We're building infrastructure to accomodate future growth such as barns, duck house, 7 coop chicken house, water hydrants, planting an orchard, building a garden etc. Chickens, ducks, geese, mini pigs, rabbits, a bunch of barn cats and two old english sheepdogs make up our team here at the farm. Yes I gotta just have patience, she has good days and bad but she guards the cat cave when everyone is working.

I don't know which animals are the most fun to watch, but, the cats are always entertaining.
I know right, as I’m going about my day, I always see them doing something and quickly whip out my phone to record those stolen shots.

I think it's great that you give Bubbles time and don't force her out. Cats have different characters and personalities, just like us. Have you considered taking her into the house? Or is that not an option, maybe a more 1-on-1 approach will do her good.
@@Ellllaaa I did have Bubbles in the house for a while and it didn’t work out very well, even with three litter boxes she was relieving herself everywhere like on the furniture, under the sofa etc. and she just hid the whole time, crying. She didn’t like being alone at all and I spent hours just sitting there very patiently. Once I brought her back with the crew she was better. I think I’ll just continue to do what I’m doing, there are days where she lets me pet her but most days she keeps her distance. And I’m sure if I let her out I’ll have a really difficult time getting her back in. She greets all the other cats when them come back in so I know she happy being there and she has lots of activities and hiding places so I’m ok with her staying in for now.
@@HiddenSpringFarm Sounds like a good plan, you know her and her world best. And who knows maybe she will come around, I'm just happy you are totally ok with her being there even though she isn't "working", she doesn't seem to be unhappy.

It’s very interesting to me how Tango & Maggie behave so differently when they’re out compared to when they’re in. You can see they all come to me for greetings and pets first thing but during the day I can hardly ever pet Maggie & Tango. Bubbles and Mango are the worst too, very hard to even sneak in a pet. Dexter & Fozzy are always available for pets.

My dad added a bubbler and a UV system to kill the algae in his qui pond. You can also use hay to filter the water coming through the water fall.

Don't worry about the pond. A lot of it comes from trees. The ducks take their bath and get out. All the animals are adorable and brings joy to our life. ❤😊

😂its quite the routine for sure...were at 50+ at the moment...with khaki cambels in the incubator. Its always great to see how you havr streamlined the process so i can work smarter too! Thank you my friend!
Truth is if I’m filming it takes me about 4 hours but if I’m just quickly doing feedings I have it down to about 30 mins. So fairly efficient, building the setup is what takes a long time.

I just discovered your channel and I am so impressed with your love and care for your animals. I am a cat lady and love the catio and cat cave you built for your cats. If we have questions how do we ask and get answers?
You and your Darling are amazing people. It is great satisfying to watch your progress. I was raised on a farm/ranch and I know the love and the heartaches that comes with it. Well if you go to the channel page you’ll see headings like Home, Videos, Shorts, Posts etc, you can go into videos and they’ll have newest, popular and oldest and is you click oldest you’ll see my very first video and the rest in chronological order. But I must warn you, the earlier videos are a lot different than today’s videos as I’ve learned how to better film, edit and develop my on camera comfortability. But you will get a complete idea of where the farm started and every single improvement we’ve done over the last few years. I do try to reply to as many comments as I can but just understand that it becomes a full time job cause there are so many. Usually I’ll know if a comment is left but occasionally there are glitches and I miss some. We’ve cats in the early days and have developed a system with them and they’ll show up in most of the videos 😁

Re the duck pond : I can highly recommend a YT channel called Oz Ponds if you are interested in keeping the pond (potentially) clearer using a homemade wetland bog style filter. I believe the big filter would need to be sized at 30% or so of the volume of the actual pond for keeping ducks, and Oz Ponds info may not account fully for the freeze and thaw cycles if a Canadian winter, but his channel is very down to earth and accessible for amateur pond keepers who want low cost and low maintenance ponds with clear water. 😊 cheers from Australia 😊

Aww thanks so much all the way from Denmark eh. The funny thing with Bubbles is that I think she might be the cat cave guard or at least a kind oh homebody kitty. I see it everyday, when all the other cats come back from their day on the farm Bubbles greets every single one of them. Sometimes it's a face to face sniff, other times it's a butt sniff but either way I feel like she's happy to see them.

it would probably be the best for bubbles to stay indoors, she would be too much at risk and prob would be way to hard to get back inside! I had a cat just like her. trust its deff better for her to stay in doors

I was happy Chunk came over to eat the churu snack so Bubbles can see him licking it up then I stuck the thing inside and she got a lick too. If I put it in a bowl she'll eat it all for sure but because it was from my hand she's shy.

About the pig pens having floor concrete and a septic like so when it's time to wash pens the dirty water goes straight into the sepitc ..

I also have a kitty that acts like Bubbles and you just need to "go with the flo" with them. Bubbles seems to be very much loving her life at the moment and is very content and seems to enjoy the life of luxury that you have for all of them. She's got lots of friends with the other cats. Thanks for keeping her safe and giving her a life that she wouldn't have if she were not there. 😻

Have you considered adding some copper wire or tubing to the pond so the algae doesn't bloom? 😊
Why does Copper just prevent algae from touching the water? Does it need some kind of system?

It works by breaking down the cell walls of algae, making them more vulnerable to external factors.
Copper ions attach to algae protein structures, ultimately causing cell membrane damage, leading to algae cell death. It’s worth noting that copper is also effective against bacteria and fungus.

Looks like a pretty day on the farm! After 2 years the egg production slows down, so will you be hatching out more assorted chickens next year? Is there a market in your area for chick's? I know roosters, but if you have a place to put them away from the hens they can live together till time to go off to freezer camp. 😊
@@lararabb8888 the hens are ok for now, we have more eggs than we can sell or eat especially during summer. I have one guy that buys 12 dozen eggs per month, if I had the be more customer it would be good. I did try to sell chicks and ducklings before but just stopped cause the money was not worth my time & effort on such a small scale. I’ll try again in the future though, I just don’t want more chicks right now and if they don’t sell I’ll have to keep them. As the hens age I’ll hatch more for sure.

Chad, Bubbles' issues aren't about you. She has wild instincts. I had a cat like that. We both finally discovered that she liked to have her belly rubbed - I'd never had a cat who liked that before - but out of nowhere she would spook and claw the ever-living daylights out of me while she was making her getaway from some perceived danger. There was no point in getting mad at her for clawing me, or wondering what I'd done wrong, or trying to change her instincts. I just always put a doubled up towel on my lap before letting her get close and kept my hands and arms out of her way while she was leaving. Ruined a few towels, but that was no biggie compared to being able to find a way to let her have a few minutes of safety and contentment. I think loving anyone is about meeting them where they are and seeing if there's a way to make it work. The alternative in the case of that cat (who has been gone for over a decade now) would have been to put her down. Instead, we had many good years together that we might have both otherwise missed. I'm not saying to give up on Bubbles; I'm just saying you might want to prepare yourself for a cat who, if she ever comes to you at all, may not come to you until well after her mousing years are over.
make sure the washing instructions say "wash inside out" so that the patch last longer. Love your shirts. looking at the geese's cheeks are so darn cute.

We did have a Senegal parrot named Pooper, he died a few years ago at 17. He used so say “Hey Remy” really loud & screechy 😂

And Bubbles is one of those weird cats that just wants to be left alone… i had one like her once… when i gave up trying to for him to "love me," and just left him alone, 5 years later he became a love bug… so, just continue doing what you’re doing Chad… Bubbles is her own cat… she's happy and healthy… that’s all that matters! :)

@@HiddenSpringFarm I just let Mikey be Mikey… I didn’t force him… he was a lot like bubbles is now but he lived in the house… it was weird… one day he just jumped into my lap and that was it… it was like a switch went on in his head that said, "hey toopid, you should try the pets… you'll like it!" And he did! 16 years later, I laid him To rest out under our big map,e tree on the family farm… so, I just say let Bubbles be bubbles and one day the switch will flip and you might have a completely different kitty on your hands!

I know nothing about rabbits, but maybe that black hole is seen as a dangerous entry point for predators from his perspective, and therefore it must be blocked
