I think my fav would be Greg Davies telling his school story - Ryan Gosling is literally wetting himself.
In case nobody has explained it yet, he was talking about working as a ‘blue coat’ at a holiday park. Butlins and Pontins were two big rival holiday parks in the 70s/80s with sites around the UK coast - some still operating today. The blue coats and red coats were basically entertainment staff employed by the parks to do comedy/host events in the evenings etc. When he says he was sent to Morecambe (North West England), he’s basically saying he was sent to a not so nice holiday park after that little incident on his original site…

Correct. The Pontins at Hemsby where Lee was based when this happened closed some years ago, there are urban explorer videos looking round the site on here.
If you only ever watch one more video from the Graham Norton show, please watch the one with Mirian Margolyes as a guest, and if you don't nearly fall off your chair laughing I will personally fly over to Florida and buy the beers all night for you and the Queen!

@Jaimarilyn there are several clips of MM on different episodes of GM and every time she's got stories that will curl your hair.
That is 100% a true story. The holiday park he worked in at the time was Pontins at Hemsby, Norfolk - sadly it shut down a few years ago, it is now derelict and there are a few urban explorer videos on here about it. Whenever I've watched one of those and they go into the entertainment complex I think about Lee's story.
Catherine Tate and Tom Cruise is a very good choice, but honestly, Greg Davies telling his teaching story to Jodie Foster, Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling is pure gold. Literally, if you’re ever feeling down at any stage in your life, watch that clip. It never fails to cheer you up!

The lady in question is called Miriam Margolyes. If you are into Harry Potter she played Professor Pomona Sprout, plus many films over a 60 year period. She is a Jewish lesbian and very open about it.

So many good clips from Graham Norton. On of my favourites has to be Kate Beckinsale's prank story. Although her pantomime horse story is right up there too! (As well as being incredibly beautiful she seems to be naughty and funny as well. .... no, I can't think of anything better either!!!)
How Graham is successful, is that he gets guests on to have a good time together. There's no setting anyone up against another for the sake of drama. He's no sap and he can be occasionally naughty or teasing but it's never mean or spiteful - unless it's the Red Chair... ;) You'll have to watch a few of those!! Guests come to trust him and so you get the best of them and a great hour's entertainment all round.
Lee Mack has a good sitcom called not going out, but some of the stuff he did on The Sketch Show is comedy gold. For more current stuff, if ever Bob Mortimer appears on would I lie to you, it's always with Mack and very highly recommended

There are some great Graham Norton Show compilations. One in particular 'Try Not to Laugh on the Graham Norton Show - Part 2'. It includes an episode of the Red Chair and another section has the guests doubled up with laughter.

what's great about Graham Norton is he tends to give his guests alcohol before and during the show. it makes for great TV as by the time the guests come out to talk, they're already at least tipsy. Mark Wahlberg was very drunk when he appeared on the show 😆😆

Firstly she refers to him as a young man, then she asks his occupation, he replies "soldier". American is not mentioned at all. Three things for you to do a) watch the clip and listen carefully, b) check your facts before you post in future c) if you are honest, apologise for your over emphatic (four exclamation marks, really?) response to my initial correction.

You should have a look for Miriam Margolyes (pronounced Margolees) it's a long video at around 50 minutes but she is so very funny, things that you wouldn't believe she just comes right out and says them, very typically British, Graham Norton is wetting himself as are the other guests from start to finish, well worth the effort because you really don't expect her to be so open about so many different things in life, and the lady has lived.
Hi K&QB, Yep agree I'm not a talk show fan but the total exception is Graham Norton who genuinely has had some of the funniest moments ever on UK TV, I think as opposed to American networks the guests can swear, be rude etc in a way that possibly wouldn't be allowed/approved of in the mainstream U.S environment? I think they show a watered down version on BBC America, but the originals are best. Catherine Tate and Tom Cruise is worth checking out. I'll let someone else explain the Kent joke. Suffice to say it does sound different when you say it in different local accents, hence the "What did you call me?!" in the original joke 😆

Another comedian you should watch is Ross Noble, he’s very surreal but hilarious
the main chat show on the bbc used to be The Jonathan Ross Show. Ross was sacked because he played a phone prank on radio with russel brand and got it all wrong. Sacking him was a big loss because his show was very popular. Then they brought in Graham norton from channel 4.
it isnt anything about Norton that's great, it's the set up with the bbc. i think the Ross show was better. I remember one episode where Jim Carey came on, Johnny Vegas was on it and then it just became a totally bonkers party.

Regarding Lee mack, as far as I'm aware Lee started as a witty radio host before making his name after appearing on TV panel shows and a sit com called "not going out". I may be wrong but I'm not aware of Lee mack doing actual stand up. Happy to be proven wrong though.
Lee started off at Pontins as a Blue Coat Entertainer.
In 2001 he did The Sketch Show, before moving to Radio 2 for The Lee Mack Show, which he did for 2 years.
He's done the comedy circuit, and in 1995 he won "So You Think You're Funny" at the Edinburgh COmedy Festival.
