Lovely to acknowledge the wonderfully talented, experienced and devoted craftspeople who generously gifted their time and energy to the Queen's pleasure. An opportunity to showcase the quality of their craft, it was (and still is) an honour to be selected.
This video is a treasure. I remember watching it on vhs from the library many years ago and have been hoping it would turn up on UA-cam for a long time . . . and here it is. Thank you very much! :o)
For anyone interested in more of the history of the house, I recommend reading My Memories of Six Reigns by Princess Marie Louise. Lot of interesting stories. For example, when George V asked her how it was possible to copy so exactly his official red boxes, she said that she asked his office for one and they just gave one to her. She borrowed a big linen tablecloth from Buckingham Palace and had a miniature version woven in Belfast. An interesting lady. At the end of the coronation in 1953, on her way out, she saw a glass of water and knocked it back. Turned out to be neat gin, which went straight to her head. During the procession back to Buckingham Palace she kept sliding off her carriage seat, nearly lost her tiara and, on arrival at the palace she practically fell out of the carriage.

Sadly, I do not! My uploads are usually thrift store finds, so everything is luck of the draw. I will keep an eye out for that, though!
