Even though I play flute and not piano, I like your music far more than I like the music we have to play in class. This song also makes me want to play piano just so I can play this song.

I was initially looking up a different “Water Lilies” by Catherine Rollin, but I came across this one and I immediately fell in love with it. It emotionally got me and cured my trauma and depression. I just listened to the whole Water album and I loved it so much. I am so glad to have discovered your music, and I think you are now one of my favorite composers

I lovve ALL of your music I play flute/piccolo in our Orchestra (although, most recently, it's been oboe).......I also play alto flute......and I absolutely LOVE all of your arragements for flute. The Celtic Suite is awesome and one of my most favourite. I am Scottish, so I am a wee bit parcial as well. Aye Aye Rascal is most definitely very challenging piece for Piccolo, and this is coming from one who had to play the Stars and Stripes Forever in the Army Band of which has been deemed one of the most difficult and challenging pieces for piccolo. Well, I say your piccolo pieces are even more challenging, and I LOVE IT!!!!!!! Pushes for me to be a better musician overall on all levels. I do play piano - but not all that well. I may look into some of your piano pieces but for now I have every flute and piccolo music to date you have on your website. I hope to get a flute choir together in the very near future in that I really would love to show off your amazing work and the beauty of it - plus challenge other flautists in that your pieces are not all that easy either......... Thank you so much!

Thank you so much for your kind words, I really appreciate that. It’s great to hear that my music inspires you to start your own flute choir!

can you remember what inspired you to make this movement (especially the part at 1:14 and the repeating melody in bars 44+45)?
I remember composing music for my GCSE music and just playing with what sounded good but years later, listening to you and other musicians and composers, I feel motivated to write and rediscover my passion for music but lack a focal point. I know it's a lot to ask for a few words of wisdom but it would be deeply appreciated :)

      • thekrustykrab • Giving you a few words of wisdom, I don’t know because everyone is different of course. But I really like that you used to write “what sounded good”. That’s where it all starts. My suggestion, go back to that, listen to music that you love and get inspired to write something like it.

Did you end up getting back into composing?
