I dont know about Ron's family restaurant but I've always heard the reason restaurants serve parsley on the plates is because it's a natural breath cleanser. You chew it after your meal for fresh breath! It's usually curly parsley not flat leaf.
I often eat the parsley "garnish." I was afraid Ron was going to say restaurants spray some chemical on it to make it pretty and that is why you shouldn''t eat it.
I vote for Ron’s egg but think a good idea would be for the two of you to switch places Ron to do the cooking of the receipt and to serve Justine for a change!!
I love parsley and tabbouleh! I live in Australia and we have a big Middle Eastern and Mediterranean culture here where these foods are very well distributed all over our country. I love parsley in dishes, and coriander! 😊
The “John Adams” series is incredible. The cast was amazing and they really captured the character of Adams. I’m a proud descendant of John Adams, and I was absolutely fascinated by his story. I’m obsessed with Revolutionary and Civil War history. Someday I hope I can get to your neck of the woods and visit St. Gen!
I would have to vote for Ron’s egg decoration…and I think he should “win” the opportunity to film himself silently cooking a receipt on Early American in Justine’s place!
Love when Mish Mish is included in the intro . Such a handsome fellow . I’ve had the tubule (sp) . Being Jewish we eat a lot of that and middle eastern food . Parsley is on our Seder plate during Passover. I like the taste , especially when dipped in salt water during Seder .
I use to eat the parsley garnish when I was a kid! Hey if it's on the plate you should be able to eat it!😊 Love the slo mo of Humpty Herald having a great fall! You two are fun to watch!
I just love ya'll and Justine your sense of humor is so much like mine, you crack me up. Ron I love your knowledge and talks with this weeknin history. Please keep doing ya'lls thing, llsee you next week❤
The other day I watched Townsends Easter Live episode, and was so happy to see they read a message from you guys. What a pleasant surprise! Since I started watching your channel I have been thinking that I would love to see you as guests at Townsends channel or vice versa.
The pie looks delicious. Thank you Ron for the history facts. I have no idea that General Electric was founded in 1892. Love your egg paintings the American flag and “Herald”. I can’t decide. I like both.
The Parsley Chicken pie sounds very tasty! I make a tuna dip for special occasion that has a lot of parsley and the whole family enjoys it. However, I’m one of those people who thinks cilantro tastes terrible! Enjoy your videos so much and look forward to them each week.
@@jackieblue787-Tuna Dip 2 cans tuna drained 1 cup parsley chopped 1/4 cup finely chopped onion 1/2 tsp hot sauce 1-8 oz cream cheese (softened to room temp) I use a mixer to just mix all the ingredients. Best after sitting in the fridge overnight. We like it with crackers.
Great video! My mother had a very special Easter egg her father gave her as a girl with a beautiful face painted on it, some embroidery thread braids hanging out of a sweet little Easter bonnet. Someone had put pin holes in the bottom and top and had blown the insides out! Mother kept it in a small cotton lined box. It was one of her prized possessions. I believe my sister still has it. It’s almost a hundred years old! There’s you a project for next Easter! You two are delightful. Thank you.
Beautiful prayer. I absolutely eat that pie, I wouldn't take the time to make it unless I added alot of other veggies. Love cilantro and nutmeg, but I'm guessing Ron knows from childhood about soap flavor 😉 it was, the soap!
Before you ever started painting, I was thinking that if I was doing it, I would paint the top half of my egg blue for sky, and the bottom half green for grass, and a line around the middle of white daisies with yellow centers, for Spring. But you both did an awesome job with yours. I think though, that I’m going to have to pick Ron’s egg as the winner between you. I’m sorry Justine. You still did a great job.😁 I couldn’t help but notice, and thought it very funny, that nobody spelled that “tabouli”word the same way! 🤣🤣🤣 It makes me wonder how it is actually spelled. Lol! Anyway, I love you guys! Y’all are so funny together. GOD’S blessings to you.
I would probably substitute spinach for parsley, parsley is pretty strong. I can eat a bit but not that much. Always a fun time with you both on your chew and chat.
Love Hurled Justine! Sorry Ron yours is nice too! We had an 80 degree day here in Northern Michigan on 4-12-23 had to set some kind of record for April. Almost all our snow is melted now but Higgins Lake near us still has ice on it!!
I love your videos on both channels. I live 10 miles away from the 1832 Battle of Kellogg's Grove during the Blackhawk War in northwest Illinois and about an hour east of Galena, IL, home of US President Grant. We also have Apple River Fort historic site, near us that has several reenactment programs a year. So fun! I'm also just north of Freeport, the site of the second Lincoln-Douglas Debate of 1858. A region steeped in so much history! I learn so much from both of you, and it's awesome seeing people close to my own age so excited about American history and patriotism. Keep up the fantastic work Ron and Justine (and Mish Mish and Albert and the chickens)
I have the gene that makes cilantro taste like soap! It is really true! I would love a video about both your backgrounds! That would be very interesting during a chew and chat!
Justine- just put a mask over the eyes and you got a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, lol! I like both of the eggs so it's a tie. I wanna see you two do a chicken dance! 😅
2:06 I live tabouli. I used to mix it with scrambled eggs, stuff it into pita bread, and toast the whole thing in a pan the morning after we go to the middle eastern market. I got the recipe from a woman at my gym when she recommended going the middle eastern market in my city.
All this time we’ve been watching I’ve realized, most of the time we’re watching we’re also eating dinner 😂 so think of all the guests y’all have for dinner each week without even knowing it!
Justine, I'm with you! Parsley is awesome! It even aids in digestion! My dad and I always ate the garnish and got the "hairy eyeball" for doing it!🤣🤣🤣 Who cares!!! It's a green and it's good for you. We always grew it in our garden and we grew up eating all kinds of weeds that people turn up their noses at. All of which are beneficial to your health. Love the video!💜
Thank you both so much for sharing your thoughts on this meal! And thank you both for saying grace! Just want you to know how much I appreciate that! ❤ much love!
Enjoyed the egg decorating more than any comedy ,I laughed so hard at Justines awesome egg decorating skills . I really love both channels so very much . I am learning so much from the cooking and history segments . Thank you both .
I dont know about Ron's family restaurant but I've always heard the reason restaurants serve parsley on the plates is because it's a natural breath cleanser. You chew it after your meal for fresh breath! It's usually curly parsley not flat leaf.
Yes, I've heard this all my life as well, parsley is a breath cleanser/freshener, so you eat it after the meal.
You're absolutely correct
I often eat the parsley "garnish." I was afraid Ron was going to say restaurants spray some chemical on it to make it pretty and that is why you shouldn''t eat it.
Same! Garnishes should always be edible, anyways!
My sister used to eat everybodys. Lol. We were just raised it was a garnish.
You guys are adorable together and a pleasure to watch. 😄
Justine, have you ever thought about writing a cookbook putting the receipts you use but put in today's cooking terms and ingredients.
That’s a great idea!
Omg yass please do this!!
Middle Eastern princess and a country boy....AMERICA!!!!
Happy Easter Ron, Justine, Alfred & of course MishMish! 🪺🐣✝️
Awwww such a beautiful way to start....little Mish Mish just chilling and enjoying his day!
I look forward to these videos every Wednesday ❤
Hi Rosemarie, thankyou for joining us each week!
I think diuretic is the word you were thinking of.
But great episode and you two are so great together! Thank you.😊
This is the sweetest channel! Thank you both for a refreshing look at the cooking in the 1800’s!
"You're perfect at being you." You two are so much fun. I'm thoroughly enjoying this - a year later...
I vote for the flag, but I absolutely loved how much fun you and Ron had with Harold ❤

Amen! Thank you Jesus!
The pie looks delicious. Thank you Ron for the history facts. I have no idea that General Electric was founded in 1892.

Tuna dip? I make a shrimp dip with horseradish. Tuna receipt pls ?
About cilantro: I second that motion.

Y'ALL'S PRESENTATION WAS EGG-CELLANT!!
Loved the video. Parsley pie looks delicious & I voted on the community post.
God bless y'all!
What a great pie and such wonderful eggs too. Not enough people paint eggs at Easter anymore. Being with you both is the perfect place to be
Yum, I went to our taco place in this small town. Begged for corn tortilla shells om the bottom of the chicken salad. I love your parsley pie idea
My Mother and I always ate the parsley served on the plate, much to the chagrin of my father. This dish looks delicous!
I can't get enough of these two and their cat ❤...love the cabin home too
Y'all are too cute! I love spending time on your channel in your cabin. Poor Herld. 😆💜
Love you guys!
You two are ADORABLE 🥰
Missed the live but enjoyed every second. Be blessed this week, Justine and Ron! xoxo
Love you guys! Happy Easter! Have you ever done a period over night at the cabin and, how would you rate the experience?

Yay!!!! You gave God thanks for Jesus on Easter! That is amazing, you do not see that on the internet anymore. God bless you two 💖
I laughed out loud at the editing of the egg drop. Hilarious.
Love your dress today! Great spring color and style❤
Not only did I like the food I also enjoyed that you said grace. HAPPY EASTER!!😇💯🙏
It's hard to decide, I think both eggs came out nicely.

I love the way he makes you laugh. Warms my heart! We need more of this in the world. 🫶🏼
Looks amazing!
I would probably use flat leaf parsley instead of curly leaf parsley. Also, cilantro use to taste like soap to me, but now it doesn’t. 🤷🏼♀️
Hope your Easter was great! Chicken pie looks amazing...
Even Westerner’s like your show.. Hello from Idaho 🥔
Justine - you have such a joyous and beautiful laugh ❤
Diuretic….that’s the word you’re looking for. Like cranberries & lemon.
I’m a retired Speech Pathologist, words were my business.😂
In a restaurant I always eat the parsley at the end of my meal.
It looks a little more watery than I might prefer, but I can think of the flavor as being good.
I think I would like a little more gravy like consistency. Just longer cooking of the sauce I think or a little more flour with the butter.
Can’t wait! My husband loves chicken pot pie, me not so much lol

Love tabouleh! 🎉
When you got the green on it I would have just painted a scenery! The green would have been grass…good job guys! 😁
Loved the Red white and blue ❤ 💙 Ron. You win. Love you guys.

Hi guys lots of love from Australia great couple Justine amazing cook❤
I ❤your yellow bow Justine!🥰
I will make this this summer early in morning before it gets too hot or cook outside
As someone who grew up in the northeast i love parsley.
I tried to make a ground beef pie using Pillsbury pie crust. It is too rich/sweet. Maybe next time I will do my own pie crust.
