Imagine how much better if Headgames port and polished the S58 head as well as upgraded cams and valve train. I plan to get the S58 powered M2 either the new 2024 or the 2026 Xdrive
Excellent information; subbed! I wonder, do you know where we can find the technical manual for the S58 other then the one for the X3m? I have only been able to find the S58 from the X3m which I believe is a technical update before mine (2024 g87). Thanks so much, and again; great info!
Sorry I never saw your first answer. I was looking for what they seem to call the 'technicians manual's it has all the detailed specs of the engine etc.
I would personally avoid WMI unless you're simply looking for the IAT cooling benefits. It's mostly the water (not the methanol) that cools the intake temps, so I'd run a heavier blend of water and less methanol. Possibly even 100% water if you're in a climate warm enough to avoid the risk of water freezing and cracking hoses, tanks, etc. Relying on WMI as a source of fuel and octane can be risky when spraying it thru a charge pipe. Ultimately, if you're planning to run full E85 or heavy blends and start maxing out the stock fueling then I'd look to spend the money on a port injection setup instead. That's a better route than relying on methanol for fueling, in my opinion. That said, if you're using it mostly for the cooling benefits then it can certainly be an excellent upgrade.
Assuming you are talking about the new 3.8 TT engine, it's a pretty impressive engine but the caveat is that we're now talking about a $250k car vs a $100k one. Neither have really been around long enough to compare the two from a reliability perspective. However, with respect to performance I think the S58 has a bit of an edge. I know there are a few mods out there for the Turbo S, LCE Performance offers a 1000hp package, but it costs like $60k. I think you're going to see a lot of 1,000hp+ S58's that are getting there for nothing more than a few grand of mods. Both engines are impressive and both can handle 1,000hp+ on the stock block and internals, but they come in at drastically different price points. Porsche is my favorite manufacturer. If all you care about is speed and power then an S58 is a lot cheaper of an option. But of course it doesn't come with the style, class, and driving experience you get out of a Porsche.

Fantastic informative video 🤘💯
Kokovq- Thanks for the feedback! We hope you enjoyed it.
The casting core is 3d printed not the actual metal head, it’s the most foam core they print that they use to make the casting.
J - Thanks for sharing this insight.
Excellent video
Droski- we appreciate the feedback and support!

N - Nice ride! What are you looking for exactly? Yours should've come with a manual.
It's also in the M3/M4/X4 M

The shorter piston throw explains a bit 😥.
THEY NEED TO COMPLIMENT THE S58 WITH THE MILD HYBRID SYSTEM....it will be perfect 👌
D - Thanks for sharing!
Just curious with this motor set up I'm looking to get a tune and doing e85 what do you think about adding a water meth injection as well

What about the turbo s engine?

B58 more reliable than S58 ?
C - Hard to tell with the S58’s being so new. But time will tell!
Slayed 🫶🏽💕
Marley - Thanks for the feedback!
I dream to put one in a 135i
Haha my engine is practically out of my 135i right now, just bring on over an S58! If only BMW sold crate engines
