. At home it's a cast iron frying pan for the cabbage and sausage. Out camping basically anything I can get my hands on for the cabbage. To fix the corn bread out camping I use a Bakepacker unit and a pot with a lid.
Very nice. It sounds like you like to do a little camp cooking also.
@@journeyofbear6423 ... . Out camping , I naturally do all my own on solo trips. On trips with others ( especially canoe trips ) I do all the evening meals for the group ( sometimes Breakfast also ) . I guess they like the meals since they will not let me wash any dishes. It's the ....You cook , We clean.
@@Oldsparkey Very nice.
This one I was making quite a bit after seeing this vid!
