The Octane and Dominus are two of the most popular cars in Rocket League, as over 70% of you guys use either one of them. So I had them 1v1 at EVERY RANK in Rocket League to see which of the Octane and Dominus is better and will win! Obviously, it comes down to personal preference as to whether the octane or dominus is better in Rocket League, this video is a bit of fun.
Be sure to watch until the end to see which car will win the 6 game series, as well as myself (Helical) playing the grand champ game for the octane team.

To everyone saying that these players are smurfs/trash for their rank. They are not. They provided me with the rocket league tracker for their account and many I know personally from discord. They are the same rank so please do not hate on them, it is disrespectful, sometimes you just have an off day/game and vice versa :))

The freestyler is better than the d3. He is only in d3 because he doesn’t try, but that doesn’t change the fact that he has the mechanics of a gc.
Nah id say gc is more mechical. Hes been practicing fancy mechanics while reals gc's have more practical mechanics recoveries, faster and more accurate power shots etc. But hes definitely put more hours in then his peers for sure.
sure he has the mechanics of a gc but he also has no game sense and hes so inconsistent. he is diamond 3 and its for a good reason
He is in diamond because his game sense is a bit off. In the end he sucks at roclet league as all thr over diamonds. You can hit a tripple flip reset into musty backboard pancake but that doesnt mean that you are autonatically in GC or something

@@owenfarnell3439 as a gc he does not have gc mechanics but somewhere between champ mechanics , he is very inconsistent tho so that’s why he is diamond.he has horrible challenging as well but definitely better than your avg diamond

Im so surprised how the mechanical skills of lower ranks improved over time🤯 I’m playing since 2015 and back then it wasn’t like that at all!

I think Dominus and Octane are equally good in their own ways. I like the Octane hitbox for dribbling and stuff, but I like the Dominus for the kind of boxy front which makes air dribbling a little easier for me... the engine also just sounds better. I actually recently started using Fennec because it combines those two things, Octane hitbox and Dominus bumper.

Hey helical one great idea to boost the enjoyment of watching your videos could be when you are spectating a certain rank in a video like this maybe put the rank symbol they are when spectating them instead of both symbols together. Personally I find this way more enjoyable to watch

I don’t know what kind of gold players you know but last time I checked golds can’t do minor air dribbles with an extra touch at the end, maybe diamonds can freestyle and I’m almost certain that those plats had to be rank 1 because in my play rank (3) I see a lot more aerials and even when getting through rank 2 I saw a lot more aerials.

@@evananderson2670 1 touch off wall and 1 on ground, and actually as a plat you don’t need to be able to do that considering you need priorities set on rotation and game sense, mechanics are a mild fraction and I can air dribble it’s just when I played in gold, they didn’t even aerial.

Personally I’ve been a dominus main for a month now before that I always used cars like fennec/octane but let me tell you, if you’re around champ/late diamond, a longer car allows you to hit better redirects and cleaner angles and the airdribble with it is so good because it’s so easy to predict where the ball is gonna go next so it’s easy adjustments but I was with the octane the aerials were amazing and so easy to hit.
Kickoff was also easier with the octane in my opinion.
So in short,
Octane for very competitive matches and where a hitbox pixel count OR for semi beginners like silver gold and early plat
And dominus if you intend to do advanced mechanics in your game (flip resets included) mostly why every freestyler uses a dominus or a breakout

Helical, you should do another tryhards vs freestylers but the tryhards are in dominus and the freestylers are in octane (make sure that the tryhards are octane mains and freestylers are dominus mains)

@@HAZEo4 m8 alpha boost is the most expensive item in the game (also the white hat) and triple flip reset is hard to pratice and very rare people do that and domunis main have a freestyle cam setting so he partice this mechanic all the time
