    I'm a Mercedes/BMW tech (retired) Nice videos! As I watch you recommend red RTV. I would recommend Permatex Ultra Grey silicone. RTV is for rough surfaces, while Ultra Grey or Ultra Black is for machined to machined surfaces, covers, etc. It dries like thick rubber and is stronger, yet still easy to clean with a razor blade. Great videos! Real good job as I watch you do it I can tell you are a pro. Thanks!

      Leo Gerow shouldn't have to tear down just take out spark plug and put it in the boot,then put it on the frame while turning ignition on if you see spark your good! Then if theirs no spark its most likely your stator but before that is double check the blue wire with white line that goes into stator for loosened one hope this helps

    as a female I have great patience working on my 50cc scooter but when it comes to watching videos hell no!!! lol if all your videos are like this you are my new go-to guy! thank you very much for sharing this one it was great! I had a no spark issue with mine and I found out it was the pickup coil thankfully it's on the outside of the flywheel so easy replace. I took the old part out put the bolts back in the holes and waited six weeks for my new part to arrive, during that weight the wind blew my scooter over and one of the bolts disappeared never have found it! I found that out when I was replacing the new part. I installed the part no problem turned over the bike and it spun a few times and then the flywheel locked up tight!!!!! it won't spin for nothing!!! question is do you think that missing bolts slid behind the flywheel and it's stuck in their held on by the magnets so the flywheel won't turn?I can't imagine any other reason why the flywheel won't turn anymore as it turned just fine up until cranking it after installing that new part. I know this is an old thread so I really hope you're still around to answer this

      @@electronicsNmore thank you so much for your quick reply! it's been driving me nuts knowing I have to go out and buy an expensive tool like that impact driver just to get the flywheel off to see if that stupid bolt is in there! LOL I actually bought another scooter hahaha this one a pony. while breaking it in at 40 miles on it last week it sprung an exhaust leak! sounds like some old dirt bikes ive ridden back in the 7os!and it gets way too hot in just a mile or two of driving it so here I sit with two great little 50cc tao tao s and no way to ride them! haha. do you happen to have a video on what to do about that? I only watch katchis kid and rolling wrench videos and now yours I haven't seen a video for 50cc Pony Tao tao yet .I have over 6000 miles on my old TaoTao and it never had a problem until the no spark issue replacing the part and now. the jammed flywheel but it's a bummer that my new one started acting up at only 40 miles!.T.I.A :) getting help from their tech support team is near impossible!!!

Cause my scooter don't have that part to hold the wire in places and the flywheel keep hitin it and cutin up the wires and I been tryin my best to fix the old stater over and over I have a brand new one put away but I don't want to fuck that one up lol until I can get that part to hold the stater wires I hope to hear back from u and great videos 👍🏽

    • @electronicsNmore
      @electronicsNmore  9 років тому

      Fabio Bandarra Hi Fabio. Do you have plenty of oil in the engine? There are several things it can be. Could be a bad camshaft bearing. You can inspect the camshaft bearing with the valve cover off. Make a short video so I can hear the sounds myself. Be sure to move all around the scooter and go close up as well. Post a link to the video. Upload your video to photobucket or similar.
      Thanks!

    • @StaffSergeant304
      @StaffSergeant304 9 років тому

      I didnt have oil for a while, because of oil leak. After I fixed the leak and put oil back in. It was too late. I cant turn the scooter on, because I taken out the starter clutch to inspect it, the starter clutch is separated from the disc that its attached to, im nt sure if thats right

    • @electronicsNmore
      @electronicsNmore  9 років тому

      The middle of the starter clutch does pull out of the disc. That is normal. You have to push in all the lobes sticking out in order to reinstall the middle section. If you added oil, and the exhaust pipe is not showing any gray-white smoke, then the piston is probably OK. I would definitely check the camshaft bearing. Loosen the chain with the tensioner, then try moving around the camshaft to see if the bearings are OK. I suspect a bad bearing. They are cheap and easy to replace. You just swap out the entire camshaft. ALWAYS check your oil!

    • @StaffSergeant304

    • @StaffSergeant304
      @StaffSergeant304 9 років тому

      electronicsNmore another question, is how can I tell if the bearing are bad, do I have to take the camshaft out and inspect or can I see it without removing, and if its nt bad bearing, how can I tell if the starter clutch is bad .

      Dylan Wilhelmi Very easy. Line up the key in the crankshaft with the flywheel, then slide it all the way back onto the shaft, then hold the flywheel in place using a strap wrench, chain wrench, or pipe wrench as you tighten the nut. Do not damage the flywheel/magnet as you hold the flywheel. It also would not hurt to apply some medium strength thread locking compound.
