AirPod Max is better than expected. The ear-cups swivel to tuck flat in their case. You may be pleasantly surprised as I have been.
Yes but they don't fold 'up' they are essentially the same form factory but just thinner.
I agree to EU‘s rules about USB-C. *sorry
I am too. but i more onto agree everyone should certified to make "converter" to usb-c. Like if apple want to make lightning cable, there is certified standard, every new cable need to design adapter to convert to usb-c and make it open. other factory can make the adapter and get certified
(I mean the lightning and usb-c is like the v3.0 or v5.0 of UK vs us electric plug????) Why uk electric plug is forced to, not usb-c...i think middle ground converter standard is goood
me too.
I’m too. Taking care of the environment and user convenience is paramount. Thanks to the Europe we all win, and the Europeans also got Apple to open the system allowing applications to be installed from outside the AppStore.
The E.U legislation is to prevent waste. Apple ,with their proprietary bollocks sucks.😂😂😂😂
Regarding the Apple Vision Pro, I'd like to think of it as a 2-way device: a mass entertainment consumption device for media like you said, planes, trains, etc., but most of the time I think of this as a productivity device especially for developers. where you will have many screens at once, tests running, etc., or even for reliability or operations people who need to have many dashboards and near real-time information from complex systems. Perhaps with this they will be like the initial computers that were intended for scientists in universities and are now everywhere.
Seriously though, I liked Jig Space App a lot. The idea you can get something that is not there, right in front of you, at its real size and take it apart, so you can handle each part one by one, check its size, I mean, just for forniture assembly is already a great use.
the top use for the Vision Pro I can think is multiple macOS displays on the vision pro, not just one. That's it. if the quality of the displays are so good, then there's the practical value of multiple portable displays for Mac.
AirPod Max noise cancelation is next level, and it supports audio sharing. Bose is good but does not allow audio sharing. Priceless when watching shows in the same room as sleeping kids, or on a plane.
Mega Lightning. I can hear the thunder 😂
Hi, Alex, How are you? Happy to see you here😊! Love from india
The white crown and lightning makes me think Vision Pro hasn’t really been touched since its last design pass by Ive.
Apple isn't a private company. Its public
😂 you got me
It’s not that it was designed before this EU law, it’s that Apple doesn’t sell Vision Pro here in Europe.
likely because they can't lmao. a swing, a-miss for apple
They can’t and that is awesome. Here in Europe we do not need companies that think only about their profits and ignore the environment.
Solution to the problem: make the lightning port thick
NO LIGHTNING. I LOVE HOW THE EU IS GIVING APPLE THE BOOT.
I don't. The EU should not be able to regulate companies the way they do.
@@anianii It is awesome the way they do... ufff
@@agprime That is not what I’m saying. It’s certainly not awesome, but from a business perspective it’s logical and I’d do the exact same thing (or in this case not even try to comply)
If you don’t like apple, just don’t by its products.
@@eliascamacho 😂😂😂😂😂😂 LOVE THE USB C 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 AND NOW SIDELOADING 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"They are a private company" so why do we care about consumer protection, privacy, anti-competition? Private companies can't just do what they want. It must be subject to regulation for the the greater good.
then you’re putting the power of deciding what “greater good” means in the hands of people that didn’t create the thing in the first place. is that what you want?
@@AZisk They are not just people, they are government, regulators and the likes and they exist for a reason. As a people, we directly or indirectly appoint them to make the decisions they make for us. They have not been in a position to dictate what revolutionary product Apple should make but they have an obligation to ensure that regardless of the innovation, there are some checks.
How would it be to use the Vision Pro instead of multiple external monitors? You could have different safari tabs as virtual screens in the air. If a third party lets us mirror several virtual desktops to the Vision Pro, that would be awesome.
As a developer, the virtual space looks cool and im very excited about the improvements in recent VR devices but at the end of the day, a regular desk setup with proper monitor, mouse and keyboard is just way better for now... Immerse in a virtual desktop for work is "ok" but it's not natural, you need to force things to work similar to a normal physical space
Now let's hope EU make NVMe default
I would've preferred that physical lightning + Thunderbolt 4 to become the standard.
You do understand that the battery has USB C on it right? And the AVP comes with a USB C to USB C cable as well as a USB C charger right? this is the cable that connects the battery to the headset that isn't made to come out unless you break the cable.
2:50 🤣 You made a double sword statement there.
1. EU said change the port pointing to environmental concern to Apple as well other companies which don't have type C which I think are none.
2. If EU wants to protect their country environment as well give their residents best device experience then they can make legislation.
3. If Apple can do whatever heck they can while thinking people will buy it anyway then countries or EU can have consumer protection implementation as well in check to keep companies in line with what consumers deserve.
4. Buy if you want else don't buy Apple products. Well, if that is how it goes then either follow EU said rules which were said in advance and grow your business there else don't like the rules then don't do business there.
SIMPLE AS THAT. IF APPLE CAN DO WHATEVER THEY WANT THEN EU CAN DO WHATEVER THEY WANT AS WELL.
*THIS BELONGS TO BLAH BLAH THEY CAN DO WHATEVER THEY WANT* This statement sounds so revolutionary in this era but it itself comes with so many loopholes to backfire itself.
It is convenient, we’ll see about the waste part 😭
So we can adapt the vision pro cable to USB-C, and use and battery bank we want directly.
Great video! Is the title misspelled on purpose though? 🙂
Oops.. Fixed as I wrote the comment!
It’s not a lightning cable it’s a thunder cable 🤣
They haven't released the vision pro in the EU yet, so they are at the moment allowed to not use it, but may have to switch the connector for the EU compatible version then when or if they release it any time soon
Well while usbc has benefits but lightning ports are actually much more sturdy and can withstand a lot more of mistreatment (dirt in port and cleaning the port) as the usbc port which can break easily (the part in your expensive device).
Well, I imagine that depends on the quality of the USBC port. I have had USB phones for 7 years and yep, have had to clean the port out of dust everynow and then because it is usually stuffed in my trouser pockets, but that seemed a fair enough exchange for being able to use any connector when out of the house. I also have faster transfer speeds, better power delivery and have had no more port issues than Iphone users. Keep in mind that my "daily driver" computer wise is a Macstudio i am not toally against Apple, just comments like this do make me shake my head a little. That and the billions of $ they made on cable and license sales.
@@ggproductions7078 yep i doo have usbc on my phone now too. it is convenient and lightning was outdated. just saying that lightning was more robust and easier to clean. (it isnt too difficult to damage female usbc ports when dust and stuff is suck in it and blowing out isnt enough and you need to dig it out.) just wanted to say lightning wasn't as bad as some want it to look like.
oh sure@@Superbus753 , I have found myself having to dig around for a needle every now and then so no arguments there. As I said, I imagine you make the decision yourself on which trade offs you are happy to accept. The amount of times people would ask if anyone has a lightning cable for charging (not in the states, seems the vast majority of folks have Iphones over there) to be greeted with nope, sorry about that. The data transfer speed was, actually is ,madly slow (no doubt trying to get you to fully enter into the eco system so you can use airdrop) it was, as they say, sooooo Apple and no doubt they will add some sort of "tweak" that doesnt work well unless it is an Apple cable. I mean, it was Apple being Apple and it clearly worked, look how much the company is worth!
Vision Pro is just absolutely completely utterly silly.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
i’m glad that at least the battery module is replaceable..
As a dev I am thinking a lot about what to to with the Vision Pro, I am in France then I have to wait, my thoughts are about some simple and funny 3D video game … and I wonder how the terminal experience can use this virtual space… Xcode, debuggers, simulators like a big screen, that said I use already the iPad as an external screen to put the Xcode simulator in it, even if I have a Wide curved display connected to my MBP … As a dev, terminals, Xcode, debuggers, simulator… a lot of thins can benefit from a Vision Pro
Well said, Apple should do what they want.
U know most hated creation by Apple is Mogic mouse 🐁
Which loves lightning ⚡😜
I tried that mouse and threw it away . It’s the worst mouse I have ever used .
Yep, I still keep lightning cable for my iPhone 5S and SE first edition 😂
Something I really don't get is why that external battery has so little capacity, it's the size of a 10-15Ah battery but it only has like ~3.8Ah
you're only looking at half the picture. the nominal voltage on the vision pro is 13V-- much higher than most other systems. this means you can draw fewer amps to do the same amount of work (which is measured in watts). therefore it's only relevant to compare batteries by amp hours if they produce the same nominal voltage. watt hours is the "normalized" and more generally useful way to measure capacity. and the vision pro's battery is almost 36 watt hours-- more than 50% larger than what's on the meta quest pro and even more than the quest 3 and other headsets.
Oh it makes perfect sense... too-small battery with proprietary charging port... perfect recipe to upsell you on a bigger battery than only Apple makes later.
@@sasca854 so, in other words, that battery is like an external laptop battery instead of your typical power bank, which is why it doesn't have a huge capacity in terms of Ah but it has enough "oomph" to power a laptop-kind-of device like the vision pro right? Because it kind of is a small macbook
main problem with lightning is usb 2.0 speeds..
That's the same thing with the USB-C port on iPhone 15. Lightning could support USB 3, just like USB-C, Apple just opted not to do so on the iPhone
I wonder if this is just a sign of how long the hardware has been delayed.
I have AirPods Max. I used to have Bose QC 35 for an over the ear headset. After listening to audio on the AirPods Max for awhile, I put the QCs back on and it sounded like a $2 pair of headphones lol
I actually have the AirPods Max and I used to have the exact same Bose you have and honestly the Max sounds a lot nicer and has top of the line noise cancellation. I agree with you 100% about the governments shouldn't force private companies to stick to a specific standard.
People are going to use it for those websites you can’t talk about (forbidden silent urls)
The airpods max air absolutely amazing for zoom meetings the audio canceling extends to the mic
There's no monitor glare with Vision Pro, so you can use it outside in the sunlight. It will give you a weird tan line on your face.
As of now you cannot open up multiple windows of a MacBook Pro. Just one screen . So sad. Hope they will add multiple windows and a lot of people will buy this . Right now each app has one window. Will Apple allow alternative App Store in EU? Will big tech company have apps on Vision Pro with very small user base on a closed system that takes a cut from their sales ?
I'm looking forward to your Python benchmark on the new Vision Pro.
As a developer I don’t see why I should invest in a compact glorified monitor on my face.
For the same price I can get 2 studio display that are more than enough to code or even 8 LG monitors to cover the entire wall of my office.. more monitors are just impractical in the end and the same principle applies to more windows in “space computing” (because vr wasn’t apple enough)
Besides coding is a nice gadget, I can see the potential in games and movies and/or if the App Store will offer a killer app. But now is still too early, the battery not even last a work shift and the price too high.
Maybe will become mature enough around Vision Pro VI
Nonetheless I can’t to look forward for your review, developers have always another mindset and maybe you will find something interesting that will change my mind
I would compare 3d development between it and the Quest 3.
Don't buy if you don't want? what if: Don't SELL if you don't want 😉😉🤓🤓
Disclaimer: I am not a professional developer but I have read that this feature of Vision Pro might come in handy if one if concerned with privacy and/or security. That is, one can synch the Vision Pro with a Apple Silicon based laptop and once done, the Vision Pro will then become the display screen for the laptop while at the same time disable the laptop display from active use. No one near you would be able to see what you are working on by glancing at the laptop display.
How about using the apple vison pro to open multiple VS Code windows along with your web browser.
Cannot right now . One window only
I have the quest 2 and enjoy playing golf and the American football but I am excited to watch films in 3-D. Also, CAD systems may able to take advantage of this, what you think.
You cannot open multiple windows from what I got . So if you connect a Mac. One screen
This confirms no vision pro for EU, for now.
lol. might as well be with the shipping times
Remember when your phone, MP3 player, PDA and GPS all had different charging bricks with proprietary plugs? The EU had the right idea but they were ten years too late.
They helped make Micro USB the general standard 10 years ago. Before that, they were all weird and wacky as you mentioned.
develop an IDE which makes use of all elements of visionOS, crazy wide lines for coding and definitely better productivity.
The foldable ones will be airpods ultra
Vision Pro battery is USB-C, every review already showed and was posted before this video. So what is happening here?🤔
Love your content!!
Thank you!!
Well… you will never see that lightning since it’s connected to the battery and the other end connects to the Vision Pro. I’ts not supposed to be disconnected from the battery. The battery itself is charged with a USB-C cabel. So I don’t see a problem here.
Great!
The next AirPods Max won’t be foldable. Instead it will be so thin as to only exist in two dimensions…
😆
VisionPro Usages:
1. Big monitors in bed (bonus points if wify asleep next by and is sensitive to light);
2. Coding with a lot of tabs?
Can't wait to play Steam games with 4K resolution while lying on my bed! It can be totally hands-free!
the legend
I wanted to buy it for what is advertised for - spatial computing. But the ONLY meaningful feature - extending your mac display. Is LIMITED to ONE 4k screen. I mean it runs M2, it can technically run all your apps such as vscode, xcode etc...THEY made decision to put there visionOS instead. so they could at least let us use osx windows in spatial computer ffs
Alex, I fo have the AirPods Max and I purchased a slim hardcover travel case for it on Amazon for $25 in March of 2021. The headphones ear cups can rotate to minimize the travel height of the AirPods Max so I suspect that my travel case is actually smaller than your Bose Comfort Headphone travel case. The case is roughly 8" X 8" X 2" but is shaped much like a "squashed Apple". Really. Grin.
Watching sports could be great on vision pro - john lepore showcased a nice idea for formula 1
maybe it could become a tool for cad type of stuff?
This is absolutely funny !!!

12 pin Lightning
AirPod maxes are really good you should review them for a video, they have great noise canceling.
and has audio sharing
First thing developer for more than 1 screen then Remote Desktop manager
Forgive me if I am missing a joke here, I am new to this channel, but I have the AVP and it is most definitely USB-C. What am I missing here? I read through numerous comments and watched this twice and checked the description and am just a bit confused as to where this “lightning max” (joke?) is coming from?
Ok, I understand now. The charging port is USB C but the connector from the battery to the device itself is apparently this new connector. I hope I didn’t add more confusion!
no problem. welcome to the channel. how are you finding the avp?
Does the tech goat respond?
3:55 You could of course but only when the plane is not moving. It seems that visionpro does not like a moving environments.. apple things 🤷♂️
there is a travel mode you have to enable, which many reviewers missed
I hope that you did not throw away your lightning cables. They cost £17 each from Apple and they do wear out and so you should have given them away to someone who does not own an iPhone 15.
i sell my old iphones and get usually more than 50% back for them. I include the box and cables
Hmmmm, you never thought lightning was bad? That's interesting, cause you test apps and maybe potentially transfer a lot of video files from your phone. Charging and transfer are so slow. I've just always found it crazy how Xcode over wifi is like 2x faster than wired. Also leaves me wondering how much they inconvenienced headset owners cause I guess they have to remain plugged in for longer if they run out of juice
Thing is, that Apple designs their products in a way that makes it hard to upgrade, repair or just get replacement parts. And they are making it unnecessarily hard. Just for the reason of making it hard. That is something that you cannot do as a company, if you have a certain market dominance and Apple does have this dominance. They get you into the eco system, you buy their products and with each generation it gets harder to maintain the Laptops, phones etc. yourself. Getting out of that walled garden is not so easy and for some people, not buying their products is not an (easy) option any more (app developers for instance...).
So yes, some regulations need to be in place. If we let companies do whatever the heck they want, consumers/end users will lose. Always.
The vision pro? No idea what to with this... But I also don't need a watch from Apple or their headphones. I don't use a watch and my headphones have a very much better price to performance ratio 😉

Question for your Vision Pro video: how much time can you code using Apple Vision PRO taking out the variable of the battery life: let's said that you connect to the charger and you start to write code there for hours, in case that VS code is not available use your mac from Vision PRO, mostly my question came from the fact that iJustine said that for her is hard to use it for more than 45 minutes. So is it tiring for the eyes or for the head since it's too heavy? and another question I have which I made to iJustine and Marques: what it will happend if you are in the same physical room with another person using Apple Vision PRO? how do you see the other person? is it going to show his/her persona in your view? this scenario is difficult because you need at least 2 Apple Vision PRO and 2 people in the same room
i have a hard time with my meta quest 3 for more than 40 minutes. let’s see…
Ok, I will wait for your next video to listen your experience about using it, but if it’s hard to use it for more than 45 minutes it’s not worthy to spend 3500$ for me at least…
I'm not a developer I just want to know if Xbox cloud gaming is possible
I can't wait for your Vision Pro video. Let's just say I reside on the skeptical side of its usefulness in any capacity. 😂
Why are you using a 6S for app testing? The 6S is outdated and doesn’t even support iOS 17
He’s testing for his app running on old phones with old versions of iOS. He also tests with his iPhone 15 on the latest iOS.
@@JohnPMiller true I suppose
Thank Goodness for the EU's legislation. The battery plug ... giant lightning port is hilarious. The Vision Pro's technology is quite good, but there are some "hard no" moments that actually stop us from buying the device in our own VR lab for my organization. Bringing the hammer down, not doing it. Get with the times Apple.
I bet the big wide cable still does USB 2.0 speeds too lmao. I actually hope that the EU will prevent the sale of the device so that Apple has to get their sh** together. And in regards to not having to support universal standards? I want to paint a picture for you: iPhones, except for the iPhone 15 Max, Pro, Super, or whatever the heck they call it, all transfer over USB 2.0 speeds over the wire. Uhm. That's 20 year old speeds of ... what, 20Mbps? Whereas a proper USB C cable can get 20 - 40 Gbps. For home users, people are probably quite used to "airdropping" their large files to their machine. No problem. Now imagine you're in a classroom, where everyone has an iphone and a Macbook (which, funnily enough, has a USB C charging port capable of 40Gbps) and they all want to try and airdrop their files at the same time. The result? The wireless spectrum gets so clogged with these simultaneous attempts to airdrop, NOBODY can airdrop, and the file transfer fails. The fall back? A wire, which has transfer speeds from 20 years ago, where every phone within the last... what, 7? Can transfer at AT LEAST USB 3.0 speeds. It's hilarious, and also insulting for the price you pay for the device, which otherwise has good hardware (even if it is designed with planned obsolescence in mind, something I'm sure our great grandchildren will all thank us for when we suck the earth's rare minerals dry)
This isn't a discussion on "don't buy their product" when you're talking about a company as ubiquitous as Apple. When a company grows sufficiently large enough, you have to admit at some point, they need to be regulated, otherwise consumer protections go out the window.
USB 2.0 speeds in 2024 is utterly unacceptable at every level. Apple is not "innovating" anything; they're clinging to the standard because they can extract licensing fees from manufacturers who want to make accessories for iPhones. That is literally it. That's also why Apple wanted to make a "special" USB-C cable for iPhones to allow them to transfer at modern speeds of USB 3.0. They needed to have a way to extract licensing fees for this.
The lightning cable is dumb and all about $. Make stuff that is compatible w/other tech. I'm happy w/my new iphone15 its the sole reason i upgraded, so i could throw away all extraneous crap. I have android phone too and an ipad, so wow i can use 1 cable finally
ahahahah, how dare they !
Well said.
Forcing all companies to be alike, will restrict innovation.
This is opposite of giving customers choice.
Airpods max will never be foldable, otherwise how will their customers show off their product, they want people to stick it on their head or around the neck when not in use. Free Promotion.

Virtual reality is always a nice theme. Once I envisioned an idea about using VR to hide down special locks to help you to encrypt things, like special keys hidden in plain sight but in the virtual world. If I am not mistaken, 3 or 4 months later they came with the whole blockchain thing. But I tell ya something: p0rN will be something that will be revolutionized by this thing. I guess there is a future after all. Some Star Wars fan mentioned somewhere about a mod to transform your wife on Princess Leia in real time during, well, the good part - sorry kids... I mean, how cool is that.

I was too focused on trying to spell vengeance
Fake news. It's clearly designed to be a fixed wire. Not a removable one. Removing it via the sim tool is for servicing, not for the user
That AVP plug is not intended to be user replaceable, hence not regulated. Also, if you think private entities are not to be regulated by governments, how do you expect a large society to operate?
Are you also against The Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act, which regulates contaminants to your food?
The people who complained that Lighting was old proprietary tech and Apple needed to upgrade the iPhone to universal standards were the same people who complained about USB-C on the Mac and insisted Apple downgrade back to old standards they happily used in their other devices.
Exactly. I am one. I liked the Lightning connection more than the USB-C, but it's not standard. So I'm grateful to the EU we finally have only one damn kind of connection to charge devices. And still convincend that besides the then new USB-C port on the Mac we needed (and need) *ALSO* the standard HDMI, SD card reader, LAN and USB-A - that *ARE NOT* obsolete tech but still in active production on most of the devices.
@@UTJK. people are amazing! They can look at the same argument and some would believe they were rational and logical arguments and to others, they’re blind hypocrisy and blatant double standards. Go figure.
@@sharonb.9128 I can't judge people and I don't think they should be blamed in general. It's known they are, for the most, irrational by nature, or lack the technical knowledge. But for sure there is a hypocrisy in this case, and it's by Apple that advertised the USB-C on the Mac as the definitive solution to everything, while in the same year decided not to update the connection on the phone. In both cases, although they could act rationally and technically savvy, they chose mere profit over customer (and environment) care. They preferred to sell to customers superflous adapters for the USB-C macbook, and getting royalties by third parties for the phone accessories.

2:50 very unreflected opinion you have there! If every company would do that, there wouldn't be a way to repair anything, because every device, machinery, car, you name it uses different screws, bolts, cabels, oils, fuels etc. It's called standardization and by the way the most influential development for the modern civilization and the backbone of our technological advancements. Why not bring it into the 21st century and standardise those kinds of devices as well? Maybe even Software?
government regulations sticking their nose in everything.... yuck. I don't think the law covers spatial computing devices though, or even battery packs?
2:43 100% agreed. It is a sad world we live in, where even the biggest companies have to bend the knee to the bullies.
"Companies bend to bullies" you do realise companies bully governments into way worse things, like how Privacy Laws were abused into taking more rights away from users than before, how they side step most tax codes, environmental codes, basically get cheap labour in sweatshops? Letting the EU get this win is Apples way of showing they have the upper hand anyway.
Also, big corporations would literally sell your firstborn child if no one would stop them so i really don't see why you would support them, they wont support you, you wont ever profit from them... just a loss loss everywhere
