Wow that was... crazy. It took forever to unclog that line and that cleanup is going to take forever!! Looks like that extra few feet helped get it. Good job getting it cleared out Donald!
How could they possibly live there with the smell? The fridge was on top of that probably contaminating the food. Hope they’re no children there. Who knows what else is living under that floor with all that sewerage? At first he said landlord left the caps off but than I think I heard him say the last drain said to leave it off. Hope he showed this to landlord immediately and called the city health inspector. You did an awesome job for them trying with the extra snake, last guy didn’t so he figured just let the basement fill up. Goes without saying but I’m sure you put new caps on!! The best!! 👍
Good job on dropping your rock glove in that nastiness. ... ewww!!!! You have done some nasty ones, but I think this one takes the cake for 2021 already. Health inspector would shut down that house in a hurry. Great job on getting that nasty job done!!!
imo only way to fix that is to have the house moved and clean under it or maybe someone can scrape all that back and shovel all that out from that hole but im sure it goes a long ways under the house
Of all the drain repair sites that I have seen, this episode has got to be the worst. That slumlord needs to be taken to court & made to repair everything, plus a big fine. This is horrible!
Are you required to report the exposed sewage to the city/county/etc? I would think that a licensed sewer cleaning business has to be a Mandatory Reporter. Seems like a landlord like that won't do a thing unless he gets pressured by authorities. It looked like spliced white telephone wire floating in there along with the ground cable and anchor. Disgusting upkeep.
never happen.. the landlord prob a slum-lord. the resident doesnt want to lose the house they can afford so they wont report it.. if lucky someone would spray the hose down in that pit but otherwise nothin gets done.. the tenant ends up suffering over stuf like this
Great video thank you. I’m surprised that there hasn’t been an outbreak of typhoid or something similarly nasty from all of that raw sewage under that property, it’s absolutely disgusting and should be condemned.
Bro I work in mental health field and yes totally different job than you. But point is I also for work have to go inside folks home. Sometimes I have to go park and just man up and let it out. Before going home just to keep my sanity. I can only imagine sometimes how you all must feel when you come to a home and you know there's nothing you can do other than the job you came to do. Leaving knowing all you did was put a bandage on there problem. Good work again man. This is sad. I really feel bad😢
Looks like the crawl space is one big septic tank, this is a sure health hazard. That house could be ordered to be torn down and the mess all cleaned up.
besides the fact that the whole space under the house is flooded i just cant imagine its healthy to have a sewage pit in the house that is just covered with some wood and no proper seal...
That has to be one of the most disgusting sights i have seen, that property was sitting on human slurry, hard to believe people are living in those conditions. I admire you for your perseverance Donald, i hope you got paid extra for that job. Best wishes from Wales.
Why don't they put sewer access outside the house up there? Weather? I don't get it. Man, I can smell that way down here in Georgia. Smells like money!
Now all they have to do is rip all the floors up. Have someone come in and excavate the 2 tons of sewage and get it back down to clean dirt. New moisture barrier and rebuild the house. Can't imagine how much it will take to make that livable again and how much they WONT do it. My ex-wife had a rental house, the main sewer bell broke in the basement. The 4 families living there dint say a word for months. Until the level in the basement got up to about waist level. I couldn't imagine living with that much deadly methane gas all around and sick everyone must get.
WOW you certianly worked for your money on this one, hell thats a lot of cleaning up to do,think they need to rip up all the floors for that .Well done on that job ...,
Well hope you documented the cap were off before you got there! Also you put them back before you left. So the owner can not back saying you did it.! Cause you know he will! Almost was one should of walked away from! Do to the mess!
At the end of the 75' , you could drive out the pin holding the cable to the anchor then remove the drum and drop in another drum with 75' of additional cable. That motor has the torque to handle that.
Wow how could anyone live in those conditions. Does a team of guys have to come in to go underneath the house and somehow clean that so the people don’t sue or get sick
@@NYDRAINS wow that's unreal, just curious what call you had was one of the worst smells you ever dealt with cause IDK how long you've done this but I bet there are some calls with smells you would never forget
The sewage flood had definitely been like that while, the smell must have been unbearable, how can people live like that? And what was with the kitchen floor was it being replaced, were they redecorating or what? Great job clearing that blockage,I wouldn't like yo be the one to clean up all that mess🤢🤮
Wow that was... crazy. It took forever to unclog that line and that cleanup is going to take forever!! Looks like that extra few feet helped get it. Good job getting it cleared out Donald!
It sure was Chad, thanks 👍
That landlord needs to be investigated - sounds like a slumlord
that NYC, so standard for your measly 30k/year apartment

cant even imagine that it is healthy living in a house that has that much waste under it
I'm glad no one called the housing or health inspector
I'm impressed to hell, hero class work, expertise and persistence. At least a start to getting better living conditions.
Thanks 👍
That house should be condemned. 😳
imo only way to fix that is to have the house moved and clean under it or maybe someone can scrape all that back and shovel all that out from that hole but im sure it goes a long ways under the house
I wouldn’t say condemned but it needs some serious sanitation under there
