Running the 17-mile Lone Pilot Loop

The Lone Pilot Trail connects with the PCT to form a 17(ish) mile loop traverse of the Soda Mountain Wilderness, which is within the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument. But the trail isn't being considered as a special or extensive recreation management area in the BLM's preferred alternatives that will become a management plan. Just finished backpacking the Lone Pilot Loop this morning. Definitely making a public comment to BLM.
Solo backcountry backpacking at its finest. Hard trail, but so rewarding.

How many water crossings/sources did you cross? When I backpacked it 2 years ago there was only one.

Hey Diane, there wasn't much water, but Scotch Creek was flowing.

East Fork of Hutton Creek had a trickle as of 6/9/24. Will see Scotch Creek this weekend.
