The PRR visits LaGrange, Illinois on July 7, 2024! Compliments of Amtrak!

It’s Sunday afternoon, July 7, 2024, at the Metra/Amtrak LaGrange Road station at LaGrange, Illinois.
Amtrak train 6, the California Zephyr, races by, headed from Emeryville, California to Chicago Union Station.
Happily, bringing up the rear is a private varnish car, the PRR (Pennsylvania Railroad) observation car “Frank Thomson!”
It was built for the PRR in 1949 by Pullman Standard, as a sleeper-lounge-observation car.
Keystone Pullman Rail Tours now owns the car and makes it available for charter trips.

Good catch ! Nice to know that in some ways the PRR still shows up at Union Station. Didn't Santa Fe El Capitan stop in Joliet Illinois?
