Neat little detail about this part of the game: because of how the map is laid out, Bowser can never make it Dimble Wood and try to find the 1st Star Cure. Hell, the Bros can get there before him if you do some exploring. As a result, from the moment you do the Monty Drill til you get the Body Slam, you are restricted only to Blubble Lake and thus locked out from the rest of the world as Bowser, which is a while. On the bright side, we get to go back to Bowser Castle for a star Cure, and this 2nd visit will be just as great as the first!
yeah because you need to hit that switch to connect Blubble Lake to Bumpsy Plains, it begs the question how Bowser got to Peach’s Castle at the start of the game
I guess that explains from a gameplay perspective why Toad Town lacks a Chakroad. As for a lore explanation, maybe towns are too psychically busy for someone to travel... WITH THEIR MIIIINDS?

So funny story with Dizzy Boots, they are busted for normal fights and jumping on the enemies has about 30% chance to cause dizzy status. Stacks well with any Jump based Special Attacks as well.

I didn't see the part in between where the tongue rose up and when they escaped until a few years later. Also didn't realize 'till even later still that he reveal was that the whale intentionally ate them to help them get to Sidney (presumably one of the animals who heard Marlin's story spread around the sea) and that Dory actually COULD speak and understand whale.

So something about the 99 block: I don't remember if it was in the original or if it was added in the remake, but if you complete it, you're given the option to say no to the reward. Doing so allows you to simply talk to the globin again to double your coins at a future point without having to do the 99 block again
The thing with starlow at the beginning is that if Bowser is doing something like being on the boo x ray she won't let you leave but if you take Bowser off the thing he is doing you can go back out.
She also doesn't let you leave if there's an area reacting inside Bowser. Joint Tower was reacting, so even if Bowser had stepped off the Boo-Ray machine, Starlow would've stopped the bros. So we actually had two seperate things that would cause her to interfere.

One thing you didn’t showcase is that if you swap to Mario and Luigi after entering the toad town area with Bowser, there’s an “Inside Boswer” remix for the toad town theme. It’s not something you’ll come across normally cause of how niche it is, but it’s neat they thought to make a mix for it anyways.
Happy Thanksgiving Chugga and to everyone watching/reading this! These videos have been something I've been thankful for more then ever this year. This is a rough year for me so being able to take my mind off of things and have good hearty laughs again has felt more great then ever for me.
Typically body slams involve picking your opponent up and slamming them on their backs. Bowser is basically doing flying presses or frog splashes, but I’ll let him call it a body slam with how hard he slams into the ground with his body. So cool…
It’s incredible how much effort they put into this game. I also really love how Bowser plays both inside and outside of battle. And not just that but his characterization and dialogue is beyond excellence yet hilarious, not to mention that body slam mechanic is just so badass, especially the way its animated is so fun and one of my personal favorites. I heard Emile had some steaks for Thanksgiving. I had those before and they are quite delicious. Quite crazy to believe that 2024 is almost finished and I really want Bowser to have his own game/series one day. [Happy Thanksgiving to those who celebrate it.] He’s so badass!!! 🔥💕
I also had a story of a quack dentist who chopped off half of my tooth trying to fill in a pesky cavity, so half of my tooth was just filling until it dissolved away. Needless to say, never went there ever again.
26:56 It’s hardly signposted, but using the launch board to break those rock walls is the ultimate unlock point for the bros to explore everything. Once you smash through that single barrier, the whole world is your oyster. Cavi Cape, Dimble Wood, Bowser Castle - you name it, you can go there. There’s a much clearer point when you’re meant to do this later on, but if you’re really crazy for beans, you can go out and grab them. The big enemies will still be scaled for however strong Bowser was when he went there, but the fodder enemies are all strong enough to be quite the handful for the bros. In fact, there are some areas you’re never directly told to go to as the bros, but there’s still beans scattered around the place to reward you for your exploration. It’s the most open this game gets, and if you’re looking to replay this game because of this playthrough, I highly recommend going for a little walkabout.

If I remember correctly, you can actually do the 99 block as soon as possible since the reward isn't given to you immediately. You can double your coins whenever you want after beating it, but only once.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I just started playing an indie RPG that has battle system A LOT like M&L: It’s called LunarLux, and I very much recommend it. The battle system allows for dodging and blocking. If there is counterattacks, I don’t know yet as I’m only four hours in. You apply random effects to every attacks too.
Something that I like to do in Toad Square is to jump as Mario, then as Luigi, then as Mario, and just repeat the process while going through the area. I have no idea why I did that, but it’s just something that felt… comforting?

The moment Emile mentioned his quack dentist, I remembered the incident that made me scared of needles for years. I was a young child going to the dentist and the dentist had to numb me with needles. He accidently drove the needle in too deep and caused some (thankfully temporary) issues. Until only a few years ago, I was petrified of needles. Now, I'm more annoyed when I have to get one because the shoulder I get the needle in is sore for the rest of the day, except with the blood sample needles which doesn't have that effect.

Best tip I figured out for super bouncer is to simply tap the opposite direction of whichever way the ball is moving to halt it's momentum, as long as Luigi is near the top of the ball then your fine.

One thing you didn’t showcase is that if you swap to Mario and Luigi after entering the toad town area with Bowser, there’s an “Inside Boswer” remix for the toad town theme. It’s not something you’ll come across normally cause of how niche it is, but it’s neat they thought to make a mix for it anyways.

Just discovered in my own playthrough, you are allowed to leave Bowser's body when Starlow yells at you. You just have to step away from the Boo Ray
Every time Mario and Luigi cause some alterations in Bowser’s body, it’s looks so painful.
Considering it also makes him stronger you can’t say the bros don’t deserve what’s coming later.
Typically body slams involve picking your opponent up and slamming them on their backs. Bowser is basically doing flying presses or frog splashes, but I’ll let him call it a body slam with how hard he slams into the ground with his body. So cool…
But does it have a chance to paralyze the opponent foe?
It's called "shell press" in the translation I've played, so I guess that's a bit more accurate to Bowser.

Oh boy, we’re coming up to Bowser’s Castle again for the next Star Cure. And that means THAT Giant Battle is coming up next.

I love how Bowser plays in this game both in and outside of battle. Everything he does is so cool.
It’s incredible how much effort they put into this game. I also really love how Bowser plays both inside and outside of battle.
And not just that but his characterization and dialogue is beyond excellence yet hilarious, not to mention that body slam mechanic is just so badass, especially the way its animated is so fun and one of my personal favorites.

26:56 It’s hardly signposted, but using the launch board to break those rock walls is the ultimate unlock point for the bros to explore everything. Once you smash through that single barrier, the whole world is your oyster. Cavi Cape, Dimble Wood, Bowser Castle - you name it, you can go there. There’s a much clearer point when you’re meant to do this later on, but if you’re really crazy for beans, you can go out and grab them. The big enemies will still be scaled for however strong Bowser was when he went there, but the fodder enemies are all strong enough to be quite the handful for the bros. In fact, there are some areas you’re never directly told to go to as the bros, but there’s still beans scattered around the place to reward you for your exploration. It’s the most open this game gets, and if you’re looking to replay this game because of this playthrough, I highly recommend going for a little walkabout.
The fact that Bowser of all people remembers the name of his minions is really heartwarming.

If I remember correctly, you can actually do the 99 block as soon as possible since the reward isn't given to you immediately. You can double your coins whenever you want after beating it, but only once.

Just wanted to chime in and say that I just started playing an indie RPG that has battle system A LOT like M&L: It’s called LunarLux, and I very much recommend it.
The battle system allows for dodging and blocking. If there is counterattacks, I don’t know yet as I’m only four hours in. You apply random effects to every attacks too.

The moment Emile mentioned his quack dentist, I remembered the incident that made me scared of needles for years.
I was a young child going to the dentist and the dentist had to numb me with needles.
He accidently drove the needle in too deep and caused some (thankfully temporary) issues.
Until only a few years ago, I was petrified of needles. Now, I'm more annoyed when I have to get one because the shoulder I get the needle in is sore for the rest of the day, except with the blood sample needles which doesn't have that effect.

Best tip I figured out for super bouncer is to simply tap the opposite direction of whichever way the ball is moving to halt it's momentum, as long as Luigi is near the top of the ball then your fine.
