I would hope this means that Kickstarter would provide you with information to start a case against the scammer in court but as you said, Kickstarter also has no legal obligation and as a company that clearly doesn’t care about its users they probably wouldn’t even bother to dig up the information.

There's this obscure physics engine I use that hasn't been updated since 2013 because that's when it became free, at this point I'm inclined to learn how to use the languages and libraries, apply for a job at the business that owns it, slowly rise to the top, put funding back into it, fix all the bugs and add desperately needed features (like the ability to change ONE element in an ARRAY, like jeez I'd imagine that's important, considering the userbase had to find a way to work around it by itself), and resign.
