My former husband's parents lived in Brookfield, a tight, well healed, semi rural suburb in western Brisbane. The evening after she was reported missing, I drove my son to his grandparents house (where his father was again living), and on approach there were numerous police cars all along the road by the local stores and showground, we then drove beyond there and up above we noticed luminous green lights overhead and wondered what they were. When we arrived, Rod said the police had been door knocking every property in the area all day and that they were searchlights scanning the region. Although we were by then divorced many years, we still met up at the local bar and he of course knew the locals. I personally had never met Allison though the local hairdresser had given Allison a haircut the evening before as she and her husband had an important meeting at their office workplace the next day. Allison was murdered that Thursday night after the children had gone to sleep. From the very beginning, his behaviour, the obvious scratches on his face and his odd demeanour stood out. His mistress was the catalyst, pushing him to end the marriage once and for all and chose her. This vile woman also worked in the same workplace. She got off but should have been charged as an accessory to this horrible murder which tore the community apart and left these beautiful children without their loving mother. A horrible, senseless, selfish and cruel murder by an absolutely monstrous narcissist. Rest in peace Allison.

I went to school with Allison. She was a year above me at IGGS. She was a lovely person and I was so terribly shocked that this happened to her. It felt surreal at the time. She was extremely clever and a high achiever and was always too good for the narc husband. Just like her friends said in the 60 minutes interview. They knew from the first he was no good.

Sounds exactly like the Chris Watts case…it’s eerie how many similarities there are between the two.
      1. Shanaan wanted her marriage to work desperately, just as this woman did…
      2. Chris Watts also had a mistress who appeared to be the catalyst that drove a wedge between their marriage, I believe her name was Nicole…
      3. Chris Watts also worked with his mistress, and many people felt she should have Been charged having “inadvertently”, contributed to the demise of the Chris kids and wife.
      4. Chris also promised his mistress he would leave his wife…
      5. Chris was also in debt or financially bad off…

I was looking at buying a house in Brookfield and he showed us a few houses. He was a self-absorbed creep, with delusions of grandeur- mentioning ties with scouts, who he knew, how great his business was and stating he owned several investment properties in the area. . We went back to his office in Kenmore, he joked with my husband that his life was busy juggling women. We knew he was broke, he was asking my husband where to buy cheap printer cartridges and he hated paying for the printer as it was on an agreement. Anyone who was listening could see that there was a narcissist who would stop at nothing, he thought he was the cleverest person in the room. I felt so uncomfortable around him, that we decided not to see any more properties with him.

As a Narcissist myself, I have to really monitor my reactions to slights and other negative behavior from others. Narcissists do suffer from the perceived slights. I have worked very hard to reflect on my reactions and emotions. This lady was brainwashed by her abusive husband. The control creeps up on you and before you know it, the victim is bound as if wire was tightly wrapped around you. I doubt that this lady was not aware of her husband's poisonous personality. The police who find the victims alive tell you: RUN! The victims has it very hard, you have to plan youir escape carefully, tell your family what you are facing and the potential danger you are facing. Wonderful that the canoist noticed Allison and that the foliage helped put the rancid dimwit in jail. Sadly not for long. Thank you to everyone who shared their hearts and minds on this video. What people should understand is that when your partner is being unfaithful to you, it's not because you have done something wrong to deserve that. It's just that they are like that, looking for the next exciting thing- like Peter Pan. They are usually irresponsible individuals ( still kids inside) who also suffer from trauma they do not want to address. Marriage doesn't change them nor having kids, that actually makes everything much worse.

As in every case like this one, one must place partial blame on the "other woman." She had no regard for Allison nor her three daughters nor the other people who loved her. She is despicable and an accessory to what happened.

I have in my life been blind where men are concerned, but I don't think there could be a more obvious archetype of the creepy, shallow and delusional malignant narcissist, than him. Yes, good for her that she at least left those scratches in one last effort to fight back and mark him as her murderer. I read that in his first few years in jail, he was studying all these books on law to find out how he could appeal his case. Arrogantly delusional and unremorseful to the end. May he rot there and never be released.

My condolences to family and friends. Allison sounds so wonderful hearing her story from her family, and friends; a loving wife and mother to her children so sad she didn't deserve to hv a life taken away from her. Rest in peace.
That husband is a horrible human; to take the life of his wife: whom he promise to God to take care of, to love, and cherish giving birth to ur three beautiful daughters.
    He deserve the death penalty.
My view...The husband very selfish, and selfishly took away his children mother; didn't for one minute think of those children; only about himself. He live for the flesh and now reap destruction.

It drives me crazy, so I can relate to your important comment, life is a mess as a married woman spouse, ure never good enough for "THEM"

To think this moron of man would prefer that not at all attractive woman, to the gorgeous, very intelligent & classy woman ,the mother of his children, is astounding. He wanted the insurance so he could bed hop and not be in debt. If he had ended up with the other woman ( and not caught)and became bored after a short time , he would have done the same again. Can’t understand what Allison saw in that creepy monster, she could have anyone with her looks, personality and sweetness, also a wonderful mother😢RIP Dear Allison and well done scratching the murderer and leaving evidence❤️
