as a native Atlantan thank you for telling the real truth of our city. I'm very proud to say I'm from here because of what the history and culture of this city represents for black people and people of all races. I love my city peace up a-town down.
I LOVE THIS! I wasn't born in ATL but I've been here for over 30 years and my babies were born here. Very proud. Now I need GA to do the right thing on Nov. 8th! #Warnock #Abrams #Nguyen🥰
Heck yeah. Jen Jordan too for AG. I voted straight blue and I'm a white guy in Sandy Springs. Abrams should have won the first time and Walker is in the sunken place.
Love, Peace and respect to Trevor Noah and the Daily Show team for highlighting different aspects of Atlanta! Big up to Dulce' for her interview with OUR brother Bem Joiner, he's a DOPE representation of the "Old & New" Atlanta, he did a GREAT break down about Atlanta, WORD!!!🙏👊😎
What up Minister Server Tavares. I couldn’t have said it any better myself. Bem is solid. A true S.W. Atlanta, GA Warrior! Ain’t No Mo! Mitch’s GoodiePark
Thank you so much for having the show in Atlanta and featuring this! I wasn’t so aware of what it’s like there and I think that awareness is important. Hope the rest of the country can reach those heights sooner rather than later!
Right !
Atlanta Forever!!!
The best part about this segment is you can really feel Dulce's pride showcasing her hometown.
yeah she was sooo proud and wanted to rep her city, she loved talking to this dude
She was born in Miami Floriduh
Born and raised in the A, no place like it ✊🏾❤️✊🏾
Oh, and I built that roof top at Ponce City Market 😃
Maynard Jackson was a legendary mayor. I'm so grateful that my family moved to Atlanta when I was in the fourth grade from a small Georgia town. I instantly was in love from the moment driving through downtown looking at all of the tall buildings from the back seat of our family's car. I grew up in the suburbs filled with black professionals and very grateful for that childhood experience.I love my city of /\TL/\NT/\ ♡
As British Black person Atlanta intrigues me. Technically Britain has the most educated Black population in the western world being the only western country where black kids outperform white kids in schools, the highest percentage of degree holders of any black population in the western world and the highest average earning black population in all of Europe. In fact 2 of the 5 top performing schools in the entire UK for exam results are In two working class black neighbourhoods. But what we don’t have in Britain is Black Universities and I think it effects British black people in many ways. We don’t have collective black intellectualism that thinks about how to improve the entire black community in Britain. Black people in Britain don’t do anything independent of white people. And when you add that the British deliberately do not teach anything about colonial history meaning black people in the uk nearly all from former British colonies, learn zero black history real auto them and only learn African American history in British schools, in an attempt to make minorities less politically. Which has worked, because in the 1970s and 1980s when British racism was more overt so British blacks then were more politically and more like African Americans. But in the late 1990s racism in Britain became more subtle making this current generation not shown their history more like Brazilians than African Americans, where they are more subservient to white people, less political and not as confident and I think this is down to not having HBCU, that inform African Americans of their culture and history and breeds black intellectualism and networks of the educated black classes, all missing in the uk.
Being Mexican born a d raised in da south , I love it I truly love it!!! Stacy and dulces together powerful!!! Predicting it already!!! Puro fuego!!!
Chicago has this bad reputation but the city is 30/30/30 Black, White and Latino. Beside a few bad apples, this is a place through hard work you can achieve.

Atlanta is a great City. Each neighborhood has its own character. Is beautiful here. A great skyline. Perfect four seasons. Great restaurants. Plenty of things to do. Professional sports. Not too far from the ocean or the mountains with waterfalls. The world's busiest airport. Affluent blacks. Oh and the multicultural Factor it's another thing that drew me here.
Atlanta is one of my favorite American cities. I learned a lot from this
This segment for me is the best regarding black America and African American stories in general. I think Atlanta has a lot to teach other cities and states in America on how to treat each other as people regardless of race and what the black community should do is(education, education and more education folks).
I was very scared to go in that Kroger, lol. That is hilarious they brought that up
I'm a white guy from the middle of Kansas and I thank you for this. By the way, some of my long view comes from being nearly as old as both of you combined. There are still things that I learn and that I NEED to learn. Thank you for this.
I see you, i hear you, I appreciate you. Learning is lifelong. Wakanda Forevah!
Wish more people were like u.. thank u for being so accepting.. ❤️💙💜💛💚🤎🖤🤍
Beautiful comment 🥰
Why can't every place be a Wakanda?
Dulcé be glowing! 🌟
I'm born and raised in New Orleans and moved to Atlanta 9 years ago. Atlanta is a great City and I wish I would have moved here sooner. I had no clue Atlanta was so diverse before I got here. My first two new friends I made here was from Russia and Ethiopia. Those two women alone helped me grow and understand myself better
Love this!! Been in ATL a long time. I’m Latina, but I get real uncomfortable when I travel and see little to no black people. My city has many colors and it makes me happy.
*Curb your bigotry*
Yes! Atlanta! My brother lives in Atlanta and I have been there, and I love it!
As a white person from Atlanta I’ve always been proud of the diversity in my city
Ditto
Yep!! Lived here my entire life, 55 years, and it's only getting better
🥰🥰🥰 Atlanta!!
Now we just need to get rid of Kemp.
Me too!
I am loving the crowds pride right now I'm loving it. And I also just love Atlanta some of my favorite musicians are from here some of my favorite rappers as well. I know my uncle actually went to move to Atlanta some years ago. he's a barber and from what I know he's self employed. So I kind of have that deep love for Atlanta
Im a west coast kid who grew up with diversity (black, white, latino, asian, european) back in 70's. Never understood the appeal for so many black folks wanting to return to the "south" after our ppl spent do much time tryna escape. I even got accepted to Morehouse (finances prevented my attendance) but in the last 20yrs Ive learned to understand the Why. Atlanta doesn't have to be the only place, those with influence can do that elsewhere and attract a black migration. Props to the ATL
As a white person raised in Atlanta, when I moved to Austin, TX... it was creepy how few black people were around.
Born and raised...Sike!! Born in Cincinnati, but I've been here in the 'A' for fourteen years, so Atlanta's been my home! #PeaceUpATownDOWN #OneoftheBESTMovesIveEverMade
Atlanta is so special in its own way. As much as I loathe the daily gridlock on the streets, the culture here and the opportunities here are amazing. You will have to grind, but that’s also what I love. Those who make it, have put in the work, no matter where you’re from, what you look like etc. Just attend 1 Atlanta United Game and it’s a perfect mix of every culture of people cheering on the same team for the love of the city. ❤ Gotta love the A… minus the traffic LOL
I’m from South Africa, and I’m black of course😁 and I’m amazed by the level of challenges that my people still face in “The Greatest Country in the world” in 2023😟
I'm really enjoying these ATL pieces!
Loved every moment of this interview!!!!
👍👍
What a fantastic segment! I’m not from ATL (I’m in Augusta but visit a lot), I have always known the culture and vibe in ATL is just “different” but i’ve never heard it explained like this.
Such a fascinating breakdown of the how and why things function a bit better there than other similar cities.
As a white Atlantan, everything he said is 100% true, and it’s why I’m so happy in this city.
I miss it terribly. The city is beautiful, but even more than that, I love the mix of races and cultures. It always reassures me that if people want to get along with each other, we will.
@@cathyschneider2126 speak for yourself
I love this woman ❤
Me too.
I don’t know why I’m so proud of ATL, since I live out in Bumfart Trumplandia rural GA. BUT I AM PROUD! Grew up in College Park. Vote BLUE y’all ! Love you Stacey! Love ya Rev. Warnock! 💙💙💙💙💙💙
Born and a raised in Atlanta and currently living abroad for over a year and I’m really missing this city
I was studying abroad the year Yeah! by Usher came out, so I know the feeling. Lol
@@brynneholt1990 when you’re away, all the things back at home pop off, like I was gone when the Braves won World Series
I see Dulcé, I click Dulcé. im built simple...
This is so golden! The Portland comparison is 😂. I’m from ATL but PDX is home now. Every time I go back this white girl appreciates the Blackness.🙌
Cool but other cities don't face the feds sending troops! As Portland's only Black person I -- wait did I just prove the video 😬
I’m a DC girl, ATL is a lil too far south for me to live, but I love visiting there. It feels like home. I grew up in Chocolate city, so I got to see black EXCELLENCE on a whole other level. But when we went south for the summer I ONLY liked when we went to Atlanta! 😊
Awesome interview Dulce!!!!!
Now I think I have seen an American state I'll like to visit...
Atlanta it is... Thanks to Trev, the team and TDS for this piece
Dont bother with the rest of GA though. It's just as backwards as the outskirts of any southern town. Wont find no kindness there. Agusta and Savannah exist but they aure ain't Atlanta.
Do not confuse Georgia with Atlanta. Atlanta is wonderful. Georgia, not so much.
Atlanta is okay. I lived there and hated it. Went to Spelman College. Got robbed and harassed by men regularly. The “nice” places are right next to the garbage places and people from there are proud of the craziness. It’s definitely not for everyone, especially me.
I absolutely Love Dulcé Sloan!!!!!
This was beautiful in every way!
Sho is🥰🙌🏾. I’m coming back to Atlanta from Chicago to watch Wakanda Forever 🙅🏽♀️😆
Its rare to see dulce become serious. But this is one of it
👍👍👀👀
When I lived in Atlanta I loved it, the diversity in the black culture is awesome, like no place else I've been. Living in other cities it is so different!
As a native ATLIEN I approve this segment.
Wait a minute. You want a prize from being from Atlanta? I don't know if I didn't fill out my sweepstakes or what but I haven't heard anything about it.
@@OzyMandias13 It's a scam.
Kroger…. Know it well😂
This is why I LOVE living here!! It is a fair shot. Opportunities are everywhere. If you fail in this city, at least you know it isn’t because you’re Black!!
Trevor making grand exit from Daily Show. Going black and stand-up. How else? 😂😂👏👏
Yes! Love Atlanta. I moved from northeast to Atl and all my friends still ask me if I feel safe living in the South bc they assume it’s more racist and scary. But Atl is diff that even the rest of Ga and it’s way more diverse and accepting than the northeast.
Every time I hear Du Bois mentioned I think of Jon Batiste's song "Let's hear it for Du Bois / Let's give Du Bois a hand".
My cousin has an art gallery in the Edgewood area. Its definitely a black wealth place to go.
Raising awareness for "Defend the Atlanta Forest" which they want to destroy to build a cop city
I’m moving there in the month!
All of us native ATLiens are feeling so proud this week ❤
Speak for yourself
Please don't let these Atlanta segments cause yall to wanna move here! We're full!
Truly!! 😂
the opposite of Portland Oregon 😆
This is place sounding like my home country. Alright I dig Atlanta
ATL Shawty!!!!!
Just yes ! 🙏All things yes ! 🖤
I think it's all very fitting for what is demonstrably the greatest city in the south.
Dulcé needs to take over for Trevor. There, I said it 😤❤️
Nah, too drastic a change. I could see Hassan Minaj taking over, however.... He had proven his chops. Dulce could MAYBE so it too. Either way, I will be sad when Trevor isn't here anymore.
I hope Amber Ruffin fills the role 😊
(whisper): Atlanta forever! 🙅
As a white guy in Atlanta I love my city and it's culture. I'm just sad about the rest of the state being so regressive. They are certainly repressing the vote. Looking at you Kemp.
As a guy from Portland Oregon I can confirm that Dulce is right. We only have like 12 black people in the whole state
Atlanta feels like home
after watching this, I'm ready to move to Atlanta lol🤣🤣🤣🤣
Please dont!
@@pristineparr7509 I wont but I'm happy for black people thriving there
The A is awesome. We need to get a hold on crime and traffic.
Is it me or were they vibe’n 😏
I loved going to Atlanta.....

Great job!!
Very refreshing 😉
No one can argue with what he said. I haven't visited Atlanta.....yet......and even I know that 💯💯💯💯
I need to visit as well.
Trevor should take Dulce to Johannesburg.
I feel that Atlanta is that 1 city where if something happens to me I'd actually get justice.
I need to visit Atlanta! It sounds really cool!
A women was recently beat within an inch of her life by a random man, in Atlanta, and it didn’t even make local news. Atlanta may not be a safe place for the average black woman and we need to talk about that more.
Okay?
Is there anywhere in the US that is safe for women?
@@Killer-SeveN well, communities built for and maintained by women. Do you have a point or are you just a misogynist?
Dulce hair style makes her looks posh. I love this look
Atlanta is the ish
I didn't know now i know.
That’s what’s up! I love being my authentic Black self out here in Oakland Cal
Oakland is far from Wakanda...
Does one have to plan their days around traffic in Wakanda?
No, they have vibranium. We have kudzu.
I used to travel back and forth from Orlando to Atlanta consistently, and I must say ATL is the blackest city in America 💪🏾 and I love it. BLACK HOLLYWOOD.
I wish the rest of Georgia was more like Atlanta. It's a beautiful state but it needs to put sensible adults in charge.
Atlanta knows dubs; so they in the right place.
Wak-lanta Forevaaahhhh
@Bemjoiner the real Mayor of ATL 💯
Much respect to Bem!
Ok Portland didn't need that callout so early in the video 😹 We've had a lot to deal with and doing what we can!! (Okay Roseburg maybe... 🤔)
They called out Portland because of the small blk percentage... but it wudda made more sense if they picked a city based off racism like Boston, Oklahoma City, etc. or lack of equity like San Francisco.
@@seanbrown7881 Fair, fair *nods*

Looking for this comment to see if anyone else noticed. 👀 I believe she did 😀
I live this video, and for the first time I love the positivity in UA-cam Comments! ❤💙💜🖤💛💚🧡🤍🤎
Wow, I never knew. Now I do.
Philly loves ATL
Wakanda , a town in Iowa and 1 of the Dakota's I googled it a year ago .
Dulce, how you and Trevor IN the A and yall ain't said nothing about Takeoff?
Dulce is gorgeous 🥰🥰
I feel like I need to move to ATL now
Baltimore could really learn from the A.
Dulce😍😍😍😍😍
I didn’t see my first white doctor until I was 11 years old. I thought all doctors were black men because that’s all I saw growing up.
I also went to Woodward academy. He told no lies.
wow Dulce is from Atlanta? from the vibes I get from her, it feels like shes confident cuz she can be...maybe thats the free theyre discussing in the vid. Most people have to be confident bc its the empowering thing to do. And that is bc everyone knows its against the norm and we have to be the ones that has to break boundaries n create new norm. Its this constant push-push struggle where even a single step back is seen as ultimate weakness
🖤🖤🖤
Nice interview 👀👀👍👍
