I just have to say that this is the best explanation/video I have seen on this subject. Your delivery is clear, concise, illustrative and above all, understandable. Fantastic, I now have my head around this👍
Mr. Parapluie, the details of your explanations are brilliant and your voice is just lovely. This combination makes it most enjoyable to focus as I am learning from you.
Thank you... A thousand times! We covered this in class today & It was as clear as mud.. It was explained in French with no comparison to English as you have done. Yet again incredible video, explaining what these pro nouns are, how they are used differently English, why we get caught out (as English speakers) & a simple rule to follow. About to watch the other 2 videos in this group as we will be covering lequel etc tomorrow. Thank you in advance for saving me from tomorrow's 2 hours class that I would otherwise spend wanting to jump out the window!
Merci beaucoup. John
Man, you're a great techer. Merci beaucoup et sorry for my bad french...
THANKS MATE, you've put me out of my misery. Before watching this video, these were practically the words I HATED.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!! IVE WATCHED SOOOOOO MANY VIDEOS ABOUT QUI AND QUE.....and none has helped except this one. Im currently attending french classes twice a week at a colledge and every prof's explanation of qui and que have not been helpful AT ALL! thanks for clearing this up!! appreciate it!
First of all a BIG thanks to you for helping clear this up for me, your videos are absolutely awesome! There is however one thing that is making me pull my hair out. In the phrase, "Je cherche l'artiste qui habite ici" The artist is clearly the subject when you are using the relative pronoun. This I understand, all is well. HOWEVER the thing that is confusing the f**k out of me is that the artist is also the object is it not? In the mainclause Je is the subject performing the verb cherche onto the object l'artiste. This is haunting my dreams because whenever I see a sentence I immediately identify that which is the subject as an object and then my head starts hurting. If you have some old tip laying around to help me sort this out I would be eternally grateful. Please keep up the good work!!
+Parapluie French Thank you!! I will definately keep this in mind, that actually cleared alot of things up for me! You are as grand as you are beautiful my good Sir, mighty appreciated!
Cordialement
I am a bit confused because in the sentence "I have a car" the car is not the subject, "I" am, and the car is being "had" by me, making it an object. The film is also being seen by me, also an object. I don't see a real difference in them.
Your analysis of those parts of the sentences is correct. The car and the film are both objects of the first verb. However, with qui and que, it's about their relationship to the second verb ('is' for the car, 'liked' for the film). Do the same analysis with those verbs in mind and you'll find that the car is the subject of 'is' (it is 'being red') whereas the film is the object of 'liked' (it is being liked by me). That's where the two differ. I hope that helps 😊
This is an excellent video. But please forgive me for asking a really basic question which follows from this video. Je pense que and je trouve que means they are always the object. I think that it is not right to believe in...…. I find that your opinions are of value - these beginnings are all objects then I would imagine?
Hello! I can understand everything when you speak in English, but when it comes to french I'm a beginner, and you talk to fast. Could you slow down please in your next video. Thanks Fernando
"I saw a film that I liked." I thought there was a rule in the french language where you can't use the same subject twice in a sentence. So the translation "J'ai vu un film que j'ai aimé" shouldn't work because you used "je" twice right?
Dude you are a great teacher your helping me pass French thank you
You’re
...and to pass English, you will have to say "you're helping me pass", not "your helping me pass"
@@dickiegreenleaf1358 Actually he should have said that "you helped me pass my exam"
nagu america Tho OC never said anything about an exam. He was talking about French class and it’s continuous “You’re helping me pass French”

I’ve watched a LOT videos about qui vs que and your‘s THE BEST so far! I think I’m ready for my French Test this week 🤪

"J'ai une voiture qui est rouge" "une voiture" is the object and "qui" goes anyway
@@ParapluieFrench perfectly!! Thanks a lot for the answer and for the fast answer👏👏👏
Fantastiquement expliquer. Merci Beaucoup Monsieur!!
The best teacher and the best way !!
So the difference is kind of like "who" vs "whom" in (formal) English, but applies to non-humans as well as humans.
Tout à fait 😁
Thank you are a great at explaining french so much easier for me now

Can someone justify the use of "Qui" in the following: Qu'est-ce qui vous intéresse? (What is of interest to you?)
Merci Beaucoup! Votre videos sont tres utile. (dont know if i said that right)
Thanks! Well explained.🙂
best explanationnnnn
Thank you this what a great help!
J'aime les films qui sont amusants. Does this not break the rule? the film are the object therefore it should be que, but its qui.
+Parapluie French Oh, I understand now, thanks!
wonderful
